I was at BB playing with the display, very happy i ordered white, screen somehow looks better than the original and its soooo thin

Pix alongside iPad 1 please.

Anyone still running an iPad 1 with original iOS 3.2 who've also an iPad 1 with iOS 4.3 if so how dramatic is the performance increase in Safari or preferably, iCab?

Got mine: a 64GB Wi-Fi only Black model, originally wanted a 16GB but Wal-Mart was sold out. Oh well, at least I have the space for movies now :)

got mine! 32 GB wifi black. this thing was worth the wait.

got to best buy around 3, got in and played with the first ipad for a bit, then they said they'd start forming the line. i was there 3rd but ended up getting the 5th spot in line, whatever, it worked out.

was talking to some people about it, pretty interesting to hear everyone's point of view about apple and iphone ipad etc.

they gave us tickets at 4:30 after they asked each person what they wanted. the line got to maybe 25 people by the end i'd say, and they had 20 ipad 2s that i saw when they carted them out for purchase.

i didn't bother to look at the smart covers or anything yet. i was 2nd to purchase mine, then booked it home to get it out! synced my apps on it and have been playing ever since. i love this thing.

The white looks nice, but it's distracting for me for movies etc... I like having a black bezel, similar to a tv etc...

Haven't opened it yet though..
Why compare an image that would normally be viewed from 10-20 feet away to one you will be holding less than a foot away from your nose?

The TV comparison does't hold water. Sure my 62" tv has a black border but it's sitting against a white wall. The wall has never distracted me from the picture.

I'll add my pics here.

White 32db Wifi, Red smart cover...

IPNoir

5:03pm on the receipt, all set up and streaming to the Airport Express by 5:20. Got this one at Target, there were 12 of us in line for 10 units...5 black 32G, 5 white 16G, no 3G.

Happy I waited for the IP2.

Easy. It's my preference. I like a black border.

I'm personally glad that I ordered the Black it seems like everybody I see is buying the white and it just seems cooler that I don't have the same iPad as everybody else on the planet.

*To be fair though the White iPad does look pretty sweet.
Considering all the 1st gens out there, I'd say you're the one who has the same thing as everyone else.

Oh yeah, I got my BLACK 32GB iPad 2 today. Last one Best Buy had in stock! I'm so glad I ditched my first gen. This is everything I wanted. I'm in love. How do I break this to my girlfriend? :D

So does anyone know how we transfer our grandfathered in AT&T data plan over to a new iPad 2?

For those that have the ipad 2 and a smart cover, can you please fold the cover around the back of the ipad just like you would if holding a magazine. Im interested in knowing whether the magnets will disconnect when folded this way, as i would image this will be the way its held whilst reading a book

Cheers

Better yet

Looking to upgrade to the iPad 2 3G? How do you transfer your existing AT&T data plan over to the new iPad 2?

Here is what AT&T recommends you do:

1. You’ll need your iPad’s cellular data number and iMEi number. Go to Settings > General > About.

2. Call AT&T at 1-800-331-0500, tell them you want to move your data plan from the iPad to your shiny new iPad 2.

3. The nice rep will ask for the IMEI number on the iPad 2. Your data plan can now be transfered over to the newer iPad.

Note: They do not recommend you simply take out your iPad sim card and place it inside the new iPad. Not really sure why.
