iPad 2 from J&R - NO TAX, FREE SHIPPING

I canceled my March 18th 64 gb black wifi order yesterday primarily because they wouldn't tell me where I stood in the wait list of over 100. All they would say is "assume you are in the top 100. Bad job on their part since when I ordered they said it would be in on the 30th, perhaps sooner.

I have always been satisfied with them in the past but not this time. :mad:

Just canceled my Black ATT 64GB. Very nice customer service. No issues with canceling.

Macconnection had white 64GB ATT's in stock this morning so I ordered one with free 2 day shipping to California. Never ordered from them before, but other Macrumors members seem to be happy with them. Nice that they could tell me precisely whether they had inventory and that it would ship today. Yeah, done!
 
Cancelled my 3/21 order for Black 16GB WiFi unit... Everyone moves up a slot.

B&H order shipped in 2 days. MacConnection order shipped in 1 day on 3/28 but that was for a 32 gb wifi black version.
 
Cancelled my J&R order for 64GB Black AT&T placed on March 31st. Ordered one from Apple March 17th, and MacConnection April 2nd (both same kind of iPad) and MacConnection shipped mine today with 2nd Day air free and no tax.
 
Spent 3 weeks waiting for my J&R order before cancelling it. Placed another with B&H and it shipped the next day.

Just to clarify, the B&H order was the same as J&R (16GB/Black/Wifi). It just shipped today (arrived in stock yesterday).

I did have a 32GB/Black/Wifi on order with B&H for a short time (around 3/25) but canceled 3 days later when I realized they charged my card immediately upon placing the order. Mac Connection did not charge until shipped, and included 2nd-Day for free (and happened to ship the next day).

hmm..i ordered 2 black wifi models, a 16GB and a 32GB, from B&H. Got the 16GB but the 32GB is still backordered. I ordered almost 2 weeks ago. Think I should place an order for the 32GB at Macconnection just in case? B&H has no idea when they will have it in stock.
 
Went to the Apple store this morning and got my Ipad. Canceled my order with JR.

I would. No harm in it if you can spare the credit card authorization (no charge, just verification that the charge would clear) then you have nothing to lose.

Anyone get any further updates on shipping of iPad 2 from J&R? I ordered my iPad 2 32GB AT&T black model on March 9th and still no word!

I notice that that the orange polyurethane cover had an "Expected ship date of 4/6/2011" which however kept shifting daily. Now it's "Expected ship date of 4/8/2011". I wonder if by tonight it'll change to "4/9/2011".

What's up with J&R?

When I called MacConnection a couple of days ago, I asked them if they had a black 32GB AT&T model in stock. They did!!!! I didn't order from them though because they do charge sales tax in NC and that would have amounted to about $50 which is a little more than the price of a polyurethane Smart Cover.

Maybe I'm just too cheap.

I'm still waiting for my March 9th order of the iPad 2 from J&R! If anyone can suggest an online retailer who can ship to NC without charging sales tax, I'll abandon J&R.
 
I canceled my 32/Black/Wifi from JR and ordered directly from Apple. The sales girl tried to talk me out of it saying they were execting a shipment the next day. Very disappointed with JR, I had heard good things about them in the past but this has tarnished their reputation in my eyes.

You know what's laughable? I just checked on that orange polyurethane Smart Cover and now the date has shifted from 4/9 to 4/11. At least this time they're not just pushing it one day behind. They're pushing it THREE days behind -- maybe because of the weekend?

Yeah, they kept telling me they were expecting shipment the next day, or sometimes in a week, or... But nah...

Now, maybe if enough of you folks cancel, I can get my J&R order ;-) :rolleyes:
 
After 3 weeks of waiting, cancelled my JR order and order from Mac connection instead. Got mine in 3 days. go cancel your order if you are still waiting. They just keep BS-ing you they will get them next week.

I'm so pissed off at J&R. The ********** had me wait for 2+ weeks for nothing. This is the last time I deal with them, ever.

They tried to do the same thing with me, and I've heard the "big shipment coming" story too many times from J&R. Still glad I cancelled and ordered w/B&H, which shipped the next day. Happy to say I now have an iPad2 :D

I've been waiting since March 9th. However, I do find it hard to blame them for the delays. But, I do suspect that the salespeople have not been upfront with me about whether or when they are getting shipment and more precisely when I'll be getting mine. You see, a month ago I was told I'll get it in about a week, then when I called again they said they're getting another shipment out in a few days and then today when I called again Jacques said I'll be getting it likely this coming week. He said my order is on the cusp of being sent out.

Let's see if that pans out to be so.

I haven't canceled my order yet.

The thing is, everybody else has been getting decent stock - macconn, b&h etc. What the heck is wrong with j&r?
 
Finally, my order placed on March 9th will be shipped out today. Just received a UPS tracking number though the number is not yet on the UPS site. I suspect it'll arrive by Thursday evening.
