I'm hearing Health isn't working all too well. Just wondering if anyone's having problems with tracking steps, etc, in the app...Got the file from the dev center but haven't updated yet.

So can the people in this thread that think they know how the old Camera Roll and new Photos tab can possibly coexist answer this question:

Since the Photos app now properly handles photo meta data (which it has not for 7 years)....when the Photo gets placed in the proper location in the Photos tab timeline.....where is it supposed to show up in Camera Roll? As the MOST RECENT photo? Makes no sense at all.
.

The fact is, I'd like to see options for both. Sorting on various criteria seems to be a pretty common concept. Why shouldn't there be a sort button on top that lets you sort by either date taken OR date added to album? If the metadata is all there in the picture it should be possible.

Personally, I agree that if I had to choose one sorting method it would be the order in which the photos were actually taken.

How does ios8.1 sort the old new camera roll (sorry if I missed someone mentioning this)?

This I don't know as I've yet to update to 8.1 beta. I am curious though.

You people are suggesting there should be two completely different methods of organization within the same app, one respecting meta data, another NOT, as opposed to just having a smart folder called "Recently Added" (odd....exactly what was there until people complained) that could show you the photo you just downloaded.
I believe we've moved on from all of that already so as not to keep on derailing the thread even further.

Petition to rename thread to iCloud photo library vs camera roll?

I think we do also, or have a mod come in and delete half the thread.

Now back on topic, did anyone have any problems logging back into FaceTime or iMessages after updating?

The diff is now the status bar will read 'T-Mobile Wi-Fi' when WiFi calling is engaged. Before there was no way to tell if it was working.

Even on the previous beta since TMO allowed it, my 5S showed "T-Mobile WiFi" when WiFi calling was on. Has showed on official 8.0 and 8.02.

SMS relay has been turned off with all beta testing and won't be turned back on until later in October, according to Apple. More than likely, it will be with the announcement of Yosemite.

It is working for me in this new beta! settings>messages>Text message forwarding> it uses an authentication buy in method with the other iOS devices (this is new) to confirm access/ownership!

I upload my old pictures saved on my Mac over they years, let's say 500gb.
I upload them through icloud.com (there will be a photo app soon) or Yosemite photos app (in 2015).
I than get my iPhone or iPad with IPL turned on.
Do you really think it would download all these pictures, if i used the setting keep originals. The answer is NO IT WILL NOT.
THIS IS BECAUSE it is not possible, even if I use the optimised setting there is not enough Space.

SO

YES, YOU ARE WRONG if you think, like the other person, that it will download ALL pictures.
YES, YOU ARE WRONG to tell me I'm wrong, when im stating that it does not download all pictures since that would not be possible.

You are referring to one specific situation that I said I do not have answer to. However, my previous answers to all other scenarios are still correct.

Can someone test the bluetooth in their car and report back if Apple has fixed it? There's another thread going, and it seems it broke the factory bluetooth integration in about every major auto manufacturer in existence. Hopefully it's fixed.

I just updated to 8.1 and am stoked that my bluetooth is now working again in my 1 series BMW. What a pain in the a$$ that was.

Please don't break it again Apple.

It would in fact download all the pictures and video if you had enough storage space.

Instead, an Alert will appear on screen that says there is not enough space and that you should turn on Optimize.

This is exactly what happens RIGHT now, when you have more in iCloud Photo Library than the device you're trying to use has available storage.

Not a mystery.

I wasn't expecting that second authentication, glad they put in in though!

Looks like I will be staying away from this as well, I want ios 8 but I don't want all the issues that go with it.....
