I would have thought so - they are meant to have the most stock of any store in Europe. If 4 hours queueing there isn't going to get you one I would expect that everyone else is completely stuffed.

Cheers, that's what I thought too. Wasn't planning on queuing more than 1 hour but what the hell.

Am I right in assuming most Apple Stores will do the sensible thing and walk up the queue, noting what models people want, and let people know if there's no point queueing?

I really don't mind queuing for hours if I'm gonna get the one I want, but id hate to queue for hours just to be turned away...

I'd like to know this too. I won't be queuing for hours, as i'm unlikely to be able to get out of work until 4ish, but it would be good to know if they will tell me not to bother queuing in the first place.

YOu need to be there at 5pm to get in the ballot?

...won't be popping into John Lewis after work then, or tomorrow for that matter.

I just called up the large JL store in Solihull they will be selling at 5pm tomorrow, they don’t know how many they have had but he said it looks as though they have quite a large delivery, first come first serve.

What do you guys think:

1) Go to Apple Store in Bullring. Bigger store in prime location = more stock?

OR

2) Go to Apple Store in Solihull. Smaller store, but that could mean less queues
and there is a massive John Lewis in the same precinct.

I took the decision to avoid the Bullring and head over to Solihull. PC World, Apple Store, JL, Argos and HMV are all within a short distance.

annoyed now.

Can't leave work till 5pm tomorrow, and the news of the 2-3 week waiting list for the online orders sucks.

The only chance of getting one before the month is out seems to be hoping that i can nab one from a shop on the way home, which is unlikely, and i'm not willing to compromise on the model i want, apart from colour!
