Shipping Options?

What the heck is with not having any options other than "Standard Shipping?" I wanted to choose 2 business days... Weird....

Interesting how they brand the Verizon one on orders and email but not ATT. I don't know how the carriers could influence Apple into not making them interchangeable. They aren't subsidizing them. If Apple isn't doing it I would guess the engineering hasn't been worked out yet. The huge number of SKUs is very unApple like.

Well the Verizon model is pretty much specific to Verizon because it uses CDMA. Not sure what other carriers it works with. The AT&T model is unlocked and works with any GSM carrier. Hence it doesn't say AT&T on the order.

And the other 10% are what? Rude, loud mouth, gas-guzzling Americans? Buying two to feed their fat, cushy lifestyles?

Don't you love stereotypes. ;)

I don't understand your response? Are you suggesting that there isn't a large amount of iPads being bought here in the U.S., particularly in New York City and then sent back to China for sale in the grey market? Come to New York and look at the lines. It does not look like the normal demographics of New York City. And it isn't just that huge numbers of middle-aged and elderly Chinese women are big Apple iPad fans. These are people who have the free time to devote an entire day to waiting in line for the profit of reselling the iPads on Craigslist and in China. Calling this out isn't stereotyping. It is what is happening. Oh and I don't really see anything particularly wrong with reselling an iPad except for the customs taxes that are no doubt being avoided.

ATT store in Palo Alto

I talked with the manager of the ATT store in Palo Alto. They will only have 5 ipad 2's available for sale today, supposedly at 5pm PST. (3 16GB, 2 32GB) So physical supplies will be in short supply.

Then he'll go back with the $300 you gave him and without any lines pick one up for himself. :)

I hope he does. He deserves it for his efforts.

They told me even if I open both and use them, so long as I return them within 14 days I will not incur a late fee and I would get a full refund, including original shipping. They also pay for the return-shipping label.

I'm at Perimeter Mall Atlanta, there is a very, very long line outside the Apple Store here.

I just walked by the Fifth Avenue store in NYC, and there are AT LEAST 200 to 300 people already lined up. The snaking pens on the part of the plaza to the south of the Cube were already full, and the line was starting to snake back on to the sidewalk. Just wait until people start getting out of work at the end of the day. At least at the Cube, I think we will be seeing a pretty serious line.

My smartcover has shipped... its going to be a real teaser.. dammit!

Why the **** are they paying for overnight shipping on a smartcover and not the iPad?

My sister's husband works inventory for target in a midsized midwest city. He says as of this AM they only had 5 total ipad2s in stock - all wifi 64gb blk.

Haha, ah well - better than nothing. Maybe it'll fit on your iPad 1.

Sweet.
