As a user of both Windows and OSX, it sounds like you don't know how to use Windows.

As far as the bluetooth issue.. In the two cars I use it in, one has been flawless, the other will have intermittent connectivity issues ranging from a delayed connection, to perhaps not connecting at all. This happens about 10% of the time.

Been and admin of Windows based stuff for about 14 years now. I know how to use it and I know the issues it has/had.

I do every day. I think you've been away from Windows too long. It works quite nicely.

Oh, and MINOR issues? Take off the rose tinted sunglasses, bub.

When it wants to. For the most part it's not bad. However, it's not nearly as seamless as OS X. See my response above, no rose tinted glasses here. Trust me on that one. Just stating the obvious. Apple has had some hiccups lately but nothing near as bad as MS.

I drive a 2012 Buick Regal Turbo and I couldn't connect my iPhone 5 after the iOS 8.0 update. However, after iOS 8.0.1 was released, my problem was resolved.

2014 Lexus GS F-Sport, no problems. Also no problems on the Kenwood unit in my Honda. If repairing is the fix for people with issues as I've heard, I wonder why this is still getting so much attention. Must be something else going on here...

iPhone 5s and 6 on 8.0.2 with a Novaro Trusty One, after market hands free. Works just fine.

As a huge Apple fan, I have to say this is the worst roll-out of products and services in the company's history. And right when they needed to blow the world away...

Yes it is, but the problems will be fixed and life will go on. People will forget about the problems just as quickly as they reared their ugly heads.

Be optimistic, little butterfly.

That is just as likely to be an issue with your Bluetooth system in your car as with your phone.

maybe, maybe not, but it's never happened before. i know we've had both cars powered up in the garage together but not sure of the tethering status.

also i was impressed with the range because it would happen whenever i was within 20 feet or so of her car, the i6 would pick it up, despite being down low and having to get thru so much metal.

still, why would the phone switch between two bluetooth speakers without being commanded to do so? you'd think that if the user selected one, then it should stick with one even if others come and go. does the car side have the ability to break an existing BT connection with another car?

iPhone 4S running iOS 8.0.2. 2011 Mazda 3. Play bluetooth audio and make phone calls all the time. NO PROBLEMS REPORTED HERE.

No, the media now takes every tiny issue and blows it out of proportion. MacRumors reports this a widespread without even having numbers to back it. Is it 10%, 50%, 2% or less? Or is it a tiny yet vocal minority?
I'll weigh in as an iPhone 6 user who has had no issues and am very happy.
And it pairs just fine with my 2010 Prius.

I had a weird issue where SIRI would connect to my car, even though SIRI hadn't been invoked. That went away after a little while.

Having big trouble in my Ford. It used to work perfect for all my family`s iphones but now it sucks. I thought it was the cars software, but with this article I am sure that it is ios8.

No issues with Uconnect in my Jeep.

Not during iOS 8 beta, not on the GM, not during public release, not doing 8.0.2, and not now on 8.1 beta.

You would think with all the non-developers that insist on installing beta software, they would actually test it/use it and report some bugs during the beta period.

Honestly, i was about to say something in the same light. iOS 8 has been nothing but garbage.

I've never seen so many public issues with iOS (and even OS X) before iOS 8, besides Maps in iOS 7, especially in subsequent public builds. What the hell happened to your quality control, Apple?

Bluetoothgate

Only complete mo*ons would say these things and remain with Apple. Now go to Samsung or Google and enjoy what I'm sure are perfect phone.

The vast majority of people aren't having problems. Are you guys so dense that you don't realize that there is only so much all the testing in the world can do to uncover every single bug. But no, not you guys. You are ready to drop a nuclear weapon on Cupertino. How sad you guys are.

iOS 8 is just causing a whole bunch of problems to me on my iPhone 5s.
1. Settings crash often
2. There's a huge problem with the portrait orientation when playing videos.
3.

Did you get pulled away before you could finish?

And what is the "huge problem" with videos playing in portrait orientation? Can you elaborate with specific?

1. Wifi
2 Cloud services
3. Bluetooth

100% of every damn device I have ever owned by this company has failed in one of those categories.

Strange how with the hundreds (no exaggeration) of Apple devices I'm responsible for....these things are never a problem.

You should probably use a few Windows machines and devices to experience the hell that comes with them before you start chastising Apple over something minute.

I'll take these minor issues over that ANY day. ;)

So the fanboy "yeah duh but someone else is bad too" defense? How unexpected. Difference between MS and Apple's products is that MS has to make an OS that works with everything. Comparing the two is stupid beyond words.

It's easy to put the spotlight on the missteps that Apple has been making, but what about looking at everything that they've done right and good?

Works fine in my 2012 Volt!

I have an iPhone 6+ running 8.0.2.

I'm so happy to hear this... and sad at the same time. I lost Bluetooth connectivity for the first time yesterday. Just happened randomly and I'm on 8.0.2.

Seriously I had the same exact experience/description of what happened in my car before updating to 8.1! The exact same thing! Make sense now. I was confused because I have a 2014. Odd but I'm glad 8.1 has fixed this for me!

Mostly works with 2014.5 Camry, but text alerts do not come up on screen any longer which is annoying. There have been a few quirks with it auto pairing but that has only happened once or twice since getting the 6. Overall iOS8 roll out has been a embarrassment. :(

Hi. What does 2014.5 mean?
