Pretty sure this is the reason that carriers are pushing people off unlimited or charging more for it (Verizon). Even if you can get away with it, it's not "fair practice". Some people are consuming teribites this way, which costs carries money. Which then drives up the rates for everyone.

Explain how I am going to consume terabits/bytes of data with a throttled 1 Mbps connection. Can't even download anything...:p

You're not just stating facts. You're pushing a narrative that centers around pirating. It's totally okay to do that. That's your prerogative. Just own it. Don't half ass it with "People do regular stuff, but..." Context makes it pretty obvious your focus is the pirating aspect.

Thank you. It's a classic strawman argument that he's presenting, but hey, who I am to argue with someone presenting facts? (!)

Yeah I don't see the point anymore. I remember jailbreaking and eventually having to restore my phone because it would become so unstable after a while.

User error. I jailbreak all my idevices (I have an iPad of all CPU generations and many iPhones) but don't have problems as I only install some well-tested, reliable JB tools (iFile, f.lux, Screen Recorder etc.). I in no way install dumb themes - it's mostly these that bog the iDevices down.

I do a lot of visual customizing on my phone, and these days the only thing that causes instability for me is websites viewed in Facebook or Twitter with endless popups.

Passing on this, just like the last one.. they are unstable. Even with all the revisions of their last break it wasn't a smooth process and the injector was extremely buggy. No tweak I previously used will be updated to IOS 9 anyway since most Jailbreak coders move on so quickly. Cool news for those still interested in breaking, I just see no point anymore.. and I use to be a 100% in.

People still jailbreak?
Why are you surprised by this? Why did nine other people like this? Why does the MR community seem not to really care, as I don't think the previous iOS 8 jb made it to the front page, just a side bar item. This is very exciting. To me, the phone is useless garbage without it being jailbroken. I would had stayed on my blackberry to be honest as I detest android.

True, although Anemone is a huge improvement over Winterboard when it comes to performance. I wouldn't run it on older devices, but my 6+ is always themed.

I wouldn't go that far in saying it's useless garbage, as I can certainly live without a JB iPhone...however, it's just not the same. And I dislike Android too.

It's a pity Apple still hasn't bothered giving us something similar. The iPad becomes so much more eye-friendly with it in the evening.

I don't think it's going to happen, f.lux clashes with the EXTREMELY cold colours of iOS 7+ (white and blue all the way).
But maybe Apple will take a hint from Pocket, OmniFocus, (its own) iBooks and other apps that have a night mode, and implement a global bright/dark switch. That might be good enough...

If they didn't, they wouldn't bother with releasing a Jailbreak tool every so often.

I jailbreak to use iBlacklist to block calls from even reaching voicemail unlike the built in blocker.
I jailbreak to block ads in my browser as well as in all free apps and especially, the ones that force you to view an ad before using the app.
I also jailbreak to be able to tether as much as I like. I don't abuse it but I want to be able to use it since I have unlimited data.
3G Unrestrictor also allows me to get past Apples 150GB download restriction.
I also use iTunes Radio unlimited skips. Nothing like being able to skip as many songs as I want.
I use something called Aria which allows me to change the look and way that the music app lists songs and artists.

The list goes on and on.
Since when do blocked calls go to voice mail? Do you mean rejected calls?

Yes, and be thankful they do, given how many features of iOS that have been implemented which are ripoffs of jailbreak tweaks.
Your quote deserves more up votes. There's a lot of functionality in iOS that can be traced back to popular jailbreak features. Not every innovative idea in iOS had it's genesis in Cupertino.

Don't do it. Bad idea.

9.0.2 is horrendously slow and laggy and if you jailbreak, you'll have to stick with it, and you won't be able to get future performance enhancements Apple is already working on (such as with 9.1).

I'm on 8.4.1 waiting on an 8.4.1 jailbreak, since 8.4.1 is already really stable and fast, I think I could hang onto it with a jailbreak.

Uh, yeah. You can do some pretty amazing or necessary stuff with a jailbreak. Stuff that Apple is too arrogant to implement on iOS themselves.

Remember Control Center? Yeah, that's been a thing on Cydia for several years now. Since, what, the iOS 4 jailbreak?

I am aware it says 9.0-9.0.2, but I'm curious to see if it works on 8.4.1.

Who knows, maybe the exploits they're using are present on 8.4.1 as well?

Yeah I know, I used to jailbreak up until iOS 7 I think then I just don't see the point. Yes there are very cool things you can do just doesn't seem worth it for me.

Hoping Taig releases their version. I had issues with Pangu on prior devices (7.1.2 and 8.0.2).

I jailbreak really for f.lux and ifile. This way I can transfer documents and movies into a 64gb SD card and watch them via the CCK adapter.

Admittedly, I like Movie Box too!
