Air drop is specifically a hardware feature. Your hardware has to have enough "MIMO" antennas to stay connected to the regular wi-fi network, and split one off for a dedicated channel. It's the same physical chip that lets your a AirPort Extreme run two network SSID's at the same time.

Which is wonderful and makes sense, but for me the only two AirDrop devices I have (iPad mini and Mac mini) cannot share files with each other because iOS->OS X doesn't work. While I'm not certain of why there is a limitation, I'm pretty sure it's because of the lack of support for various file types within iOS. While understandable, it is a bit obnoxious to name them the same but exclude making them compatible with each other.

Perhaps in a future update.

I'm really disappointed that Apple removed the maps view from the Photos app.

My iPhone 5 was perfectly fine before the update. iOS 7 killed the battery life. I turned off background updates, parallax, etc. and it still sucked. They did a reset at the Apple store and it drained 20% in 20 minutes. They swapped out to replacement 5 with iOS 6, and that's where I'm staying.

Your anecdotal evidence is just that.
I've had NO issues for the last several months of running iOs on my iPhone 5 with regards to battery life & am unaware of even a single developer in my circle that has.
It was a fluke. Please feel free to try again with your new device. If it happens again, I can only imagine that you either have a unique blend of apps that somehow play less nice on iOS 7, or perhaps your iPhone was just background updating dozens of apps to iOS 7 compatibility, unbeknownst to you & that taxed your battery briefly. At any rate, don't give up!
iOS 7 DEFINITELY kicks ass & runs smooth as butter on iPhone 5!!

I wish the color scheme would change depending what environment you were in.

Example: bright environment = bright/light interface, dark environment = gray/black interface.

Or when you view a picture in Photos and swipe left/right and it's the area not covered by picture is white, but then go "full screen" and it's black?

Perhaps it looks better on a 5c.

Sort of funny that the battery drained faster after the genius bar did a full reset and there were no apps running or installed on the phone at the time. That's what caused them to swap the phone.

Edit - also, I have no desire to try again. After seeing iOS 7 in person and determining that it looks absolutely horrible, I'm staying with 6, thanks.

This from someone who has 2 Apple TV's, a 2011 15" MacBook Pro, AirPort Extreme, iPad 3 (and I've owned the 1, 2, and 3), and I've had an iPhone 4, 4S, and currently have a 5. I'm an Apple fan. Not an iOS 7 fan.

Calendar looks like crap!

New feature: Calendar looks like crap on iPad! I can only hope it will look better or improved by the time I get my new iPhone. Too much text in the UI. Where do I sign the petition to bring back the "x" cancel icon?

So far 30 minutes into this thing....

I like the UI changes. Nothing about the swiping is too terribly off. I was caught by things like deleting mails and shuting down apps being changed... The right-to-left change wasn't bad, but closing apps has zero visual cues for ya.

My main complaints:
The new "folders" for App icons is totally useless. I liked that it opened up to just one more level.... If I have to swipe around in the new 3x3 box it's just missing the point.

The biggest miss "almost deal breaker" is the color scheme. It's just too loud. I had a ton of very nice desktop pics (I took myself that I also use on my MacBook and iPhone and even at work) and they are worse than useless with the new color scheme in place. The color scheme and arrangement of all the "blendy" stuff totally washes out pictures that used to look really great. I suppose I'll eventually re-edit them or take new ones, that has still go me bothered and upset.

I personally only use pictures on lock screen.... Having wallpaper obscured by rows of icons feels ridiculous to me. Reminds me of that one guy we all know whose widows desktop is so full of application icons.. it takes you five minutes to find the trash icon, lol. At any rate, since I always have an abstract background, there was no "learning curve" here for me. On a side note...... using a panorama for a lock screen pic provides an AMAZING effect.... try it!!!

Edit: ok, I'm hearing that was actually removed from final release. =/

iTunes Radio is great. Listened to it for a couple hours and no repeats. That's never happened to me with Spotify before.

That sucks. =(

Well, here's hoping that new legacy app version option Apple introduced works out well for you until you come around or choose another platform... To each their own, I guess.

All the update did was make me crave more. More dynamic wallpapers. More customization. More more more!

Really happy with the update though :D iPhone 5 USA AT&T, no problems after ~8 hours of use

Spotlight Search- NO WEB?!

Why did they take away searching the Web from Spotlight search. This was a GREAT feature. Does anyone know how to get it back?

Play indicator missing from Home Screen

The little play indicator (right pointing triangle) doesn't appear at the top of the screen when music (either local or iTunes Radio) is playing.

More than once, I've noticed that my volume turned way down but the Music app was still working...

Overall, really liking iOS 7, but I turned off the extra motion and made the fonts bold. The Howdy Doody outline of Contacts icon seems oddly reminiscent of the "no photo available" on Facebook....

Is there some way to show a list of events in calendar like in 6 and earlier? Or am I really going to have click on each day and flail around the timeline to see what's happening for the week?

Edit: I see clicking on search (!) brings up the view I wanted.

My control center isn't translucent like it should be...And I don't have the weather displayed in my notification center..Anyone having these issues?

Man, the way you switch and close background apps is totally copied from webOS. If I was the HP CEO I would go thermonuclear on this issue with apple.

It is both incredibly entertaining and saddening to see how picky people are about colors, fonts, icons and so on.

Apple can have the simplest looking and easiest to use system out there, but there will always be someone who hates apples. ;)

The same goes for the junk (food) OS.

Get over it.
