The status bar appears permanently black for me running b3 on an iP4. Is this isolated or is anyone else experiencing the same?

Had the same problem. In accessibility turn off the improve contrast toggle.

I didn't have it enabled; but I tried toggling it, rebooting, then turning it off and rebooting again, and it's still black. Bummer, it's really ugly this way. lol

Hmm odd. And yes it is not as pretty as the frosted transparency. Haha

Hello. I`ve recently installed beta 3 on my iPhone4.

Here`s new "foggy" lockscreen:

First one is my normal lockscreen with no notifications.
Second - when I press power button and there is new notifications.
Third - when I manually pull down the NC.

Overall performance seems to be improved a bit compared to beta 2.

Parallax option removed from settings app.

Unabling paralax in settings/general/accessibility will fix that.

True (I`ve been confused since I have russian interface). But this option still do nothing (except fix a bug :D)

This option is actually activate "paralax" = background motion when you move the phone...

With beta 3 now, my iPhone 4 has become completely unresponsive after being in my pocket for about 15 minutes. It's happened three times already since installing it yesterday.

The only thing that would help was a hard reset. But after the hard reset I'm not asked to enter my PIN, which proves, I think, that the phone wasn't even turned off for real. It just didn't respond, no matter what I did. Weird bug.

Can't even make a phone call with beta 2

The call screen show up 10 sec after the call established (as the call screen starts with 00:10) and it started to reboot endlessly on the 8th day; restore to the last night backup did not work, had to restore back to the day before last.

Given most key features in 7 is computing intensive (e.g. GUI effect & multi task), maybe the best option for iPhone 4 is to replace icons in 6 and rebrand it as 7.

Fosted spotlight too

With every beta comes new implementations of transparency, I think well see full transparency before gm is out. The parallax setting seems to hint we might see that as well.

Cheers

I had that too. It's a shame, because beta 3 is much better in almost every regard than 2. Scrolling and typing is smooth, I haven't gotten the seriously sluggish performance issues that I saw before and the phone doesn't up and die whenever I want to play an audio file.

I reset my settings and am waiting to see if that fixes the unresponsiveness issues.

Even though two weeks ago I posted a comment that beta 2 was "perfectly acceptable" on iPhone 4, it was not, at least not for me. I had to reboot my phone 7-8 times a day, apps were randomly crashing, and I didn't even thought about launching games, they would take few minutes to start and likely to crash afterwards.

Now, beta 3 is different story. No crashes yet, overall experience is much, much better than beta 2. I can start any app and it will launch pretty fast. iOS is responsive, even though it still laggs a little. I've had some sync problems (it wouldnt restore all apps and it would crash eventually), but so far its pretty damn good. I feel that I can rely on my phone, which I couldnt say about beta 2, I wouldn't even trust b2 with alarm clock.

As far as I can tell, it's a problem/bug involving the wallpaper and being able to zoom it properly when changing it. When you try to change the wallpaper on mine, it shows "loading" with the rotating thing and never loads it. You're unable to adjust the wallpaper positioning and thus end up with the edge showing, leaving black up top.

It is indeed ugly and needs to be fixed.

Agreed! Beta 3 is running MUCH better on my iPhone 4. Smoother typing, animations, everything. So far, so good!

Yup just confirmed this is the problem. Just take a wallpaper from the web somewhere, save it to your photos, and from the photos app, make it your wallpaper. Resize it to your liking and it'll fit just fine. No more black bar.

Hope that helps!

I can also confirm MLB at Bat works like a charm in Beta 3!

Agreed. There`s a hope to be so. For example, Call app switcher and move the snapshot of the SpringBoard around. You`ll see that "frosted" effect dynamically applies to your wallpaper.

And it works very smooth. I can`t see any problem to add such effect to NC (they can take "frosted" snapshot of SpringBoard/wallpaper once and use it like they already do with the Dock).

same here, my iPhone 4 goes unresponsively black after idle for 2 hours.

Don't see any difference between performance on a 4 and a 4s, except that the 4 takes slightly longer to load apps. Apart from that, both seem to be alright, except for some bugs and glitches. Very usable for me.

I'm guessing the reason it's taking so long to add all the effects to the iPhone 4 is that they have to specifically program the code for the older graphics processors? As if it doesn't recognize the regular calls to the effects, or something?

The only think that bothered me on beta 3, and I have to say it was a clean install, was the music app, scrolling through song was laggy and the lockscreen was laggy as well when playing a song.
