A double tap to bring up the widget wouldn't work out. I had a double tap in one of my apps and finally had to offer up long-press because everyone hated double tap. Too often they would tap just slow enough so that the OS would recognize it as a single tap.

it really is time to update the pop up bubbles. they havent changed since iOS1 and dont really work with the "grey...ish" overall design anymore

There's a lot of good ideas in that video.

Not sure how I feel about the "quick menus" when you click on an app, like weather or music. Isn't that why we have notification center? Or the double click home button thing?

ALL OF THIS falls on deaf ears; it's apple we are talking about here

Look, that grid layout is still the same of sh8t, different toilet. If they wanted to make a difference, change the way it is now instead of adding on top of the same old interface. There's nothing really wrong with the same old interface but it is very stale and bland in today's standards.

The other issue is the ipad - so much screen real estate, but yet confined to the same old iphone screen concepts. Pathetic at best.

I'm sure there are tons of people out there with concepts, but why is this person being discussed? Do they just know people? Have a large twitter following or some other equally unimportant reason of why they are some type of "expert" on iOS UI features?

Apple STILL trying to implement features from the jailbreak community

The quick settings functionality has been around forever on jailbroken iPhones - with SBSettings with a quick pulldown where you can access any of those settings with one swipe. Just like with the current pull-down notification center and quick info screen that was available via Intelliscreen for forever too. Pretty comical that developers cranked this stuff out ages ago and Apple is still trying to figure it out.

I'd venture to guess that it's because unlike Flight Mode, Bluetooth has additional options like pairing and selecting devices, etc. Its not as simple as on/off. While they could have a menu option for on/off and then the other options in a submenu below it, this is Apple. They want to keep things as clean as possible and having Bluetooth take up 2 spaces in the Settings wouldn't work with that.

I second that, but we're talking about turning Bluetooth on and off - not setting up Bluetooth connections. You already gave the answer, but maybe Sir Ive will change "this is Apple" in the near future if it definitely make sense :D

This is just some random guys idea of iOS. Like *******s, every one's got one of these.

The widget implementation is flawed... the idea behind widgets is you don't have to interact with the app to get an update.

Here you're still having to tap the icon, so why limit the functionality of the single tap when it could load the entire app in the same amount of time?

Also, would you really want to be able to reply to messages or change settings from the lock screen? Emphasis on the lock...

I actually hope it's nothing like this - cool ideas, but iOS 7 could use an overhaul.

Pointless, why it takes the same amount of time and effort or less to just open the app for a full screen experience. Example, why would i give up seeing past messages just for the sake of something "new". This looks like a Samsung gimmick, i thought iphone users were smarter than this.

However mission control looks good.

Those quick toggle buttons are hideous. If Apple adds quick toggles they should do what NCSettings does for jailbroke devices. It looks super elegant.
