Anyone else on beta 1 having settings crash when you go into iCloud -> photos?

I have iCloud Photo Library enabled if that makes a difference.

iOS 8.1 beta 1 Fixes/Changes/Improvements

I did. Posted about it yesterday I think. Go to the photos and camera section in settings and it works just fine. Still, it is a bug they should have fixed in the next beta.

I skipped over it in the notes and was thrown off, myself.

I'm very interested in the changes to Apple Maps and traffic.

Google Maps is currently my go-to for navigating and traffic monitoring and avoidance. I'd love to use Apple's solution as it's better integrated into the OS, but it's still not at the same level as Google.

For example in Google Maps I can simply look at the color of the ETA text to tell if I'm going to hit delays up ahead (green, yellow, and red). I can also zoom out to any level while navigating and the speed color coding is visible at all times. Not in Apple maps. Finally, Google constantly checks for alternate routes and tells me if I can save time going a different way.

Has any of this changed in 8.1 Apple Maps?

Anyone with iOS 8.1 on an iPhone 6 or 6+ who was having Wifi disconnect issues with 8.0: Are you still having them?

Just curious if they managed to whack that bug yet.

Other than that, any showstoppers? I'm thinking of biting the bullet and upgrading my 6 to 8.1 beta. Living on the bleeding edge can be fun. :)

I downloaded Yosemite GMAIL and can say sms relay works with 8.1 and Yosemite GM...

How did you get it to work with your mac?

I turned on the "Text message forwarding" toggle, and i don't get an activation code on my mac!

all i get is a bouncing Messages app icon on my dock and when it opens nothing happen.

Can any iTunes Match users on 8.1 say if deleting songs from iTunes now actually deletes the songs from iOS in the Music app? Since iOS 8, any songs deleted off iCloud in iTunes won't delete in iOS.

Thanks!

Try turning the text forwarding toggle off and on. That should trigger the popup screen on your Mac.

I am on 8.1beta1 on ipad and iphone - Call foward is working perfect but sms is not. I got the popup and activated it, but its not working. Non imessage numbers show red and can't be send

Any way to repeat the activation?

It's a beta so it's anything but stable.

 do u have expierence trying it? im sure its happened at least once to u in any way, that a "beta" version of software was better than a previous or future "stable/public" build..

Just curious if this is a stable release to use as a daily driver?

its fine with my iphone 6, battery usage is the same but standby battery has improved a little

I haven't heard any complaints and I see no reason why it wouldn't be stable. The issue that I fear is that some third party apps may not play nice with iOS 8.1.

Ah ok. The bluetooth thing is really driving me crazy and I read in another article that the bluetooth issues I'm having are resolved in 8.1

I have not had any disconnect issues yet but speed is another story

I'd like to know this as well. I'm seeing songs still listed or duplicates one being an Uploaded track the other being a Matched track.

iOS 8.0 betas were completely hit and miss. Whilst non of them broke my phone (except for the GM...) it's still not advisory for people to put beta software on main devices just in case.

Well I jumped in. Running 8.1 now. Made a backup to my Mac before so rolling back is easy.

So far no issues; tried all my favorite apps.

BTW anyone think the new Transmit app is the most amazing thing ever? I love being able to select a crapload of photos and zap them to my computer without having to sync or use the cloud.

Same here. Anyone?

I deleted a song on iTunes and it sent a sync message over to the device I'm assuming cause the trobber started at the top but the song stayed on my device. I then played the song to see if it was still located on the cloud and it the trobber went off/on continuously as if it was trying to locate the song on the cloud continuously.

Even restarting and turning on and off the device didn't belp.

I had to turn on / off iTunes match for that endless trobber spinning to end.

Upon turning it back on, the song that was deleted wasn't listed anymore.
