Can't restore.

"The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build.". WTF.

Edit)
I downloaded iOS 8.0.1 ipsw file and restoring...
It displays again "This device isn't eligible for the requested build."

Edit2)
I downloaded iOS 8.0.0 ipsw file and updated using "option+update". It works again.

I totally don't have access to a computer now, won't do until later today, and I use my phone for business purposes... now what?

Don't know if it is possible for you - for now, I have forwarded my calls to another phone while this mess is sorted out

What the **** with this company? Now I have to deal with restoring my phone and taking all that time because of their ****up?

They need to get this stuff right. Smartphones are essentially commodities now -- the differentiation comes down to the OS. If iOS loses its rep for high quality and ease of use, that's not a good thing.

This seems planned to stop bend gate news. Bloomberg reporting it and interviewing the video maker that's gone viral. This is apple response to "kill the noise"

Updated my 5s, works fine with both TouchID and Cell. Doesn't help those with the issue, but just a counterpoint that it doesn't seem to be all phones. Canadian carrier and network, maybe that makes a diff?

Lovely. I started the update on my iPhone 6 and saw this. switched it to Airplane Mode. Will it time out on its own, or is there some way to abort/cancel the download.

Maybe it's a good thing that I haven't been able to update my iPad Air or iPad 3 yet. The download fails repeatedly.

T-Mobile Germany / TouchID working but no service. Doing a restore to 8.0 and my iCloud backup and then maybe an update through iTunes to 8.0.1 . There goes my evening...

I'm especially glad now that I didn't update. I've been testing battery life on my iPhone 6 Plus. On day two now, but since my battery was at 41% it wouldn't update. Didn't want to plug it in and ruin my test. So glad I didn't! I downloaded the update though, which took a while for some reason and drained my battery a few percent in the process. Hopefully everything is in the clear by this evening.

QUESTION: What if Apple pushes out a fix and I've already downloaded the last broken update but haven't installed it? Will it somehow reset or will I be forced to install the shoddy update and then the good one?

My 2 AT&T locked phones are showing no service but my unlocked phone is working perfectly fine.

I like how fast Apple delivers new updates in comparison to past. Shame they didn't test it properly :(

Never update business critical software straight away...

So they create more bad press to quiet the bad press...if this were true, may be time to sell apple stocks...might do this anyway...

Restart the phone, let it download, there will be a button under settings once the update is verified that says install now, don't hit it :)

Wow, this is getting bad. Maybe Apple revoked the activation keys for this version of iOS so it's not even showing up as valid? I remember a long time ago I had to do a DFU restore or something like that. Have you tried that? Google it to find out how.
