This happens in 7.1 too. It's because in one of your tabs, it has a player which plays out music or a video. Close that tab and you should not have that problem.

Really? I didn't come across it in iOS 7.1.

I only had the one tab open and I think I was opening 9to5Mac, I doubt that has music on the site.

Very annoying.

What makes you think this is a bug and not intended?
It's definitely not intended because there's no transition when you go to the home screen, the status bar just pops in. And if you go into the App Switcher from the home screen, it stays as it always has. It isn't always the same.

Maybe we will see in the next beta. Not everything is as smooth as it should be right now.

Here, comparison of iOS 8 beta 4 and 5 control centers. Notice that not only is the beta 5 control center remarkably brighter, but it seems to be stretched a bit. While it is one pixel higher at the top end, the AirDrop button is lower on beta 5, thus the space between items or the items themselves have been enlarged. See screenshot below for clarification.
Same wallpaper (default) used for both screenshots.

I noticed the same thing about the white. I don't like it.

Photos taken with the camera app have blank (grey) thumbnails in the Photo app. If you click on the blank thumbnail, the photo appears and the thumbnail will temporarily appear until you close the photo app.

People should not add comments like "blah blah is different for me" in the wiki post, they should word it so that it is general. Add something like "for some users" if you don't have the same experience.

When I go to Spotlight Search in General Serttings, my options for Spotlight Suggestions and Bing Web Results are NOT checked and when I cannot enable those. Anybody else?

Not sure if this was already posted but it looks like the do not disturb moon icon on the status bar is lighter and more transparent.

Guys no status bar on home screen is a thing on iOS 7 too, I don't think it's a bug at all since it makes perfect sense to me.
Also, was it possible to slide from the right in mail and have it delete the message with a single swipe? I didn't notice it in b4, it certainly doesn't work in iOS 7.

App store updates.

Any one else having a problem with the app store? My iPhone will not show any updates for apps in the app store.

EDIT: Just realized mine is working except for the app Ingress. It just will not update to the newest version.

I've noticed that when updating an app, there isn't that little blue indicator telling you the app has been updated but I believe that was a problem before beta 5.

There is a status bar above the home screen in your screenshot. By "Home Screen" it means the preview of it, not the top of the screen. The preview of the Home Screen is missing a status bar depending on how you go into multitasking. Watch the video that is linked after it.
The screenshots should also clarify it.

Sorry, I see now.

I filed a bug about app switcher performance degrading in Beta 4 and my bug requested more information. I have hope that people at Apple actually care about performance. Beta 5 continues with similar slow performance seen in iOS 7.

Turns out spotlight suggestions are not yet available outside the U.S...
But omg I'm such a hacker lol I set my region to U.S. and now I get them too... Don't you think I could be the next Pangu hacker?? Omg im genius [/irony]

Edit: dang it.. People said that already. But I had the idea myself I'm still genius lol [/irony]
