Wow, I didn't profess to know what I was talking about. I shall go and cry in a corner because some nobody on an internet forum got the better of me.

Typical response from someone that can't accept the truth. Name calling? More money than brains or class, I guess. Don't worry, it's pretty common.

Crap, they didn't wait until 9.1?!?! I've been kind of bored with my 6s+ and am pumped JB is out, really all I want is to have more icons in my dock and a dark theme. I'm a bit bummed they didn't wait for 9.1 though as it's right around the corner and I'm sure it will break JB.

Reading the comments, seems like the "cool" thing to do (or NOT do), is jailbreaking your iDevice. Awwwwwweeee, guess I'm square....

I'm actually astounded how happy people are once they can basically hand over control of their primary computing device with all their personal information to some obscure developers, and open up their devices to being taken over.

The exploits were already patched in 9.1 beta.

So this JB definitely won't work with 9.1? Makes sense why they would release it then, give the people who want JB and are willing to stay on 9.02 a chance before they go to 9.1. It's good to know that the rootless technology isn't as much of an issue as was advertised.

And let's not forget the main reason most people jaikbreak: so they can pirate paid apps
wow. you are the reason people are against jailbreak. i have never pirated a paid app in the 4 years i have jailbroken. i pay for themes and tweaks, and if i can't afford it, or it's not worth the money it's listed for, i do something crazy. i don't pirate it. i don't install that tweak. crazy, right?

Probably the exploits were closed in 9.1.

Not everyone, I pay for whatever I use and keep using. I don't doubt that stealing apps is rampant, but not everyone does it.

It was more of a problem back in the early days. people haven't really pirated apps as much ever since most of the popular games are free and not many people spend money on apps anymore. most pirating is in music and movies.

Damn lots of hate for the jailbreak scene. I don't anymore and have not since iPhone 4s however I can totally see why people still would. It's extremely difficult to give up all the cool things in cydia it was tough for me

You guess wrong, it happens. You're forgiven, move along.

Your sub-par deflection attempts aren't helping your case. Just because you're surrounded by "nobodies" on an internet forum, doesn't mean you don't have to act your age. Grow up.

Didn't realise I had a case, and thanks for the advice about growing up, it is my birthday today after all.

Yeah, it won't work on 9.1, unfortunately. And yeah, Rootless appears to be a non-issue!

Of course, there are so many things you can do that Apple don't allow without a jailbreak.

Here are some:

- Changing font
- Tethering without carrier limits
- Theming
- f.lux (no, that GammaThingy is not a true copy)
- Swiping along the keyboard to move the cursor without needing an iPad or 6S
- Camera tweaks to customize the camera functionality
- Removing annoyances
- Scrobbling Apple Music tracks and Beats 1 in the background seamlessly

etc

None of these seem worth it to sacrifice security.

Of all the things you have mentioned, most of them are more of personal preference. Not necessary functional based. The only one I would really say is tethering without carrier limits, however, even with this, you are doing something to walk on a fine line with the carries. If you define "without carrier limits" as how much data you paid for, in that case I personally pay for 40GB of data, I can tether up to 40GB and Verizon won't care. With unlimited data going away, it's not even that useful anymore.

I honestly have nothing against jailbreak, however, I just don't find much use for it anymore (lets stay within the legal use).
