not only offline siri, but much improved Siri, especially on the voice recognition end.
Instant action Siri would be nice. Instead of spinning ball it would create the reminder and be done with it.

I would also greatly welcome Siri API, as to allow for me to say "Play music on spotify" or whatever and it would start to play. Now, while driving, I can start spotify with siri but still have to take my eyes off the road for finding the playlists and play buttons etc.

Something that Windows had since version 3.1 !

Shortcuts - to put on the main screen

Do you actually need to close all apps from time to time? Tried it, never noticed a difference. Online opinions are equally divided on the issue as well.

The first time I bought an iPhone, I didn't know that you needed to doubleclick on the home button to see the apps that are on standby. I thought that when you went out of an app, you also closed it.

After two weeks I was wondering why the battery life of the iPhone 4S was such a crap (fully drained in 4 hours on standby), when all I was reading on this forum about the great battery life.
So I went back to the shop to complain and they showed me how I could see which apps were on "standby".
It were 112 apps on my phone. Talk about feeling like an idiot

So now, I close all the apps after using them and for me I would be happy if the first button in the row of standby apps would be a "close all standby apps" button.

Heh, and here I am actually supporting their efforts to completely do away with any semblance of a file manager whatsoever, hole improving inter-app communication. :p

That has major problems though...if I delete an app, I lose all my files from that app. And it forces you to remember which app you file is in as opposed to a central "Documents" folder that shows all my documents (regardless of what app created them).

For example, if I have the app "Quick Office" and I create 40 documents in there but I find a better app later on like "Pages", I would lose all my documents if I delete Quick Office. Also, there's no quick way to import all those documents from one app to another.

Fix the original iPhone mistake! Please!

My concept for iPhone would make me happier than just about anything!

I'm a heavy texter and sometimes texts up to a couple of 100's of texts per day. What I'd like to see is an easier way to keep track of your conversation. For instance:

The big things I wish they could sort out with the carriers for texting is

to have group replies stay with the group. And in both cases the ability to edit recipients and break off conversations. Even with like links or mirroring or something you can follow what was said with whom

Date and time stamping of all messages. Especially for texts. Sometimes that's the only way to follow as a group texting breaks off with replies all over.

And the big biggie is backing up of texts in a way where you can restore just those and not everything if you choose.

Ability to assign trust to apps myself. I bought the iPhone, I own the physical device, therefore I am the one who should decide which programs can and cannot run on it. If Apple does not want to put a certain app in their App Store, fine, let them not. But for them to prevent me from installing apps from other sources, that is contrary to the idea that I own the device

Never happen. Because while you own the device you merely license the software. And under that license you give them say in what you can install.

That said, you can jailbreak and install whatever you want. But Apple would fix your phone for any defect claim so long as it has jailbroken software on it. If you are okay with that, have at it

----------

multiple user sign-in (a long overdue necessity for the iPad),

Unlikely to ever happen. Seems rather clear that Apple views iDevices as single user.

That's something I'll never understand. Can't imagine it would be difficult to implement.

It's not difficulty that would be the issue. iOS is based in the same core as Mac OS so the ability is likely there could be be rather easy.

It's desire. As I said, it seems like Apple views these as single user items, no matter how some folks actually use them. This many years of folks screaming for multiuser iPhones and now iPads doesn't seem to have changed their minds and probably won't

iOS seriously needs Up Next, even more so than iTunes 11. .

Before I worry about Up Next, I'd love the ability to view all music, movie and tv show 'in the cloud' right in the app, like you get with Music when you have iTunes Match and 'show all music'. All of it right in the libraries. And same thing in iBooks without the separate collection.

And in the three media how about letting us stream and not force a download. And when we do download ask us for movies/shows which version like it did in iOS 5. Plus fix the stores so they show us purchased stuff again. And let us wish list on our devices.

Kill the lock screen. That's useless. .

As someone that has confidential info on my iPad, I disagree. That screen, with its pass code is very useful

----------

Even if gestures are added to the iPhone, the home button will never be removed. A lot of people don't even realize the gestures are there on the iPad. They're just not as intuitive to novice users as a physical button.

Not to mention there are several other functions for the button that don't have gestures and wouldn't work as well with one

----------

A guest user account where you can control what the user has access to. Or for families, multiple profiles.

The closest they are likely to get to either of these is remembering previously set restrictions so you can botch disable and then reenable. Which for most would be fine. Especially if they did it similar to how they do guided access. Turn it 'kid mode' and set the settings, lock it with a pin. Trip click the home button and enter kid mode, same to exit.

To go with that they need to add all baked in apps to the list as well as the ability to hide any third party apps, either by item or by the rating of the item (same with media). That way I can hide my adult rated episodes of true blood, my comics app etc when I hand it to the six year old to play Fix it Felix etc

The things I'd really like in iOS 7 are:

1. a new UI (I'm sure Jony Ive's design genius will be very apparent in iOS 7)

2. ability to set non-Apple apps as defaults (e.g., Google Maps, Yahoo Weather, Bloomberg or Reuters for Stock, etc.)

3. this is something that doesn't influence the performance of iOS at all, but just really bugs me. Apple Mail's reply header reads something like "On Apr 20, 2013, at 9:03 PM, Carl Gauss <carl.gauss@magnetism.com> wrote:" I think this is so cumbersome and plain ugly. I think the way Sparrow or the new Gmail app do it is beautiful. "On Saturday, April 20, 2013, Carl Gauss wrote:" I don't know why, but that really bothers me.

What we really need:
• Option to require passcode to turn off the iPhone. (Very useful if it gets stolen and the thief knows about Find My iPhone, they will try to turn it off but it will Requiere the passcode).

99.9% of the time they want your hardware not your data. So they plug it into a computer and restore it. And even if you say 'then require the pass code to restore it' there has to be a way for that to be overridden for tech support just the whole recovery mode thing now. Cause no way is Apple going to say 'sorry you are sol' to someone cause Junior punched numbers until he disabled the phone. And if there is a way, someone will find it out and publish it and that will be the end of that

I think that makes no sense and not sure why Apple would be so stubborn about it. Especially with iPad.

Ive been using Zephyr with my jailbroken iP5 and I can barely use another iPhone without it! I love being able to swipe up to close an app, or swipe side to side to switch apps etc. brings alot iOS.

Considering the iPad has had similar gestures included for a while, I sure to hope something similar is included in iOS 7!

Other things:

- Auxo type of app switcher would be awesome! The ability to close all apps at once, brightness slider and quick toggles all in the app switcher would be great!

- Some more options in the Notification Centre!

A "documents app" (see my wishlist a couple pages back) is an elegant and very lightweight approach to file sharing between apps.

SwiftKeyX-like keyboard. It is the single feature keeping me tied to Android. I think the OS is better suited for me anyways, but I could close an eye on everything else if I had SwiftKey-like prediction.

Oh, and application integration, again like on Android. And bluetooth transfer of files (even windows phone has it now). And feature switches, SBsettings-like (we've been asking for half a decade now)

None of that UI redesign or revamp nonsense. There is no lack of style in iOS, but substance should be added.

It's so sad that iOS remained crippled feature-wise for all this time. If Apple improved it without wasting so much time, Android would have never gained its current marketshare.

What I'd like to have is an App Drawer similar to what Android has. That way, on the Home Screen, I could have what I wanted and none of what I don't want on it. Apps like the Newsstand and Stocks bug me, and I wish I could put them away without having to resort to jailbreaking.

There's not much I'd do with the UI; it does what it does quite well, but there are a few little things. The Notification Center would be a lovely place to put some quick toggles; sometimes I just need to change my brightness on the fly or quickly access or turn off WiFi or mobile data to save battery life. Also, I'd like a different method of closing out apps; the current way of double-tapping the home button, holding down on an icon, and individually tapping each one to close it seems a bit counter-intuitive. Maybe when you hold down on an icon to close one, there could be an option to tap multiple icons for the apps you wish to close, and a context-sensitive icon to close all running apps?

I want the following things to be implemented in iOS 7

1. Preview app!!! It makes no sense to have preview on your mac store pdfs in the cloud and then to not be able to access it from your idevice. I use keynote and pages extensively and icloud works seamlessly for me. I think this is a big oversight on apples part when their priority is to have devices seamless work together

2. Improve do not disturb.. this was a great feature but still very primitive. They can include a lot more features. For example having a meeting mode where no one is able to call. Have a night mode where only emergency calls from your favorites come through

3. Trash can- When you delete photos by mistake - they can have a trash can and give you the option of restoring them later

4. Multiselect and delete SMS just like email

5. Mission control like feature - especially for ipad

6. Siri should work faster- its still very slow

7. Make it easier to send attachments - the current method that was introduced in ios6 is not very user friendly. Just have an attachment icon!

8. Mailbox like feature for attending to mail at a later time or date. This should be incorporated into the main mail app (currently mailbox only works with gmail)

9. Access bluetooth , 3G and airplane mode through siri.- I find siri extremely useful to set alarms and reminders and hardly every go into those apps. I think if they could get siri to do this , it would solve the problem of multiple clicks to access these buttons.

Notice that I have not asked for widgets . For me the iphone is a working phone which I use to do my work and to read and to launch apps . Widgets are not very useful to me. I dont use widgets even on my windows or mac . ( I generally keep a clean desktop screen)
