I also think the battery drain is higher with the new iOS on my 5s, might be because the location services arrow seems to be on all the time now, in iOS7 it would go off as soon as I stopped using apps like the Maps.

Also I've notices the Setting app 'crashing' a number of times when making setting changes.

Maybe it is just me, but there seems to be a lot more location related 'stuff' in iOS 8 settings. I spent a fair amount of time going through everything to make sure it wasn't tracking my every move. I don't recall going through as much on 7.

Perhaps people are seeing a drain on battery because they are using it more often because there are new features? Everytime a new version is released, or a new iPhone, people seem to complain about the battery. I drained my iPhone 6 today because I can't stop using it, not because it has battery issues.

I know a guy who used to be an Apple Genius, and he said about 1/3rd of the people complaining about battery drain had their brightness set to 100%.

Yup....

1) Apple cannot test every WiFi router, so invariably some have issues. I never experience these because I have Apple WiFi routers (which they do test)

2) App updates come fast and furious just after an iOS upgrade and your iPhone will drain its battery all day long doing automatic updates to new versions of apps.

After a few days of app updates, my battery consumption has returned to normal. Nothing to see here.... move along.

"nothing to see here"

Oh, so I guess 8.0.1 is never coming out.

There is undoubtedly a problem with Wi-Fi on iOS 8. These results are from my iPhone 6 on Verizon. Note the first three tests I did were on Wi-Fi, with the final test on LTE. After the very first test I disabled the WiFi Networking option the original post referenced l, but to not effect.

Side note: Has anyone else noticed the clock bar at the top having major formatting issues in most apps? From my understanding, this doesn't entirely have everything to do with the app itself. I did not notice this in the developer beta.

This is exactly my same issue iPhone6 64gb, my wife's iPhone 5 with iOS8 is fine, but our iPad3 with iOS8 is having the same wi-fi issue....disaster! This s*** needs to get fixed sooner rather than later. Battery drain issues only on the iPhone6.

PS - Rediculous how many of your are so OK with this... "it's expected with a new iOS or update", let's all settle for a horrible rolled-out product, that sounds right, "just be patient and wait for the update", how bout they get it right the first time.

Battery drain and slow wifi is not an issue for my iPad Air except some app that I just updated get back to "pending updates", and when an app is being updated, I don't see the progress circle on the app icon in my Home Screen.

Am I the only one with this issue?

Slow wifi on my iPad Air and iPad Mini retina since updating to 8.0, our router is the latest Apple AC Airport Time Capsule.

iOS 8 and wifi issues.

i first noticed a problem when speedtest failed every time on my iPhone 6. This is on the 5 ghz network. On the very same network an iPhone 6 Plus has no issues whatsoever.

At that point, I assumed I might have a hardware problem.

Switched to 2.4 ghz and no problem at all. Hmm. I'd already updated my 5S to iOS 8 and hadn't noticed any issue at all. Tried speedtest on the 5S and it failed.

Was on the phone for quite a while with an Apple rep who kept putting me on hold. Eventually she put a second level tech on the phone. Again, lots of talking and being put on hold. Then told engineers would call me back. Was out on hold again for a non related issue, but gave up.

I decided to do some more research and came across a wifi calling thread where someone suggested a reset of network settings. Figured it might just work for my wifi issues on 5 ghz and sure enough it did.

So, try resetting your network settings on each device. I'm not sure why this isn't the first thing Apple techs suggest. None of them suggested it to me last night, yet that totally solved my problem.

----------

Try resetting network settings on iOS devices.

Some other issues that we are tracking include:
*•*Inability to use the 30-pin to HDMI video adapter on older devices
•*Operating system kernel panics when using the Lightning to HDMI adapters.
•*Inability to view RTF documents in the UIWebView.
•*Inability to properly render MS Word documents in the UIWebView
•*...and more...

It's a new operating system. I suppose Apple will correct these issues shortly.

Two weird bugs for me so far IOS 8 and a 4S:

No ring tone and can't adjust volume level, mute switch in non-mute mode.
When adjusting volume I can't see any bars for plus or minus volume level, had to reboot to fix.

Oscillating open/closing menu for the swipe up from bottom menu where the flash light app is at. Cant recall if a lock/unlock cleared that one.

Over all the 4S has a delay for everything, hope this is a debug mode.

i feel like people should also remember, its a new phone, and most likely (at least me) they are restoring from a backup from say the iPhone 5. My battery drained overnight while i wasn't using it, and i was so confused, but remembered the backup was downloading 14GB worth of photos back into the phone.

not everyone, but plausible cause

No Wi-Fi Problem Here on iPhone 6

iPhone 6 (with 802.11ac chip) wi-fi to Apple Time Capsule 802.11ac (5th Gen.) on Comcast.

Speedtest: Download 123.75 Mbps, Upload 12.09 Mbps

Much faster that iPhone 5S (with 802.11n) !

Every single year we get those complaints. EVERY ONE. Most times its because they changed how some things were configured, activated things that weren't activated before.

Reset your network. Look if your phone is configured in the exact same way as before. Since network downloads are the biggest battery suckers, verify you're not synching something big, etc.

I've been using my 6+ the same amount that I used my 5s. By now, my 5s would always have between 50% - 60% charge left. My 6+ is at 47% now. Not good considering the battery is twice as large.

According to AnandTech the 6 Plus is supposed to last quite a bit longer, I always wonder about these tests. I was going to get the 6 Plus but didn't like the big bezels, I'm glad I held back, I would have thought battery life would have been much better.

It seems to me that if you must be among the very first to have the very first of the very latest, you are essentially signing up to experience the very first problems that typically come with being the very first to have the very first of the very latest. No?

Only is Apple is providing a significant discount in price to the people enduring the issues.
