iPad 2 UK Thread

Ordered at 12:30 GMT yesterday. Received my order confirmation email at 12:59 :) anyother emails I should be expecting until the postage email?? Anyone recievedbthere order email is it a limited few :D
 
It's odd that people that ordered at 12.30am have the same delivery time as people who could order now :(

Hopefully this 2-3 weeks thing is to just cover apple's ass and hopefully we will get our ipad 2's sooner.

I'm not queuing up today so will wait for the 25th.

So everybody who did it through 1 click has no e-mail about it? at least it is on the orders page.

yes, but the US initially had a 3-5 day shipping window for like an hour before it dropped to 2-3 weeks, since they had limited stock in the states for launch, then the rest were coming direct from china. us, the aussies and the rest of europe don't have any stock in the country and all our orders are coming from china, thus the 2-3 week shipping time from the beginning of launch. it makes me laugh how people seemed to have not realised any of this....

It isn't a certainty that all iPad 2's are coming straight from China is it? I would have thought there is a possibility of there being a stock of them in the UK. Maybe not a very large stock but some stock none the less. They have been frantically preparing to get iPads to stores for today, I surmise that there will be some kept for online orders though priority will be given to apple brick and mortar stores.

I ordered mine at 12.29am, but still don't have email confirmation.

I know this is wishfull thinking and the ipads are meant to be in China. But when I ordered my Smart Cover yesterday the delivery time was 2 - 3 weeks, this still shows in my order status too. But I have had and email and text to say it will be here today!
Surely the ipads might be the same?!?!?!?!

I hope so. It is unlike Apple to miss the mark so badly when it comes to supply/demand. They usually nail it.

It's odd that mine went through 10 minutes after you but my delivery date is 25th.

Maybe apple are just putting out a fiqure and hopefully they will be out sooner.

No it's not certain. No one knows. andythursby has just been trolling this thread for the past 24 hours claiming he knows the future. Obviously Apple will have a select amount of stock already with UK suppliers (as were the Smart Covers which are out for delivery), if not only to continuously supply the main Apple stores.

Truth is, no one, not even this "smart ass" andythursby knows for sure. Best bet is to wait and see :)
 
ordered yesterday at 12.30am, shows the dispatch dates but still havent recieved the email confirmation :(

Apple will ship your iPad on friday at 5:01pm I bet you. It's all in the name of long lines! It's a conspiracy!!!!
 
I reckon there is a small chance there will still be units at big Apple stores after the queues have got theirs. I'm about 30 minutes away from Regent St so mentally prepared to head up there at about 6pm. We will have had word whether they have sold out or not.

I guess the thing is, can they serve the queues before they close at 9pm? regardless of stock, thats only 4 hours of selling - and I assume they'll be doing the credit checking etc for all ipad 3g sales?

Has anybody got a 25th delivery date who also ordered the smart cover at the same time last night.

Just wondering if my 26th delivery date is because of the GB merge in shipping.

(not that I'm obsessing or anything....)

gonna do similar. will duck out of work at five and see what cov garden is like.
