i prefered the older lighter font tbh. im no grandpa i was able to read it just fine,
at least give me the option please.

and i still think they should make the darker spotlight "keyboard" the default one.

I'm no grandpa either, though I am certainly old enough to be one, and I've not got great eyes but still I think the thin font was nicer, and I judged that while viewing it without my glasses on. While wearing my glasses I agree even more that the lighter font is preferred, for both aesthetic and readable reasons. This can be changed, though, can't it, so those of us who agree the thin/light font is better can view that instead?

Did you check this? Old iPhone apps do not have a 2X button any more - they are all 2X! And the best part is the text an other OS elements are high resolution! I believe this is new in beta 3

The fact that you can't have music play from your personal collection is ********. They shouldn't be able to control that. I pretty much put my whole CD collection from back in the day onto my iTunes and now it's useless.

The icons still suck, this is how they should have looked like...

Oh, did you or your company get the brief and not win the contract? Or are you assuming that the brief that was written for the artists who actually created the icons was misinterpreted by those same artists? Perhaps the original brief is incorrect? Perhaps the artists who did create the icons are just crap at their jobs?

This "should have done it differently" attitude is offensive in so many ways - not only because it's one of the most subjective topics in which one will ever engage in discussion in life (art), but mostly because it ignores the complex process that resides behind the creation of something one thinks of as merely "a simple 100-odd square pixel graphic".

Not snobbish, but, it's true with anything, people like something, get used to it and don't want it to be different because they already like it, want it to stay the same, improve upon it, but don't change it. I have found openness to new things allows you to have better experiences, you miss out if you are looking at something that is new, from the perspective of the old thing.

There is nothing bad about liking and sticking with the present if it still does what it should do. I think iOS is absolutely timeless in design and simply needs refinements to go with the time, similar to what has happened to OS X over a timespan of more than ten years. You can clearly see this in the trends of third-party iOS apps, many of them have abandoned the default style with glossy icons and designs and pioneered new app layouts that still fitted right into iOS. The same could have been achieved with Apple's default apps; they just needed improvements rather than radical changes. I firmly believe that this entire design shakeup with the semi-transparent panels, thin fonts and cheesy colours palettes was just more than the OS needed. And the problem is that users once again get nothing to choose, because even sticking with iOS 6 is not going to prevent developers from aligning their apps with the iOS 7 design.

If you have any music you have illegally downloaded OR music you burned from a CD when those were still popular, the music will not play. It merely skips over those songs. :(

Are you talking about music sideloaded to your phone? Or through itunes match?

Anyone seeing black notification center, Siri and search keyboard on iPhone 5 - it's annoying me :(

Not sure if anyone has replied back to you yet - but it's a setting in General - Accessability - Increase Contrast - make sure it's "off" - had the same issue!

Lock screen

I still wish the regular Big time would display while playing music and only when double clicking the home button the music controls would come up. The controls being up all the time is annoying to me, I feel like I'm going to accidentally change tracks, volume, or the location in the song inadvertently.

nah that's something that ios 7 does sometimes, it's a bug. you need to resync your phone with itunes on the computer and they'll move back onto your phone. annoying but eh

The thin fonts on the lock screen were really badly annoying me.

What are you talking about? You're supposed to sync the music onto there from iTunes.

It IS new in Beta 3. I was just coming here to post about that, myself, but you beat me to it.

Oversized UI buttons aside, they look GREAT.

I've seen a few people advising against OTA updates, can I ask why it's bad? I've been using OTA for both the beta updates and they've worked fine (relatively speaking of course, all betas have their bugs), just wondering if there's something I'm missing?

It's a funny bug, but I've had one "unread message" for quite some time now! I deleted all my messages, and the badge is hanging around. Even now, after the Beta 3 update.

Try turning off badges for Messages, then turning them back on. Hopefully that works!

My folder "backgrounds" are now a light green in b3.

I changed wallpaper a couple weeks ago to one with lighter colors than my previous and really liked the way it looked. When my phone started back up after the OTA update, I immediately noticed the light green, which doesn't blend with the wallpaper like it used to. And, to be honest, I now cannot recall what it looked like 30 minutes ago. :)

Mine are a light purple with my background. It was a big difference though from what it was since I noticed it immediately (liked it the way it was before).

Music Controls on Lock Screen

Is it just me, or have they disabled turning on Music Controls on the lock screen while music is playing, and not being able to turn them off while music is playing.... :p I preferred when you could... :p
