As a huge Apple fan, I have to say this is the worst roll-out of products and services in the company's history. And right when they needed to blow the world away...

True, but the spotlight is on Apple more than ever before. No one really cares, nor does anyone ever hear about issues about Android bugs with compatibility and connectivity problems. iOS is far more stable state. Also, like the problems windows faces with trying to run on a range hardware Microsoft has no control over, Apple can't possibly test every car. Samsung could be having issues with their Galaxy Gear, but no one knows or cares.

I didn't know software bugs were a new thing in the tech world. When a bug pops up in iOS now everyone goes ape*****.

No problems here using an iPhone 6 iOS 8.0 to 8.0.2 paired with my Pebble, hands free system on my Chevy Trax, and my Grain Audio mini speaker. All worked. I did have to re-pair the devices and forget the older setting I had as it was connected to my 5 previously.

Bluetooth iOS 8 fix

Bluetooth iOS 8 fix

I figured out how to fix the all Bluetooth issues. Go to settings, general, reset, reset all settings. Don't worry this won't delete any data. Once this is done. Bluetooth is back to normal. Restoring or upgrading doesn't seem to fix the issue. But resetting all settings does the trick!

I am still experiencing the issue with Bluetooth after upgrading to 8.1 beta. It plays music through Bluetooth fine, but the phone call part is a disaster. I have a 2012 Mazda 3. Same issue on my wife's mazda and my dads Honda. Tried both iPhone 6 and 6+. Ironically my 5s running iOS 8 beta didn't have any issues.

I think Apple has gotten so big now that all the hiring they have to do has lowered their quality talent.
They were much better as a smaller, tighter controlled Co. IMHO.

I have no issues what so ever with my BMW 5 MY2013 and iPhone 5.
To have everything working ok do the following steps.
1. Remove the car connection from your devices in the Bluetooth settings from your phone.
2. Remove your phone from the connections in your car.
3. Very important! Shut down your phone and restart.
4. Pair your phone with your car.

This worked for me and also a few other people with Bluetooth connection issues.

My system connects via Lightning instead of Bluetooth, but I've also had trouble. Since I got my iPhone 6, whenever I connect the phone, I have to wait about ten seconds. I'll get a message that says "This device is incompatible with this iPhone." I then disconnect and reconnect it and it works after that. It's very bizarre.

Same having issues with my Alpine system - temp solution is to connect via AUX cable and let the tunes travel

Weird thing is that iOS 8 actually SOLVED a Bluetooth issue between my phone and my 2012 Mazda3. Starting around iOS 7.1 (or 7.1.1), I started noticing that the turn-by-turn directions would cut off mid-sentence if I didn't also play streaming audio at the same time. I suspected this might have come from Apple's battery drain fixes.

After installing iOS 8, the turn-by-turn directions work fine without any other streaming audio playing.

The only Bluetooth issue I've noticed with iOS 8 is that when I receive an incoming call or use the steering wheel controls to place a new call, my car goes searching for a Bluetooth device all over again. It's like my Bluetooth audio stream for music gets dropped, and rather than seamlessly switching over to the phone function, it goes back into search mode. Not a huge deal, except that the first few seconds of the call don't get routed through my car's Bluetooth.

No problems here on 5s iOS8.0.2 in Toyota Prado 2014 - had some issues with iOS7 but pretty reliable, also works fine with the Toyota Hilux 2014 model too.

You are Pairing it wrong!

My IP6 is unable to pair with any device. I assumed it was operator error for several days — maybe something subtle I was missing in iOS 8. But yesterday the Genius Bar found the same thing after completely erasing the phone and setting up as new. Apple is replacing the unit under warranty.

i just wish these stories had 'percentage of users' stats readily available. i'm not going to prtend it's not possible apple is taking hits they deserve, but i also never know how many people this actually affects. the reality distortion field went from one of Steve Jobs' traits to being the media's trait regarding everything apple.

count me as one of the lucky ones(?).. no problems ever with Mavericks, and no apparent ios8 bugs on 8.0 barring a few crashes in general settings. i'll wait to update once A) users stop having problems or B) i figure out how problematic it really is. catching wind of the same story from 10-20 publications per day isn't helping me any.

I'm have issues connecting to my Mac actually. The delete option is greyed out for my computer and there's two copies of my computer in my phone's list.

i've got this problem in i5s with iOS 8.0. i really wish Apple start working even more debuging their software before releasing even more versions, both Mac and iOS, is great to have security updates and updates to increase compatibility but the number of bugs is just a joke. ("oh but iOS is so stable", yes, but only in the last 6 months of life of the version where you already are, in the x.y.z version! and in some time a new update totally buggy will come out), so better they release less versions but "condence" their work into this versions :)

This is...

...totally unacceptable.

The focus should be developing/creating the best products and services and being totally laser focused. Apple under Cook have been too politically motivated thinking this is what will enhance its reputation. Wrong. This is the difference between Jobs and Cook. The former may have been ruthless but with good reason. He got a grip of the key team and ensured that their best was that final ounce they could muster to materialise the incredible.

Under Cook and Ive it is seemingly clear that this ability is what is costing Apple it's reputation. I'm embarrassed as a user of Apple products. I said previously at the iOS 8 release that Cook had 1 week to get a grip. He hasn't, he won't, therefore he needs to go. He won't be an ounce close to ever being SJ.

This has been a damning turn of events. Worst rollout of products and services ever.

Aftermarket Kenwood stereo and Jawbone IconHD here. iPhone 6 on 8.0.2. No connectivity issues whatsoever.

You should probably use a few Windows machines and devices to experience the hell that comes with them before you start chastising Apple over something minute.

I'll take these minor issues over that ANY day. ;)
Perhaps you should? My Win7 is rock ****ing solid and has been for years outside of the hardware issues I have had.
