iOS 7 Beta 3 Tidbits: New App Download Animation, Thicker Fonts, Safari Improvements

still no ability to shuffle all songs when tapping Artists > Artist Name and it shows the list of all the albums, no option to shuffle all songs through all albums like in previous iOS.

that was definitely handy instead of creating a playlist.

I got it, and honestly, it is still obstructive while watching a video.

Calendar - In the monthly view, the Calendar app has been updated to display small gray dots on days where events are scheduled.

I hope the dots are darker in the final version. I nearly couldn't see the ones in the sample picture at all on my regular PC screen.

Artist View

In iOS6's Music app, when I go to artist view, it lists the albums. Then, you click on an album to view the songs. In iOS7 beta, when you click on an artist, it shows the albums with all songs expanded. I really hope they change this. I have 291 albums by one artist (live shows, etc.) and it takes forever to scroll down to the album that I want. Maybe I'm missing a setting to collapse the view to just show the album names?

Yeah, fair point.
Plus it kind of is, bottom left when the interface is on screen. They just need to bring that to using the volume buttons when the interface is gone (or just not show the change... we can hear it!)

It's simple.

Unfortunately the ultra light font was not readable on all situations, something that a system font has to do. That is why Apple changed the font.

Agreed. I hate this. The first time I went to an artist, I thought I was missing albums because I would expect to see an expanded album only if I had one single album by that artist. Then I realized I had to scroll scroll scroll to get to the album I wanted.

They should bring back the intermediate view of all of the artist's albums or at least make it an option in the settings.

Anyone else experiencing Messages crashing when trying to send pictures? Every time I attach a photo and hit send it just dumps to the home screen.

Dude- you need to run a color calibration on your screen.
sound like your contrast is way too hot.

I think you have your PC screen at a bad angle? lol
The dot is perfectly visible when looking at it on the app on the iPhone

Do y'all think we will see apps such as an automatic SMS response? I want to see it in DND so it would respond with custom phrases like busy or in meeting. I would settle for a drive mode with custom phrases that you could set to your liking.

I would really like to see settings based on location or wifi setting. For example, connect to work wifi forward call to my desk. Connect to home wifi enter DND mode.

Do y'all think this will be possible in iOS 7 or am I just wishful thinking.

That blue dot replaces the new app banner from iOS 6. It means the app is newly installed or updated.

Do I have to have Beta2 on the phone to run OTA update?

Never use OTA with iOS7 betas. Do a fresh install without restoring anything.

Not sure if this is new... Playing a video on youtube.com in Safari (because I really dislike the poor quality in the app over 3G), hit home button and it stops playing. Bring up control centre, press play, and it continues to play in the background. Handy for a bit of background music playing on YouTube!

I have dreamed for custom auto-reply options for voicemail & texts for years. It would be so nice to have, say 3-4 different voicemail OGM's ready to switch to, like: I'm in a meeting, please leave a message.... or "I'll be unavailable for the next 3 hours, please find someone else to annoy...THANKS!"

I think the phone would have to handoff to the handset as the outgoing message is stored in ______ (insert your carrier here)'s servers. The "reply with text" is about as close as I feel like we'll see for awhile. I'm with you though. The outgoing messages could use some tweaking.
