My battery life has noticeably declined since i updated to the iOS 7 GM. I rarely make it to bedtime but more significantly my phone has started shutting down when it still shows 15-20% charge remaining. Anyone have any idea why that would be?

If you have Twitter installed remove it, I did this the other day, battery life yesterday was 4 hours usage/0% to currently 5hrs 3 mins/27%. I still find it hard to accept that such a simple move has resulted in improved battery but this is what I'm getting. Perhaps Twiiter push was eating up juice in the background?

I've had about the same battery life as I've always had

Standby: 1 day 12 Hours (36 hours)
Usage: 7 hours

These measurements were taken when my phone hit 1% on the GM. I don't know if this is considered good or bad, but its slightly better than what I was getting with iOS 6 or the betas

All my battery problems were fixed by deleting EVERY email accounts including iCloud.

Add them all one by one, and toggle everything you wish to have - Email, Calendar etc...

Battery life is better upgrading with software update on the phone from iOS 6 to iOS 7. It's just like it was with iOS 6 now.. now to wait for my credit card so I can get the 5C

You can't set brightness to 100%, switch between Wifi and 3G, leave apps running in the background and then complain about battery life. As long as battery drain differs from one user to another i think it comes down to user habits not the OS.

Not true, especially around updates. I've measured significant fluctuations around certain updates while holding user habits constant. This one included.

Reviews found battery regressions on iPhone 5. Other models were not affected much. It was more than 3.5 hours less than IOS 6 on iPhone 5 per Ars.

Not good enough really. Not now that Android has managed to improve battery life. Always felt the battery life on iPhones made them more dependable compared to the others, not anymore.

So much for the "but its a beta" comments, knew that was a load of balls.

Nexus 5 soon, hope the camera is good.

well.. my iPhone 5 battery drains like hell.. can only agree to certain reports.. did a clean install and so on...
maybe there's a difference between a1428 & a1429..
it's really annoying and strange... right after I fully charged my phone it will stay at 100% for half an hour and after that I can watch it draining.. I usually do complete charging cycle's. I feel somehow that cell or wifi is causing this issue. When I'm connected to wifi at home it feels like it's not draining that fast.
But i.e. tonight when I was on the ambulance it was fully charged and I got 3 1/2 hours usage and ~14 hours standby..
was much better on iOS 6 for me..

I get the exact same issue.
I can see the % drop like waterdrops....in only get 5hours of wifi usage out of my 4S. And SOMETIMES the phone just turns off at 5-12% and when turned back on it says "plug me in".

And i did a clean restore and installed everything manually afterwards.

What the heck! I'm at 74% in 1 and a half hours!!! This is horrible! I downloaded all the betas then I got the GM then I restored to the public version and my battery still sucks!!! I didnt do a clean restore yet maybe that solves it. Please help!!!

I just upgraded from iOS 6, no "clean" install or restore, just straight upgrade (to GM, so I have been running iOS 7 for over a week now) . I think all this is so subjective to the kind of usage. If your screen is on, that is counted as usage. If you are downloading apps while playing music and surfing the web on LTE, that is also counted as usage. If I am on wifi and playing with apps, I use 10% an hour or less. If on LTE and using data hungry apps I use 15% an hour or more. The usage screen in settings varies depending on how you have used your device. That being said, I have also turned off most of the new features new to iOS 7.

Here's battery life from my 4th gen iPad, Wi-Fi only. Screen shot taken with 5% remaining

My iphone 5 battery life is a lot shorter now. I usually make it through the day with 50 percent left on the battery and then charge overnight. I went to into the red at around 5pm....hadn't even reached home! My phone was fully charged when I updated, and plugged into a power source during the process. Looks like iOS 7 burned through my battery in about 3 hours.

I've been with iOS 7 since Beta 1 and I think that my battery life has improved substantially since the bulk of App updates yesterday. Phone isn't running as hot as it has been in previous versions.

Same problem here. Welcome....
And i already did a clean restore and a DFU restore now.

How do i see if my battery is broken? Is the loading time an indicator?
