Good to know the improvement in this beta release. Unfortunately I don't have any extra phone to try this out. I might put this on my iPad Mini, but it's not as fun as on iPhone.

Beta 2 resolved 7 of the 16 bugs that I filed so that's moving in the right direction! As far as what's remaining...

Apps that crash on launch:
- WeChat
- HBOgo
- Listastic

Apps launch but have bugs:
- MyFitnessPal
- YouTube
- Facebook
- AppSwitcher (native)
- Calendar (native)

Unfortunately, whatsapp is still crashing with beta 2.

With Beta 1 I had the same problem. With certain conversations whatsapp crashed. I noticed that it is related to the conversation. Once that conversation was deleted from the conversation list (modify - delete), I was able to chat again with the same person once I started new conversation.

I noticed that it was for example a web link that made it crash. I do not know what else (photos?).

Of course that is a pain in the butt if you have to delete a group conversation and request the admin to re invite you, but anyway that was a workaround for me.

I have not installed Beta 2 yet.

for anyone going back to 7.1.1 you'll need to delete the icloud backup on the device, if you backed up to icloud on ios 8 beta 2, before backing up with 7.1.1 again or it'll just bug & fail & give some random date a few days earlier saying thats your last backup (when its not), spent an hour resetting settings and reinstalling 7.1.1 before simply deleting the backup..it wont just overwrite it like usual

I've just had a couple of instances where I was on a call using the EarPods and I hit the sleep button so I could stick the phone in my pocket, and the call dropped. Returned me to the dialler screen so wasn't a crash. Wonder if this is now by design.

On iOS7 i used to do this all the time and the call kept going.

Anybody know why predictive text isn't showing up? Bug maybe? I have toggles the auto correction hoping it would fix it but to no avail. It's not even showing up while I'm typing this :O

Swipe up in that gray space in between keyboard and text bar.

Anyone else with this issue? On my Verizon iPhone 5 the attachments show as downloading but they appear in the details screen. Picture show up fine on my iPad. I've restored several times but the problem persists. Not a deal breaker just an annoyance

This is why you always back up to iTunes prior to installing betas. Keep both!

I agree that including iBooks and Podcasts is a bit sad because fixes to those apps will need to be adressed with an entire OS update.

One thing I like about the podcast app is that it has a built in sleep timer that works independently from the one under clock. I'd wish this function would end up in the music app when listening to audiobooks.

I sometimes forget to change between stop playing and an alarm sound when using the timer in clocks which usually results in a timer that doesn't sound when it should and sometimes sounds when i should be sleeping.

iPad 4 and 4G on EE in the UK

Just updated to beta 2.

Now iPad 4 won't make a 4G connection.

Toggle is shown and I've changed it back and forth.
Have Reset All Setting and Reset Network Settings
Have restarted

Still no go.

It's not a location issue as another device connects 4G will all bars and this iPad has always had 4G in this location. Have also tried 2 different locations.

Worked fine with beta 1

Same here on iPhone 5, EE. Weird thing is last night after updating OTA to beta 2 I had 4G. This morning I had 3G showing and toggle in settings was enable 3G. Rebooted and this changed to enable 4G but it wont connect to a 4G network.

Very annoying!

When getting a notification on home screen and you swipe right to open it up, it won't take you to its designated app.

This is very odd because I am on 3 mobile and seems like 4G connection is pretty good after updating to beta 2 :)

iOS 8.0 Beta 2 Bug Fixes and Changes

The battery percentage keeps disappearing on my iPad 3 despite being turned on....

Edit: and Tapatalk keeps crashing when I try to add a screen shot of it =\

Edit 2: tried adding the photo from my iPhone 5 and it didn't crash but it wouldn't even select the most recent photo =\

Worst. Blurring. Ever.

Predictive Text Toggle

Apologies if this was in Beta 1. If you have more than one keyboard installed, holding down the button used for switching keyboards (on the lower left of the keyboard), now has a toggle for predictive text. This performs the same function as swiping on the grey bar above the keyboard.

FaceTime rear camera still not operating correctly. When on a FaceTime call if you tap the rear camera, the person on the other end of the call can see it, but you can't see it turn around. You just see the front facing view.

----------

Ok where are these other keyboards to install?

They won't be available until ios8 is released to the public and developers put them out. Apple has its own keyboard which you're using now.

If you zoom out on a Safari page on iPad (didn't try on iPhone), you now get to the new tab view in case you're not zoomed in.
I think this is quite annoying, especially if you accidentally zoom out or you want to make sure you're not zoomed in. In Apple's defense, if you pinch slowly and not abruptly, it does not go to the new tab overview.

In the precious beta I noticed that video playback wasn't paused when using control center on my iPad. It seems fixed now. Although I liked when it didn't pause the video playback.
