yeah, should be soon I'd assume. Seems like mine was one of the later ones to go to Prepared for shipment, so will probably one of the later ones to get a tracking number. Sucks we missed the cutoff!

My boss is coming in late today cuz he's standing in line at an apple store... but they just ran out. Sorta made me a little happy that they did... Sick, huh? ;)

Mine last checked in last night in Hong Kong after shipping out yesterday morning PST. I'm expecting that the next check in will be in Anchorage sometime early this afternoon. It seems like the amount of time that it spends in Anchorage is a pretty big variable. Still hoping that it gets in and out of anchorage today.

My smartcover spent 1 day in anchorage, then shipped to memphis, then to Portland and is out on a truck right now. As long as it arrives today, it will be 4 days from pick up to delivery.

Saw another model just like mine coming to Portland as well, that literally took two days from pick up in China, to delivery. His went thru Oakland instead of memphis, which appears to speed things up. Here's hoping!

My 32GB 3G AT&T WHITE says it will be delivered on March 23rd. I called Apple CS and bitched about the late delivery, got a RED Smart Cover for free. :)

...and my Smartcover just showed up. Black leather. nice.

As a side note, I called and let the CS rep know that I know of a few iPads ordered after mine that are already delivered and how frustrating that is. She refunded the price that I paid for the Smartcover.

I've also called a couple time now about the shipping thing and have been told consistently that there is no option to upgrade shipping as they are already using expedited.

My White 32GB AT&T iPad 2 shipped today. Interestingly, it looks like it was initially after the cutoff time, but might have left Shenzhen anyway 20 minutes later. FedEx ETA is 3/23 (was 3/22 before the "after FedEx cutoff time" status).

Date/Time Status Location
2011-03-17 21:38:00 Left FedEx Origin Location SHENZHEN,
2011-03-17 21:11:00 Package received after FedEx cutoff time SHENZHEN,

My 32g AT&T Ipad 2 changed to prepared to ship sometime late yesterday and this morning when I checked, it had changed BACK to "not yet shipped."

Has this happened to anyone else?

Anybody know what is happening?

I ordered it March 11 at 1:30am PST.

Thanks.

Just checked it again a few minutes ago and now it is back to "prepared for shipment". This is weird!

turds

for all of the turds saying that apple didn't break their shipping timeframe, they officially have now.

this was day 5, friends. and i ordered at 12:47am PDT. i can't imagine there would have been so many orders before mine that they maxed out all inventory to the point that they are now late.

there were obviously production issues and i hope they at least fix them before i get mine (with the delay being considered).

my ipad has prepared for shipment, but until it ships it is as legit as the "prepared for first human flight unaided by machine" status i have given myself in my living room just now.

I am "prepared for the first human flight unaided by machine" guys and gals.

Received Shipping Notification for my 32GB AT&T Black iPad!!! Yet another tear flowing through my eye!

Looks like I'm part of the herd now. Everyone hold hands...and let's hope for a safe ride to the States! :D

Usually "N business days" means N days after the current business day concludes. So, Friday doesn't count... as much as, in my mind, it should (I want my iPad, thanks). Nevertheless, if it ships tomorrow and, much more importantly, if it arrives within the delivery window promised, Apple's not in the wrong.

Lastly, really, there's no need for name-calling. We're all similarly excited and antsy for our iPads to arrive.

Sorry for the turd remark.. Was kidding of course. Hope it foes get here by the 25th.....wonder what happened with production.

After about 30 hours in prepared for shipping, I just received shipping notification for my iPad. I ordered at 3:00 am PT on 3/11. Hopefully this means that they are working their way through the backlog of shipments.
