iOS 7 GM battery life horrible!

Nice stats! But you got those results because on what you where doing. Mostly video and some music you will get around the 8-13 hour range. I will try to do this tomorrow and post my results. Btw us your iPod new, and also what about screen brightness, wift, Bluetooth etc...?

I set up my iPod as "new" on install. I watch video online via wifi. Screen set to 3/4. Bluetooth is off. iPod is 5 months old now.

This is ridiculous. I'm hoping the iPhone 5C will be better.

That's actually really good battery life.

WOW. I have a 3 month old iPod touch 5(replacement from December) and I get around 8-9 hr of battery life. What are your settings at? I am using a restored backup.

I didn't use a restored backup and I set it up as a new install. I don't use any push notifications etc. I only use it for video and music and don't have any use for any games, emails, Facebook, twitter on this device. I just switch off everything else like bluetooth that may drain the battery.

Still I think you have had the phone plugged in since the last full charge.

I do not really understand what you mean. Here is the thing:

The picture showed my first cycle on iOS 7 GM after a restore and setup everything as new stuffs. I have been experienced bad battery life with 6.1.4 so I got my phone charged fully then unpluged until 20% then screen capture to see how it differ from 6.1.4

I used wifi web browsing, phone call and barely you tube watching.

Standby: 20h30
Usage: 9h40

It is much better than 6.1.4 on my phone.

My iPhone 5 died in 2 1/2 hours from 88% while I napped. I plugged it in to charge and was going up 1-2% every 15-20 minutes. Horrible!

i must be in the minority as my battery life on my i5 has increased 30-40% on ios 7 GM compared to ios 6. 20 hours after i unplugged my phone and its still sitting at 32%

Battery life on my mini seems fine.. Always connected to wifi, parallax turned on, and i did not set up as new. I still have 62% left as im typing this

No problems with iPhone 5 battery life here after moving to iOS 7. I did a clean reinstall with redownloading of all apps and settings though, if that matters.

I think my battery life is about the same as before. Around 30-40% left after 14 hours, so extrapolated it would be about 18-19 hours standby. I bought my iPhone 5 on release day, as for battery age.

I turned off the "Refresh app in background" option under location services and had a better battery life. :)

This worked for me too. I had this disabled in all betas and the battery life was pretty good and also location service under privacy, I turned off most of the system option except time zone and traffic.

Battery was pretty good for me in the last beta though I turned off auto app refresh and most location services as well. The GM sees to be much the same except for when using certain apps. I was taking videos and photos yesterday on both Instagram and the native camera and the battery dropped from 50% to empty in the space of minutes. The screen displayed the cable sign for a charge however after turning the phone back on 30 minutes later the battery was at 25-50% again. Very strange.

Batterylife has been ace on iOS 7 GM for me on my iPhone 5. Currently at:

usage 5hrs, 58 mins
standby 1 day, 7hrs
29% left.

Running 3 exchange accounts, 1 iCloud account.
Bluetooth and wifi are never turned off in settings.

Well those are very fine numbers!

I'm using an iPhone 4S and I have recently installed iOS 7 GM. I did an clean installation by using DFU. I have installed my iCloud backup and turned many settings off, like: location services (iAds, diagnoses and uses, popular nearby, timezone, regular used locations), updating apps in background (latest news), turned off bluetooth, deleted facebook app, reduced advertisements, reset netwerk settings, reset settings.
I have read this could be the solution for a better battery life, but here are my results:

usage: 2hrs, 33 min.
standby: 5 hrs, 22 min.

batt: 34%

I have used my iPhone only for sending messages through whatsapp and imessage.

What would you guys suggest? The last thing I can try to do is set iPhone as new instead of using an iCloud backup, but I hope this isn't the solution, because I have a lot of (important) info in iMessage.

I have restored to iOS 7 GM..battery was dead within 3 Hours normal usage.
Then I disabled all known battery draining features like background location, parallax, frequent locations etc..Got a battery life to 4 Hours.
Last resort, set up as new iPhone without iCloud backup..Seems to work sofar.

Okay...setting up completely as new did help. But I don't get my 7-8 hours :(
I am merely at 5

Can someone please make a brief summary what features they turn off for max battery..Because I think I actually did everything.

For me was the same with my 4s.
6.1.3 was the sollution!!!

I went iOS 6.1.4 -> 7.0 Beta 6 -> 7.0 GM on my iPhone 5. The battery life was pretty much identical on all 3, nothing to complain about.

I noticed that in the beginning it was lasting a bit less with 7.0 Beta 6, because I was constantly playing with my "new" phone. But now it settled and it's just like it was before.

I guess many are having similar issues.

Ok so I fixed my battery issues by turning off all the useless new features. Here they are:

Parallax - Enable reduce motion in general>accessibility
Transparency - Enable increase contrast in general>accessibility
Background app refresh - disable from main settings menu
Frequent Locations - disable from Privacy>Location Services>System Services

I'm sitting at 96% battery life with 23 minutes Usage, 1 hour 10 minutes standby

Iphone 5
Ios 7 GM upgraded from 6.1.4 in itunes. (not restore)

Battery life on my iPad (3rd Gen / WiFi) is solid.

Fresh install.
Turned off the location features except Find My
Left most of the other settings stock

Try restoring it, I had a battery issue with my phone and I restored and I last the entire day with 15% and I used my phone for 5 hours of usage and 10 on standby

DFU reinstalled iOS7 fresh, no backup restore, still crapy battery life, simple surfing for 1 hour and the battery is down to 70%.

Listen to music for another half hour and the battery is down to 40%!

Horrible, unless there is a 7.0.1 or later version which fix this issue with iPhone 5/iOS7 combo, I will stick to iOS 6.1.4.

I am having great battery life. Last me all day. Different for everyone.
