Yeah, just go through the process of purchasing something and when you check out, instead of asking for your password, it gives you the option to use touch id.

Oh.. But you can't log in to the app with it? Weak

I don't see a NYT update for iOS 8.

'NYT Now' not the regular New York Times app

Notification Center doesnt allow keyboard access so keep looking forward....

True, but hopefully they could at least make a widget that launches the app and brings up the compose new tweet/status update window. It wouldn't be as useful as the old way but it's better than nothing.

Amazon just had a 4.2.0 update. Apparently you can sign in with Touch ID. I signed out and still had to get in with my email/password. Not seeing any Touch ID option anywhere. Aw

Edit: Didn't read all the posts before mine. Yes, it's only for confirming purchases for ease of use. No logging into the app with your thumb.

Lastpass thought

I am a huge fan of LastPass. I love that it is cross platform, cheap and secure.

The new integration in iOS 8 is fantastic. The only thing I would like to see going forward is if they could somehow integrate with other applications login screens (similar to how the app works with Android) The web stuff is great but I find that I need to enter passwords into applications just as often. Maybe Touch ID will replace that need as more apps elect to use that.

I think that developers can add lastpass, or 1p extensions to their apps, so you would be able to do what you just wrote.

Has anyone got the Amazon update in the UK?

Also, Vimeo has just been updated with iOS 8 extension capability which means "slicker uploading and sharing than ever before."

Not showing in UK store yet. Hopefully not too long. Although Apple's servers will be imploding in about 30 minutes anyway :D
