According to AnandTech the 6 Plus is supposed to last quite a bit longer, I always wonder about these tests. I was going to get the 6 Plus but didn't like the big bezels, I'm glad I held back, I would have thought battery life would have been much better.

Tests concluded 14h. That's more than anyone else BTW. Every single IOS update there is a lot of whining about battery life. This turns out to be true for a small fringe of people (usually for then it gets fixed by 0.01), but for most its totally a configuration difference, background downloads, the battery not being calibrated, etc.

Facebook was the main culprit.

Today still having issues and I just disable Handoff & Suggested Apps.

Currently at 51%.

Yes, facebook... And similar apps doing the same... Changes affect the way apps work... Yada Yada Yada... Seems like come kind of flashback to the last 7 years.

Apple already has plans for an iOS 8 update that's coming in the near future, bringing support for Apple Pay and several features that are currently missing from the software, including SMS Relay. The update may also be used to fix some of the bugs that users are experiencing.

SMS Relay is still working between Yosemite Preview and iOS 8.

Eh. My Wifi on my Retina iPad Mini has dropped once since updating. Other than that, I haven't noticed anything else wrong with either my battery or Wifi.

Safari has gotten worse, though. Crashes a lot more than before. Though, that's likely because of the new interface and allowance of much better multitasking with tabs.

Actually, my 6+ battery has been pretty decent since I got the phone. I turned off location under a few system services and it's lasting at least 2 days with moderate usage.

I've said this before and I will say this every year with a new major update: I've never had any major problems or bugs with new releases. Why? I always, always RESTORE AND SET UP AS NEW. new OS? Let's make sure your data was created in that environment to work. Most specifically with battery drain issues.

Set up my iPhone 6 as new and synced all my stuff over iTunes/iCloud and downloaded my apps manually, I've been seeing about 2 day battery.

Thats not really a viable solution for most. Syncing icloud data is easy enough but the real convenience of icloud is supposed to be restoring backed up data back to the device. For those who have extensive original content on their devices like camera roll, that isn't going to cut it.

You could argue well why not just back up to itunes then restore after setting up as new. Well thats a solution bit its not ideal. The problem is when apple touts a wire-free setup, well that is in fact what they should deliver. If its not true then don't advertise it.

Its really getting old. This has been an issue after every release now. Thats not acceptable. I get that its software but after so many go-rounds they should anticipate it. What this tells me is that they released the OS prematurely. iOS 7 was in like early beta when first released and it didnt improve all that much. So it in fact is an issue.

iOS 8 wifi issues

I was a bit premature in saying the network settings reset fixed all my problems. Performed some more speedtests and still having slow wifi issues.

Guess I'll switch back to the 2.4ghz network until Apple fixes whatever is wrong. I have no issues there.

I am seeing much faster WiFi than ever before. Using SpeedTest, iPhone usually performs at a fraction of iMac WiFi Speed ~40-50%. IOS 8 is testing out at almost the same speed as the iMac 55 Mbs vs 62 Mbs Download Upload is essentially the same ~10 Mbs. My WiFI is at 5Ghz.

No battery issues - I suspect it is an interesting combinations of apps - you can control so many aspects now, probably worth checking the battery use of every app.

Only is Apple is providing a significant discount in price to the people enduring the issues.

But why should they? People who buy new cars are also subject to recalls and after purchase repairs. When you buy a new home and the tile cracks because the house isn't quite done settling get the problem fixed but they don't get a discount on the home because of it. This is no difference. Apple will eventually fix these issues, but they aren't going to pay you for it. Thats just the way it is.

Yup....

1) Apple cannot test every WiFi router, so invariably some have issues. I never experience these because I have Apple WiFi routers (which they do test)

I bought an iPad mini. It had defective WiFi. I took it back to Apple for diagnostics. Before the tech came out a One to One instructor pulled me over to the side and said it was my router, not the device. I'm using AE. She told me I have to update to the then new ac standard. She was not willing to consider that all other devices were working properly on the AE, even the cheap Acer netbook. Remember netbooks (TC). She hung tough trying to hard sell that router.

The tech ran diagnostics. The iPad mini had connectivity issues. I got another one. WiFi is better but not much and definitely not as good as that cheap Acer netbook or my old iBook.

Apple quality is suffering. There is no sensible reason for people to make up issues on the devices.

Really? I have no issue so far with my iPhone 6.

Exactly what Apple wanted you to say.... Now everyone, upgrade and your ios battery issues will vanish. Then Apple can blow ridiculous cash on making the greenest spaceship on the planet. Lol

General->Usage->Battery Usage

Lists every app that has used battery for last 24 hrs or 5 day.

My biggest users for 5 days are Home & Lock Screen 20%
Harmony A/V Controller 19%
Mail 13%

Last 24 hrs
Mail 23% - work day today :)

If simply using Android doesn't convince you to come back, I don't know what will.

I've used both OS's and both are good. iOs has finally caught up with most missing features from Android but with all these bugs I'm certainly in no rush to plop down a grand. Hope 8.0.1 or 8.1 fixes these issues in the near future.

perhaps people are seeing a drain on battery because they are using it more often because there are new features? Everytime a new version is released, or a new iphone, people seem to complain about the battery. I drained my iphone 6 today because i can't stop using it, not because it has battery issues.

read the ******* article.

significant battery drain appears to be another complaint that's popping up frequently on the apple support forums, with users complaining of their batteries draining much faster than usual. According to one user, his battery drained from 100 percent to zero in four hours with minimal usage, a complaint echoed by several other users.

Definitely major drop on the iPhone 5. I don't really know what it could be either. I was in a conference all day Sat and Sun and had to go 3-4 hours without looking at my phone. It barely made it through the day on very light use. On iOS 7 I could make it through the entire day and actually use the device quite a bit.

I've always bought new cars. The house was new construction. No problems.

Exact opposite for me and the coworkers I've talked to. My battery had been dead by the ned of the day every day for months. MUCH better with 8! My phone is in the recall range, but I haven't had time to go in just yet.

I've learned yesterday that iOS 8 makes some of the iPhone devices (including iPhone 6) Wi-Fi connection slow. It happened to me on my iPhone 6, I researched all day yesterday to see if there's a solution or if that's a bugs from iOS 8 or what. So here's the solution:

If you're using WEP security setting to your router, change it to WPA, that's it! After all of those changes, my iPhone 6 Wi-Fi connection is flawless...

Everytime a new version is released, or a new iPhone, people seem to complain about the battery. I drained my iPhone 6 today because I can't stop using it, not because it has battery issues.

I agree. Not that this excludes that some people are having battery options.

But exploring new functions for the sake of it AND normal really eats up the battery faster. That there are constant app updates and then I check the apps to see if they've added anything (including apps I rarely use).

Factoring in that, I might actually be getting better battery life...

I'm afraid I'm just the opposite. Ios 8 fixed my horrible battery life I was getting on the last version of iOS 7. Very interesting.

Please Apple do not do anything. These issue are on the individual bases. There must be certain apps problem or service provider or router or something….
My iPhone 6 works like a charm. No battery issues.

Location Services is ON (16 apps on Always) and Speedtest this evening shows: 647.0 Down, 73.1 Upload and Ping 16.
Yesterday was: 285.0 Down, 81 Upload and Ping 292.
This phone is a beast.

Also, my iPad Air with iOS 8, used it today somewhat, this evening 91% capacity left.
