So what determines if a black or white background is used in an app. i.e. why is message/phone app white but facetime black. Or is it just one of those incomplete things

With beta 3 now, my iPhone 4 has become completely unresponsive after being in my pocket for about 15 minutes. It's happened three times already since installing it yesterday.

The only thing that would help was a hard reset. But after the hard reset I'm not asked to enter my PIN, which proves, I think, that the phone wasn't even turned off for real. It just didn't respond, no matter what I did. Weird bug.

Same here. This has happened to me on my iPhone 4 at least 5 times since installation. Had to do power+home hard reset to get it back. Always when I've let the phone idle for some time.

Happens to me too, but... I thought I had found out a common denominator in the occurrences. It happened to me the first three nights - had to soft reboot in the morning - and each time I had 47% battery left. Alas, last night it didn't happen to me, but... I did have 76% left this morning, so it could be still a "47% battery" bug...

Unresponsive iPhone after 47% and some music

The unresponsive phone it's happening to me also... when I get low battery (below 47%) it just goes black and nothing can wake it up except resetting it. It happened to me right after the OTA update and while I was on vacation.

Also, who's using successfully iTunesMatch? I had to reset my phone because the music app started crashing every single time I opened it and it just ket saying something about "updating iTunesMatch" (what it says when you turn it on). Things that happened there since B1 was that the iPhone did not remember the playlist I was using and started randomly with whatever song it wanted.

Other thing that happened to me while using iTunes on B2 (before I had to do a Full Reinstall of the iPhone) was that it started actually playing, but the sound would not come out on my car stereo neither the phone, although it said so, so I had to move the playing sound from Car to iPhone to Car to get sound.

I am. using it both on my iPad 3 and iPhone 5 and has worked better than it ever did on iOS 6. I was having problems with airplay on Beta 2, but in limited testing that seems to be working better in Beta 3.

Hello. I`ve recently installed beta 3 on my iPhone4.

Here`s new "foggy" lockscreen:

First one is my normal lockscreen with no notifications.
Second - when I press power button and there is new notifications.
Third - when I manually pull down the NC.

Overall performance seems to be improved a bit compared to beta 2.

Parallax option removed from settings app.

So the iPhone 4 has transparency too ?

They're adding features and UI effects slowly. For example they fixed the lock screen on the latest Beta.

Yeah, I'm assuming they will optimize it for A4. May not get all features, but hey you get the update. I think this is the oldest support cycle ever.

It does on iPad 3 wifi for me.

They have no choice but to update it as they still sell it.

I've tried beta 1 and 2.. Always ended up going back to iOS 6.

How does the latest beta feel on iPhone 4?

Yea, what they said. I need to see if b4 is worth it for my wife who loves the ui but hated the performance.

Not that I have seen. The notification center is still relatively black/non-translucent and the quick settings panel (or whatever Apple is calling it) is still gray and not transparent.

Everything runs much smoother though. It's almost at iOS 6 levels IMO.

Beta 4 was almost identical to iOS 6 performance on iPhone 4. Looking forward to see new translucent effects. but overall it's good. very useable than beta 3

I doubt animated weather, and translucency effects are coming to the iPhone 4. This is how the device is able to run as nicely as iOS 6. If those effects and Dynamic Wallpapers came, the device would lag in a large amount of ways.

I can see that it would slow down if it had dynamic/parallax wallpapers, but I don't think translucency would be an issue. The only thing it's missing (that I'm aware of) is the keyboard, and control center. If we can have it for the folders, dock, and password lock screen, than the other two should be fine. That being said, I really hope we get it.

no new translucency effect on iphone 4 on beta 4 i think they focused on stabilizing the os. maybe on next beta they will add it. i wish on the keyboard and notification center. The parallax settings seem to be removed. im not sure tho.

Ios 7 beta 4 is definely better than previous betas, more smooth , more responsive. I really hope that apple ad blur effect on control center because the grey is awful.

Weather app lags a lot, scrolling through songs very laggy, opening and closing apps animation still laggy, keyboard is still laggy, so it's not like ios 6

lol - even at 3-4 years old the ip4's internals are more than capable to handle transparency. On the earlier betas you could even get panoramic wallpapers working on the iPhone 4 (a feature they said wouldn't be coming to the iPhone 4 on iOS 7). They've since removed it. If they don't add transparency for the notification center and the settings panel it's just because they don't want to. :(

They won't. Transparency effects are not coming to the iPhone 4. I'm sure its in the release notes.

Blurred layers are not available on iPhone 4. Parallax is not available on iPhone 4. Letterpress text is not available on iPhone 4.

Yet they have the transparency on the passcode screen and the keyboard. They seem to be picking and choosing.
