agreed with the review---

After one week of using my iPad 2, I sold my laptop. It was getting no use as it is after getting my iPhone. With an iPad in the house, it will not get used at all. I'll defer to my Windows 7 tower if I need to do any real heavy lifting.

I commute to and from downtown Chicago every day for work. I do a lot of reading and watch a lot of movies and TV shows. iPad 2 is all I need. I barely even use my iPhone anymore except for calls and texts.

The day after...

I got my iPad 2 yesterday. I love it. :D The Time Warner Cable TV App I got kinda blows my mind. Although, FaceTime HD and a retina display would be welcomed additions to the third generation :p

Android user here

Well, as an Android phone user, I bit the bullet and got an iPad2.
I simply needed a tablet that was 100% iCal compatible, which Android still isn't.
As well as a few other apps that are handy for work.

I've had it for almost a month, and all-though I do like the way it works, the apps, and the integration of Apps, I must say, iOs is a crap UI, compared to Android.
I miss having an app drawer, and widgets.
I love my todo, calendar, clock and favorites widgets.
Oh, and the address book sucks the big one as well, IMO.
We won't even talk about the horrendous Safari browser, or the very underwhelmeing email app.

I can't wait for the jailbreak to get released, as Jobs has this thing seriously hobbled. I can't wait for him to retire.

Just got my 3G white iPad 2 yesterday
I'm quite impressed!!!! The speed the the screen size is very perfect for me for traveling...
Watching HD quality movies such as Wall.E was stunning....... I'll be happy to view it with my gf next to me... should be no problem!
Games looks stunning. Desktop-like graphics appears so close to my face!

The only thing missing is really, Retina display. The pixels/dpi are not as dense as iPhone 4.... but I guess it's coz of the price issue.
Another thing I dislike is the fact that I have to repurchase some apps, specifically for iPad.......... it's a lot of money!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope in future iterations, we see more of this:

oh, hello troll.

oh, hello troll.

Why a troll?
Because I have some criticisms?
Being critical does not make one a troll.
I think buying a 64gb 3G iPad x2 gives me the right to have some criticisms.

Having used android extensively from it's first release, I think I have a pretty good frame of reference.

I hear you can buy apps on the iPad... You know, to do different stuff. I might have heard wrong though...

Here is my newly unboxed AT&T 64GB BLK.

It dons a Ghost armor on its rear and Anti-glare power support on its front.

Buy atomic browser ... 99 cents

Really? Wow!!! I did not know that.

Maybe you can direct me to the widgets section, so I can have my scrolling todo list, scrolling calendar, realtime clock with wether, updating news and scrollable calendar on my desktop.

And also, maybe you can show me the preference to have all my apps not show up on my desktop, like graphic diahrea of a schizophrenic. But in a single folder, where I can access them when I want, and only have the most used ones on my desktop, laid out the way I want them to be.

If you have used anything other than an iPhone, iTouch or iPad, you'll understand what I mean.

I'm not saying I don't like the way it works, and have 5 pages of apps to attest to that.
I'm saying the UI sucks the big one.

did anybody feel that the home button of ipad 2 is significantly lower than the front glass? i mean you can clearly feel the edge of the glass when you move through the home button????? (did not feel this on other iOS devices so really confused)

I got mine yesterday, the one white, because they no longer have the black one.
So far i like it. The camera is crap however.

it is not for meant for taking pictures - apple included the camera app because people would b***h and moan if it could only take video. like the last ipod nano.

Yeah...I really find it funny that review sites and people buying this think that it is meant for you to walk around and take incredible pictures with. That is why the one on the iPhone is so nice...small enough to hold and use as a substitute for a camera.

iPad, IMO, is for Facetime first and foremost and makes for a nice video camera due to the HD and editing capabilities...but really just a convenience to have the ability to take still shots.

Yeah i know....it's not a camera.
i gotta say, people are complaining about the wifi, unless i got lucky but the wifi is awesome, it picks it up quite well and i have a cheap old netgear one.

I do see the bleeding issue but really it is nothing to worry about. If people didn't start talking about it, i wouldn't know. Again maybe i got lucky.

Didn't get the smart cover, i wanted it free and even offered my hat, bu tthe guy at apple was mean and said "NO"!;)

I got my iPad 2 64GB Black WiFi+3G yesterday. I would have gotten WiFi only if the WiFi only version had GPS.

I have to say I am quite impressed with the overall experience with the new iPad. While reading about it in reviews on the web, I was a bit apprehensive as it didn't really feel like much of an upgrade on paper. I'd like to point out some areas where I really saw the iPad 2 shine:

a. Screen - the iPad 2 has a much more crisp and vibrant display than my iPad 1 which had a slightly duller and yellowish display. I was hoping for a Retina display, but the screen is still great especially with the aspect ratio that allows it to be used comfortably from any angle. I have very small backlight bleed even in the "ideal" conditions.

b. Speed - the new iPad feels so much snappier and responsive overall. Opening up apps, typing, browsing the web, interacting, feel so much more speedy. Sometimes it's just a few seconds, but when I not notice myself waiting for the iPad, it's a doubly great experience.

c. Cameras - I'm a university student and I use FaceTime to chat with my parents back home. It's about the only video chat software my parents can comfortably use (Skype and Yahoo are too complicated for them). It's been such a blast connecting to them at a more natural level. Plus I like taking a quick picture for tweeting. I'd also want to explore capturing small moments and creating a quick video in iMovie.

d. Form factor - this is the definitive must have upgrade for me. I read a lot on the iPad and iPad 2 is so much easier to hold for long periods of time due to its thinness and lightness. I can pretty much use it anywhere now, and it's become really a mobile device for me.

e. Smart Cover - I bought the black leather one. I love the stand functionality. It's so clever and I always smile when opening, closing, or using it.

Agreed. I'm not trying to defend my purchase, but even if the iPad 2 had the same cameras as the iPhone 4, I still wouldn't use them beyond the initial testing and 2 minutes of PhotoBooth that I used them for, upon opening the box for the first time.
The iPhone has the cameras I use all the time.

received my white 16GB wifi iPad 2 yesterday - the device seems perfect, great screen, great sound coming from the speaker. spent all night watching video, browsing the web, and playing games. haven't noticed any of the problems people on this forum have talked about.

I held off on the first iPad because I was disappointed that it didn't have cameras. NOT because I wanted to use it as a still camera or video camera, but because I wanted to be able to video chat. For Facetime, Skype, Tango, whatever, the iPad 2 cameras are totally fine. Facetime is probably the smoothest video chat experience I've ever had, and I have used it on my iPad 2 more in one month than I have used it on my iPhone 4 in a year.

iPad 2 is perfect for video chat. If I want great looking stills or video, I reach for my iPhone 4.

I'm disappointed that I stll have to reload web pages so often when switching between pages. Not quite as bad as the iPad 1 but it's still noticeable.

i make a habit to close all the apps except safari when im browsing, that way the tabs don't keep reloading so often.
