The fact that it uses cellular data to update apps when you have no WiFi connection is a big disadvantage to me.

Oh wow. That's a biggie. I already enabled it. How do I disable it? I just assumed like other things, it would only do it when connected to wifi

Am I the only one that has an iDevice with the auto-update app is not working...? I turned it on, but then I realized that an update came to Facebook and Twitter, and I had to go to the App Store and manually update it (I had to give my password as well... I though giving passwords in order to update was left behind...). Is this happening to anyone else? :(
The rest of iOS 7 is great, I love it! At first, you understand nothing, it just doesn't seem good. Use it for some hours (1 or 2...) and you'll start loving it!

Sometimes it takes a bit for apps to update themselves. I'm not sure what triggers it, actually, but it isn't always instant. The App Store seems to be experiencing some hiccups right now which might also contribute to slow updates.

Is there any way to get list view when you select videos ?

iTunes video that I bought shows up as an icon that's easily recognizable.

Unfortunately, ripped video that I imported into iTunes shows up as an unrecognizable icon and I have to click through the different videos till I find the one I want.

This makes all video, with the exception of video you buy in the iTunes store, pretty much unusable without a list view.

Use Identify to tag them correctly and you shouldn't have a problem recognizing them….

With a darker background (so that the folders are visible), iOS7 is actually nice on my iPAD 4. But the reality is that it is basically a nice theme, which on Android could have been implemented and tweaked with a simple launcher.

I am happy it has multitasking, finally!

I am most disappointed that it still has the same primitive keyboard, without the possibility of adding something like the Swiftkey app for Android, which is really light years ahead.

I am absolutely amazed that iRadio does not have Airplay capability. Between the relatively poor selection and no Airplay, iRadio is basically useless to me -- back to MOG. If you want something for free, Pandora definitely has a much better station algorithm, plus it supports Airplay, duh.... Apple is embarrassing itself.

Overall, I am happy with the update, but it is more like catching up, rather than anything innovative or exciting. It will slow the loss of market share, but without some real effort, Apple will be a niche player in mobile within a couple of years.

C+
I am quite enjoying iTunes Radio. Ditched Pandora.

What I'm finding weird is some third party apps that are a mix of iOS 6 and iOS 7. Are those apps that haven't been redesigned and certain things default to iOS 7 UI?

Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store. There's a "Use Cellular Data" toggle there that will prevent updates and other content from being transferred while on a cellular connection.

Of course iTunes Radio has Airplay. What are you talking about?

As with most Apple releases, the zillion under-appreciated "small things" add up to more, in daily use, than the catchy headline features.

Not a solution. If I do that I can't play my iTune Match content, or iTunes Radio. It needs to have its own independent setting for this.

How about blocking "Blocked" calls?

That's more annoying than blocking specific person. And that feature pretty much kills the entire reason for it.

I haven't updated it yet but I hope you can deny or block "blocked" calls.

Yeah thats a good point....that is the one of the only really useful features in the update.

Just realized they dropped panoramic backgrounds from the final ios 7 build

bummer, that was one of the coolest features

Very lame...

I find myself liking 7 more than I thought I would. My '5' is much faster. So far my only request is to be able to change the color of the fonts. Black to me, would be better than white.

iOS 7 doesn't look nearly as good on iPhone 4 than it does on iPhone 5. Got both sitting side by side - everything looks so cramped up on the 3.5" screen, not sure why. And definitely doesn't run as smoothly with the A4. Ugh...

I'm not digging the AirDrop requirements...

It's bad enough, that if I want to use it, I have to upgrade my iPhone (4S) and my iPad (G3)... But now it can't be used with my Macs?

Definitely not cool.

Air drop is specifically a hardware feature. Your hardware has to have enough "MIMO" antennas to stay connected to the regular wi-fi network, and split one off for a dedicated channel. It's the same physical chip that lets your a AirPort Extreme run two network SSID's at the same time.

Control Center, not impressed

This "shortcut" is not really useful. I still had to go to "Bluetooth" in order to select the desired speaker and when a friend called I was knocked off the App which required I go back to "Bluetooth". Did I miss something? The only convenience I find is there are fewer layers to "Bluetooth".

This is something you can actually change. Go to general/accessibility in settings and look for "bold text". The end result looks a bit more like iOS6.

Thank you. I was looking how to make the font more visible.

The font color is dependent on the background. Try changing your wallpaper to white and you will get a black font.

Why do I have to squint to see the outline of the "Paste" button now?

First person to say "Oh just use a different background" gets a sock in the nose for missing the point. You don't blame the user for bad design decisions.

Looks and acts like Android 2 years ago. Step in up :apple:

It looks like MIUI, but without the stability issues and poor translations that come with reverse-engineering it to run on [Evo 4G].

I wish the color scheme would change depending what environment you were in.

Example: bright environment = bright/light interface, dark environment = gray/black interface.

Apple's Newsstand app can also be put away into a folder now.

Well, that's worth the download all by itself. ;)

Overall, I like iOS 7... Enough that the third-party app icons and screens look woefully antiquated now. Look forward to finding new little tidbits in the iOS over the coming weeks.

finally data control and saving $$$$ when roaming

"Cellular Data Usage: iOS 7 provides an overview of the amount of data that each app uses. Go to Seeings > Cellular and scroll down to the bottom to view the amount of data that apps are using. It is also possible to toggle Cellular Data usage on and off for specific apps that are eating up a significant amount of data when on a Cellular connection. "

Finally! I am still using a phone back from the time of the dinosaurs (a blackberry). While overall I can't stand this device there is one feature that makes is kick-ass for international travel: almost zero data usage for email. Up until now the iphone data has either been on or off which means you have a hoice between a $200 cell phone bill and getting your email. The blackberry uses so little data (pennies really) that I can travel to the US from Canada for a week without worrying about having a data plan. Now it looks like I will be able to do the same thing with my iphone 5s...

Thanks! That looks much better. Pity I can't change it on the app.

Is anyone having trouble accessing spotlight search? I try swiping down and all i get is the notification screen.

Or does it have to be enabled?

My iPhone 5 was perfectly fine before the update. iOS 7 killed the battery life. I turned off background updates, parallax, etc. and it still sucked. They did a reset at the Apple store and it drained 20% in 20 minutes. They swapped out to replacement 5 with iOS 6, and that's where I'm staying.
