iOS 8 app updates

Yeah, just go through the process of purchasing something and when you check out, instead of asking for your password, it gives you the option to use touch id.
Hmm, weird. It says improvements "in preparation for iOS 8". I'll try downloading it.
True, but hopefully they could at least make a widget that launches the app and brings up the compose new tweet/status update window. It wouldn't be as useful as the old way but it's better than nothing.
Then just go into notification center and go down to edit and add NYT Now. There isn't an app setting.
Right, I know how to do that. Just thought the description of the update was odd. They made it sound like they made improvements in preparation for iOS 8. No mention of new features.
Amazon just had a 4.2.0 update. Apparently you can sign in with Touch ID. I signed out and still had to get in with my email/password. Not seeing any Touch ID option anywhere. Aw
Edit: Didn't read all the posts before mine. Yes, it's only for confirming purchases for ease of use. No logging into the app with your thumb.

I am a huge fan of LastPass. I love that it is cross platform, cheap and secure.
The new integration in iOS 8 is fantastic. The only thing I would like to see going forward is if they could somehow integrate with other applications login screens (similar to how the app works with Android) The web stuff is great but I find that I need to enter passwords into applications just as often. Maybe Touch ID will replace that need as more apps elect to use that.

Epson iprint says it's been updated to support NFC connection on some models. Thought NFC was being limited to payments....
NYTimes for iPad adds Widget, Handoff capability and interactive notifications (read or share from the notification)

Still no updates for the top apps like Facebook, YouTube, etc. What the... Are they still learning Swift?
i think they are being held from being released till after iOS 8 is officially out so maybe this afternoon? i don't know. they could also still be working on these apps.. its hard to say. hopefully sooner rather then later.
Facebook just got updated from 14.1 to 14.9
no idea if it includes any iOS 8 features because the release notes are the same as the last several releases
instagram also just got an update "supports iOS 8 devices"
still the god awful iOS 6 looking icon and looks like no iOS 8 features.

Not showing in UK store yet. Hopefully not too long. Although Apple's servers will be imploding in about 30 minutes anyway

yeah nothing too exciting for Facebook or Instagram just iOS 8 support at most.
