What can I say, I am floored! Part of this is because I forwent the first gen and waited for this one. However, I am very happy! I also took these two pics for nostalgia, showing Apple's first true portable computer alongside it's newest portable device. The old guys will remember!

Very cool! Now, I wonder if the white bezel of your iPad 2 will yellow over time like the spacebar of your Macintosh Portable??!! lol :)

Love the new iPad! My one complaint is that the iPhone 4 has spoiled me resolution wise. Anyone else having a hard time adjusting to the resolution after staring at an iPhone 4 for a while?

White looks great, but it only serves to highlight grubby bedsheets ;):D j/k

Enjoy I'm only jealous as I still have two weeks to go.

Oh you should edit your post and where its IMG change to TIMG, it makes the thread cleaner especially when people quote your post.

It's funny you said this.. My sheets are pretty white, and as soon as I sat it down I thought "damn apple got the purest white available!"

I hope you are not serious. No, it will not. It has glass over it and he will not be touching it. It's sad that we have to explain something so self-evident to people.

u know, i sold my iPad1 after a week i got my iPhone 4, because everything looks blurry on the iPad, so i guess i'm skipping the iPad2 until much advance GPU can drive a retina display on the iPad.

i wish apple made a 7" iPad so the resolution is still sharp and not as big as the current iPad, easier to use anywhere.

so now can you hold the iPad reading iBooks while laying on bed? because the weight is just only a bit lighter than the old one, and im curious. because i had trouble holding the original iPad with one hand while reading iBooks on my bed. it feels heavy and going to slip off from my hand to hit my head..

To be honest with you, I really don't notice much of a difference in the weight. I think since it's thinner you get an illusion at first that it's lighter, but once you're holding it for a bit it seems the same as the first iPad. I think if you had trouble holding the ipad 1 while reading in bed you'll probably have problems with iPad 2.

That's an great set of photos! The evolution of power-to-size is really hammered home.

It's only .2 lbs lighter. It would be very difficult for a person to really notice .2 lbs.

However, your muscles are dynamic. If you read with it in bed for a few weeks, you will adjust and not notice it as much. Or just lift a few weights.

I hold it for reading all the time and never have an issue.

u know i had issue because it's not light enough to be hold in one hand while on bed, besides it the curved back of the original iPad makes it harder to grip.

is the new iPad 2 makes it easier to grab with on hand because of the flat back? but i read somewhere, someone said the iPad 2 is slippery like an oiled eel.

The yellow discolouration is mainly due to UV radiation, heat, and/or fire retardant chemicals used in the plastic itself. So that being said, whatever was used in the White film on the iPad wouldn't have the fire retardant chemical in it, however it would still be prone to the heat and UV.

It's sad that we have to explain something so self-evident to people.:p

The weight is what really has floored me more than anything. It makes so muc of a difference. The device just feels very natural in your hand(s).

I am laying in bed reading using Kindle app. So far I'd have to say you can but time will tell. It still may be a bit heavy for one hand. However it is easier to grip in my opinion.

Got black 32gb Wifi

So i was first in line at my local best buy in Lincoln, NE of course had my pick of every model, really happy i went with black. i don't think white looks girly or will show more finger prints or smudges than the black or anything ridiculous like that i chose black b/c it IMO white looks kinda cheap and kinda screams "hey look at me i got a new Ipad its white so you know its the new one" but who cares have you ever thought maybe somebody picked based on what color they actually like and what works for them, honestly how do you ppl get off bashing others you dont even know because they didnt pick the same color as you.

Actually, not really. Most of, if not all, of the discoloration of white Apple products is due to human contact and skin oils. Take the white Macbook's yellowing palm rests for instance. If you sat it on a windowsill in the middle of summer, it would not yellow by itself. It needs a contact catalyst. There will be none for this iPad 2 bezel because it is under glass.

LOL you basically bashed yourself by stating that you think owners of white iPads are screaming ""hey look at me i got a new Ipad its white so you know its the new one"".

No he didn't, he simply gave the opinion that that is what some people may get white for; he then went on to state that whatever colour you get is still your own taste.
