I just noticed that when the flash is set to auto, this flash indicator pops up when the scene is dark. When I turn the camera towards the brighter TV, that lite icon went away and the flash didn't fire.

Was this feature available before?

I think it might be a feature they added idk if it's a bug or not.

The status bar is a mess in this beta. If you're in Safari and watch a video in portrait, the status bar doesn't go away when the controls do.
And it won't go away when viewing photos in the Messages app.

Running b5 and it is solid. Fewer glitches as it's leading up to the next and hopefully last beta before the GM drops. I just can't wait to see the iOS on a larger screen however not looking forward to the sea of app updates resized to fit the new screen size...

Here, comparison of iOS 8 beta 4 and 5 control centers. Notice that not only is the beta 5 control center remarkably brighter, but it seems to be stretched a bit. While it is one pixel higher at the top end, the AirDrop button is lower on beta 5, thus the space between items or the items themselves have been enlarged. See screenshot below for clarification.

This has been happening to me since at least Beta 3. I hate it.

This happens in 7.1 too. It's because in one of your tabs, it has a player which plays out music or a video. Close that tab and you should not have that problem.
