have you tried the "reset network settings" trick?

Hey do you have to constantly removed your notifications from the notification bar? They don't remove themselves, just wondering if it's a bug?

----------

Think about turning off cellular for a while, if you are on wifi, especially if your cellular signal is low. Low signal will drain battery faster.

Also, if you load up the phone with a bunch of apps at one time, makes it that much harder to find a possible app hog etc. Just a thought. :)

K thanks will try :)

It works for Facebook I guess not tapatalk! Also here is a picture of what happens sometimes when you open an app with a badge icon on it

Update:

10 hours in total and only 2 hours of using phone moderately, I am at 24% after a full charge. 8 hours of that I was sleeping. Could be because for the 8 hours there were location services and app refresh for weather enabled. Only disabled all battery consumption settings in the 2 hours I used the device. As well as reset network settings. I will report back when I charge the phone in full again.

So here's what I did:

I shift + restored my iphone to iOS7 again, and chose NOT to restore a backup from iTunes or iCloud, setting it up as new. I downloaded my apps manually and signed into iCloud to get my contacts and all back, but didn't use any hefty backups I'd saved earlier on.

So far I've got 1 hour of standby and 10 mins of use since a full charge and I'm still on 100%. Before I attempted this fiasco, I was always down by about 10% after an hour of standby and no more than 10 minutes usage.

So far then, it's done some good. I'll see what my battery looks like in the morning then I'll have some idea of whether or not this improvement sticks!

Sometimes the percentage doesn't change right away when it's at 100% so I wouldn't be surprised if your ends up being the same.

exactly...this is how i set up my phone every beta. with beta 1 very good battery so far.

i think my phone just did that...i went 2 hours on standby and 45 minutes of usage before my phone drop to 99%

Bummer if its true because I finally have good battery life so far considering its in beta stages lol hope it doesn't change .. At 40 min usage and 1:40 standby.. 97%

Does anyone know if this is legit?

I have heard a few people on different sites say that a clean install of iOS 7 with restored iCloud settings yields SIGNIFICANT battery life improvements.

Side Note: Will future betas of iOS 7 be pushed straight to my phone or will I have to download beta 2, beta 3, beta N, and so on?

I did a clean install of iOS 7 on my iPhone 5 when I was having significant battery drainage. Let's just say that nothing really changed for me.:(

With this survey I made I am seeing that people who have clean installed have battery issues, could be because of other factors, who knows!...but right now I only have 11 votes, not enough to see a pattern..lol but doesnt hurt to give it a try! Here it is

Try setting your diagnostic & usage to NOT SEND..dont know if you already have that

This is the result for me after a clean install last night. So far since the last charge my usage has included lots of twitter and email notifications, I get dozens each day, an hour if it is safari browsing, a few minutes of Apple maps and an hour or so of having the Remote app open to control my iTunes.

I've had a noticeable improvement, but it's still not quite as good as I got in iOS6. I put that down to the whole "Beta" state though.

Edit: forgot to mention that I always have background data on for weather, and auto send to apple for reports. All on my trusty iPhone 5 A1429.

I'm gonna charge to 100%, kill all apps and then go to this forum and read through the various threads for 5 minutes and then post what my battery usage is. Anyone else want to give it a try?

7 minutes on Macforum/Safari 100%. Now I find that an improvement.

Eventually went to 99% after 12 minutes of browsing.

I charged my phone to 100% from 1% and this is my usage result today.

It's a considerable improvement, and much closer to what a stable iOS6 gave me during my kind of usage, which involves music, a lot of safari, texting, flipboard and a little bit of video streaming.

So for me at least, a clean install solved my problem!

Just like to add my 2 cents here as well , clean install and network reset just for the hell of it solved the heat problem and battery problem as well , even decluttered my iPhone with The apps I barely use...lol

Just installed.

There is something wrong.

From my 6.1.4 I just restored phone to IOS7 and then restored backup.

Do a clean install, dont restore from back up! Actually try going back to 6.1.4, clean install, then immediately go to iOS 7 and clean install again!!! And than adjust your settings from there. If you want to take off most battery sucking settings than take off app refresh in background, frequent locations, auto brightness, do not send automatic diagnostic and usage, and disable automatic app updates!!!

^^This.

Sadly it seems restoring a backup from iTunes (and possibly iCloud as well) causes the iPhone to suck battery power away quicker than it takes to charge the damn thing.

It means you'll have to download all your apps manually from the store after restoring, but it solved my battery problem beautifully!

Yah so far this is doing me justice but more importantly I think it's because I went to ios6 and didn't restore and than went to ios7 clean install last night! Noticing a difference so far!
