That's not really what that particular one and some similar ones are for.

Do you know which ones? I'm curious. I've only seen icons pop up in that corner when handoff is at work. Works for the majority of the Apple apps I believe.

Little annoyances, but to be expected:

  • iMessage continues saying "sending" when the message has already be sent
  • In Settings when you choose to go back a page, it doesn't take you back to where you were, takes you back to the top
  • After taking a photo, if you clock on the preview, it doesn't take you to that actual photo
  • Lots of re-springs

Reported a bug to Apple today

seems like the App Store continually pulls Location Services despite being told not to. If you turn Location Services off, the message "turn location services on for App Store" (paraphrasing) immediately pops up. Not sure why it's happening, but it's absolutely decimating my battery life.

Seems like my safari is eating up my battery I see Safari eating 28% of my battery with "background activity" but I disabled background refresh and I'm seeing the loading icon on top constantly turning.

Yep...set it to never and rebooted and that fixed it yesterday but it got stuck on again a few hours ago and nothing I do will fix it. Had to just turn off location services completely.
Hope we get beta 2 soon!

restore from iCloud doesn't work for me I read maybe the first 5 pages and didn't see anything on here. Anyone else Having the Same issue?

iMessage does not work at all for me on iOS 8. I am unable to receive or send iMessages.
Along with that, I can not send pictures in texts or iMessages.

Slide to unlock seems to lower itself sometimes. I actually like it more haha

I find that I get more or less no data movement at all despite full bars and full reception. Calls fine, and everything works fine on wifi, but as soon as I go onto data only, nothing opens, no texts, no webpages. Have reset etc, doesn't change.

How about when connected to wifi ?

iPad Air (non cellular) is loosing the WLAN connection sometimes iPhone 5s next to it stays connected.

Both in iOS 8 beta 1.

Anyone else getting a message that their charger isn't an authorized device? I'm getting it and I'm using my Apple charger

Has anyone tried any MFi certified 3rd party cables? Neither my Monoprice or Amazon certified cables are recognized by my 5s. No charging or aux output in my car (and I tested the cables with my wife's 5s still on 7.1.1 and they work). I submitted a bug report yesterday, just wanting to see if anyone else had experienced this.

Check that the lightning port doesn't have a bunch of pocket lint in it. Wives typically keep the phone in a purse but guys keep in pocket. Just to check. I used a small paper clip when I had the same issue on 7.

My ringer volume remains the same (too loud for my liking) despite moving the slider in the Sounds menu of Settings. The volume buttons have no effect either.

4S, clean install.

Is anyone else having issue with continuous location on, i have switched location off for everything except find my iphone, but can see purple icon on app store which is i presume using location ( even though it is set to Never) and phone is getting very hot.

I understand it is beta but if anyone have any solution to this, please share, in the mean time i have turned off location all together.

I',m experiencing this issue with my iphone 5, location icon is always on, when I check settings it's the App Store app that is pulling my location even though I set it as Never... the phone gets very hot too, so far only the iphone 5 seems to be affected by this bug

I am experiencing the same issue, but I am using a 5S, clean install. I haven't noticed it getting hot, but that could be due to me catching it early on and shutting off location services. I have noticed that it only happens when I am no longer connected to my wifi network.

No, it's not that. The cable I use works when plugged into a laptop or wall charger but not in any cars. My Audi AMI cable (different cable) also doesn't work at all.

Yup, no luck with the USB ports of a rental Challenger and Charger. Doesn't work with my Audi's AMI cable, either. The Audi doesn't see the phone at all and the Challenger just said it was an incompatible USB device.

I'm in a Nissan Juke (wife has a Nissan Murano) and it doesn't work in either. Her bluetooth audio works fine though.

It's definitely not only on the 5, it's been reported numerous times in this thread (and when I reported to Apple I got an email back saying it was a duplicate bug so it's clearly a known issue)

Only fix for now is keep location services turned off unless you need them.

I didn't want to start a new thread on this, but has blocking been removed or something?

I see no block contact button anymore
