Only if they merge it and keep it the same price as iTunes Match. :p

Some of us still want to use iTunes Match but don't want to pay extra to rent music.

Yeah, that's true! Also, it would be awesome for Apple Music to include this really nice feature from iTunes Match to upgrade the sound quality! If Apple Music offers this as well then it's going to be the very best music streaming service available, hands down!

Umm. So all the countless successful updates are over shadowed by what you call bugs with iTunes match.

But I don't know issues around mobile me, never used it.

Where on the Apple site does it say iTunes Match is included like some are guessing it may? 17 pages is too much to read through.

It doesn't say that, anyone who says it does is just guessing.

There are many similarities but the Apple web site says this about them.
Does Apple Music work with iTunes Match?

Yes. Apple Music and iTunes Match are independent but complementary.

Speaking about the family plan...do you think that all users will share all music matched and/or uploaded through the iTunes Match portion of Apple Music? Or each user will be completely independent from each other (apart from previously purchased music that, in accordance with iCloud Family, is available to all members of the group)?

Eddy Cue tweeted that Apple Music will include Match functionality:
https://twitter.com/cue/status/614350132918644736
In that tweet, Eddy says: "same basic features of uploading the tracks in your lib we don’t have is part of Apple Music." I think it's safe to assume Eddy is not guessing on this. Whether it will support the feature of giving you higher quality recordings than your originals remains to be seen, however.

It's not guessing it's extrapolating from what's said on Apples site.

" How does Apple Music know what songs are in my personal library?

With an Apple Music membership [emphasis mine], your entire library lives in iCloud. We compare every track in your collection to the Apple Music library to see if we have a copy. If we do, you can automatically listen to it straight from the cloud. If you have music that’s not in our catalogue, we upload those songs from iTunes on your Mac or PC. It’s all in iCloud, so it won’t take up any space on your devices."

So until we know the answer to that question we can't assume it includes iTunes Match.

It doesn't say anything about being able to download the iTunes Store version of your matches tracks which is one of the main features of iTunes Match.

She says Apple Music is not an exclusive so if she doesn't come to Spotify now then she's a hypocrite. I wonder if Led Zeppelin will be on Apple Music? I believe their catalog is exclusive to Spotify right now.

The reason her music isn't on Spotify is because it has a free tier, and she believes free access to music devalues it. (Sure, Apple Music comes with a three month free trial period, but Apple's footing the bill and everyone will have to pay long term.)

Some accuse her of being greedy, but the reality is that her position is perfectly reasonable. It's her music, and she can sell it however she likes. Plus her stand on this was the right thing to do and will be immensely beneficial to indie labels and artists who faced either getting close to nil revenue from the iTunes Store when conventional purchases collapse for three months, or skipping the free trial period and missing out on the initial stages of what could potentially be a major deal in the music industry.

For what it's worth, I think the Beats 1 radio part is the most interesting element of the whole thing. And if you're worried it'll be overly focused on mainstream pop/rock/rap, well, they've no doubt named it with Beats 2/3/4/etc in mind in the future! I think Apple's focus on curation at this point will mean avoiding bombarding people with too many options from the start. Also, it's probably why the window between iOS 8.4's launch and the start of Beats 1 is only an hour. If they did it a day before, people would tap it after updating, it'd be offline (or broadcasting placeholders) and they'd roll their eyes and likely never touch it again.

and to my earlier point, I think Apple will shaft the current Match Users. They show little attention to it now so they'll drop it within 12m and we'll be forced into Apple Music or elsewhere

It's the same with iTunes Match, just with DRM. If you have songs less than 256 Kbps AAC it will upgrade those.

Songs/Playlists/everything else from other members of the family will be independent.

But the ones from iTunes Match don't have that restriction, which is why not all of us want Apple Music to replace it.

True. And it's much cheaper. $25 vs $120. Different strokes for different folks. For me I'll use Apple Music for discovery. When I find an album I love I'll buy vinyl. :)

I dont know if this has been discussed but I am getting a trailer on repeat on Beats 1. First I have heard this.
