Well, you're saying that iOS7 is ten times better than iOS6....and yet in the main, the only difference is aesthetics.
If someone dislikes the look of the signal dots, they're being strange?

camera features on ios7 are better, keyboard is better, calendar is better, messaging is better, notifications is better, control center is better, air drop, multitasking, safari is better and so on. But, yea, let's keep the focus on dots and just how terrible dots are. Sheesh.

The camera app offers nothing amazing, the keyboard is less accurate actually, calendar is worse, messaging is the same but is spoiled by nasty colours, notifications is worse, airdrop is useless, multitasking is different but no better, safari has the potential to be better but crashes & reloads...

So I completely disagree :)

Define better. I think keyboard, calendar, and safari are worse, especially the calendar. Its all opinion. It has its positives, with control center and multitasking, but that's not worth pulling an arbitrary number and calling it that times better. When there is difference that people dislike, you will hear it. You dont have to be demeaning to everyone who thinks so. Like the era when people complaining about losing Google Maps. I saw it as no big deal, but it was a big deal to other people. Respect that.

Oh dont get me wrong, I agree with you 100%. iOS 7 was made as if you were on the design team. There is no simplicity to it at all. Swiping to go back will never make sense to me, that's the way I swipe to delete stuff. Its just confusing making such a drastic change with no guidance. Im happy with my iPhone 5 on iOS 6, and I will keep it until I break it or something. Id give Apple a little more slack with iOS 7 if they allowed firmware downgrades, I had to sell my iPads because I wanted to try iOS 7 and I immediately regret it. But back on point, Apple doesnt go back. With the whole Google Maps-Apple Maps ordeal, it only made sense to go back to google maps, but they persist on going forward with whatever choice they make.

This post is just as annoying as any other
Swiping left to right to go back seems fairly natural actually for the most part, and those who don't discover it or don't care for it can not use it without it affecting anything else that they were used to doing before. Deleting is actually a right to left swipe, so it wouldn't be affected by this (although in the early days of that feature in some versions of iOS 6 I believe Apple allowed either way to work for swipe to delete, rather than just the right to left, which they seemed to have corrected once they standardized a bit more on it).

iOS7 is 10 times better than iOS6. As far as bars vs dots, who cares? My god, it you want true signal strength just go into field test mode and have it show strength in dBm. Really, dots vs bars? That's what gets some people's undies in a bundie? Really?
Posting about it in an online forum dedicated to all kinds of discussions from people regarding iOS 7 is somehow equivalent to getting "some people's undies in a bundle"? As opposed to seemingly being so upset about that discussion on an online forum that one can easily choose not to read and certainly not to participate in so far as needing to come out to make a statement about others? Not sure which one really qualifies for getting one's "undies in a bundle".

It does, on a Mac that a new user got, or if someone has been swiping right to left to delete stuff from the beginning. Ive been swiping left to right to delete stuff on iOS for years, when they changed that with no option to turn it off, it drove me mad. Have they added a setting to disable/change this?

I don't understand how one could think that ios6 actually looks better than 7.

Let's see:

- Legible text

- Apps that had better contrast and weren't blinding white

- Buttons that actually looked like buttons

- Icons that didn't look like a cartoonish Chinese knockoff

- A superior music app

- Overall better performance and battery life

Need I say more?

Has swipe delete really existed for years? I think it was just iOS 6 that introduced it. Mainly it was right to left but they also supported left to right for some reason. It seems like they standardized it to be just right to left a little bit ago and that's what's there now for it.

Probably because looks are subjective mostly. It's almost like saying I don't understand how someone could think that green is a better color than blue.

Nope, you've said it all. So many people are blinded by Apple, that's what sad about the apple community.

Did somebody in this topic actually say iOS 7 calendar is BETTER??

LOL!!!!!

Which brings up a good point. Blue is definitely better than green.

Oh no! Its definitely been there since at LEAST iOS 4, Im at the point where I don't remember iOS3 or below, so I can't speak for those. It was a swipe either way to delete, but now they have standardized a direction. It sucks for me because on either hand I do left to right to delete :(

I understand some people just want something different because the looks have been the same for 6 years. I personally like high detail, skeumorphism, graphics, it actually requires skill to create and its just more contrast (which I prefer).

To me, this is the difference between iOS6 on the left, and iOS7 on the right. I think everything should be more high detail and less flat. Millions of dollars aren't being spent on movies to make the effects look flat :p Its just my opinion, but I think flat just looks cheap, rushed, and boring.

I Personally like IO7 on my Iphone, Like the messaging and overall theme of the system. Love the style of it, but then again I can't comment on io6 because when I got the phone it was io7 already on it.

Exactly! We live in the age of retina displays so why the hell would we not take advantage of that technology?

What's the point of having high-res displays if we're only gonna be using flat graphics and text?

They need to bring these awesome signal bars over to ios8 :p

*Disclaimer* Just joking for those who take everything serious.

Thank you for typing all this. Skeuomorphism will always be better than the flat designs in my opinion. It's sad that they let the creator of the graphics in iOS 6, leaving us with this childish and plain design. Hopefully this flat design will go away soon. I wouldn't want to see this forever.

If Apple drags out this design of iOS for too long, people will once again complain that it's going stale and getting boring just like the classic iOS. The idea is too make incremental design improvements and not all at once which is way too radical.

Hopefully, Ive will not make the same mistake as Forstall there.

The problem is that iOS 7's design was obviously designed to cater for fashion and I don't think it will stand the test of time well or can be refined OS X-style.

If iOS 7 is a "refreshing change" from classic iOS, then how "Cars 2" is not a refreshing change from Pixar classics?

iOS 7 is fresh and modern. You can't deny this. And to say something like Apple should restore iOS 6 look... Do you have used iOS 6 lately? It's looking so old and antiquated!!! I would never want to go back to iOS 6. It's like using a Walkman today.
So you should accept it. Apple will never restore iOS 6 look. In 5-10 years there will be probably a new radical design change but until then iOS 7 design approach will be the norm.
