Haha, I ended up going the Orange route. I spent the whole day searching for a 32gb Black wifi, until one of the directors walked in yesterday, and reminds me of our 40% discount on orange contracts was like HEEEELLLOOOO done it online as no local stores have stock though, so gotta wait till wednesday, but i can cope. 64gb wifi+3g oh and a free leather case, which the guy spent 10 minutes telling me about until i replied with "yeah, im just gonna get a smart cover, thanks though"

It was funny, the woman in the orange store was about the cellophane of the box until I jumped up in all my nerdy geekiness and insisted I would unbox in at home lol!

Yeah I saw them on Tesco, but they are charging £39.99 when the covers are £35.00 - got mine from Argos with free delivery too

I was that keen to get one I didn't even notice the price!! Lol - oh well, done now, not too bothered about a fiver, probably cos I'm still happy as a pig in ****** that I'm getting an iPad on Monday rather than the 25th April lol.

Having it Monday is well worth the extra fiver! Still hoping mine comes today, as it's marked as dispatched but if it doesnt then roll on Monday!

Great day yesterday

Got my 64GB 3G at West Quay yesterday. Great day, started queuing at 9am (15th in the queue) by 4pm the queue was massive and when I left West Quay at 7pm (other shopping done) the queue had grown even more, no way were they going finish before 8pm when the centre closes. People in the queue very friendly and the Apple staff were brilliant (coffe, doughnuts, water etc.) and the 5pm event was quite a show. I would say to anyone it's definitely worth 'attending' one of these events, not something you participate in every day.

You would not see this with any other company, very much Apple!!

You will be lucky to find one in Southampton to be honest dude, I was 50th in a 200 strong queue outside the apple store in West Quay yesterday, some of the staff were saying they were completely sold out.

But I'm sure that new deliveries come in each day. Best of luck to ya, writing this on on my new 32gb black wifi I can tell you it will be worth the wait!!!

Well just picked up my black leather smart case from courier as missed delivery yesterday , was not sure what these would be like but it's amazing!!!! So simple but looks the biz, love my iPad naked so this works well, I know people say no protection to back etc etc but I think if careful it won't be a huge issue.

I have also noticed Argos have cases for reserve and collect today if people want to avoid crowds at Apple stores etc. Mine had a fair bit of stock

I have to say that I am hugely impressed by Comet in Watford.
there was a queue and the whole thing was dealt with in a professional manner and more importantly it was fun too.
Only had to wait for an hour and twenty minutes and glad that I did.
Behind me, quite a few people got turned away.
I now have my iPad and I am over the moon with it.
It's my first iPad and I am really impressed by the feel and speed of this thing.glad to hear that most people had fun days out and good experiences and this thread has been a great place to be for the last few days.

I ordered a Black 16GB Wifi model last night from Comet for delivery on Monday. I'm pleased I managed to source one for next week without having to leave the house.

I'm still trying to get my hands on one, ordered online at 12:30 but really don't want to wait a month.. Went past the Cardiff apple store after work last night, hundreds of people queuing, so went to the 3rd party reseller, (funny how none of these people seem to know about it..) and was about 20th in queue, unfortunately they sold out of all the 16/32gb wifis in black a few people before me, could have got a white but prefer black, kind of wish I'd got it now..

To be honest, I was more annoyed at 2 guys in front of me who both got 2 iPads and as they were walking out were saying how bad they felt for getting an extra one, so obviously going to scalp them.. sigh!

Went past main apple store, still a massive queue and the manager said it's not worth queuing as tickets all given out but they'd get more this weekend, so left ordering from Tescos, tried today and Apple aren't getting any this weekend and Tescos have sold out. If anyone sees any black wifis available online please share the link!

Ordered an iPad 2 from Tesco but it got cancelled thanks to the fact that Apple's online ordering system effed up my card (which has a large limit) pretty bad and will no longer accept any charges. So i'm still stuck with Apr 15th/26th. Thanks a lot...ya b*stards.

I'm so pissed off i'm thinking of just canceling everything and being done with it all.

Had the same problem too- I even called Barclays and they said it was unlocked so I ordered again to have try order cancel again. After 20 mins on the phone to Bangladesh and then the fraud lot- turns out he didn't unlock it properly at all. I went to re order and it was out of stock!

Funny thing was that Tesco on the phone told me that they were told that there were to be no online sales of iPad 2s.. Just phone orders. Wonder if someone messed up?

Either way- I'm really pissed because I missed out on the quidco and the 10 quid off and the points. I hope they come back in before the offers end..

All I ever got back was that they hadn't heard that I can't use it but hadn't specified that I could, I didn't risk queuing/going all the way down there so ordered from a work distie to come today which was a bit cheaper anyway so not too worried but it's a pain they never came back properly, i'm sure if you called your store by now they will know.

Anyone else's 'lock' sound when you close the smart cover seem a bit quiet even when the sound is on full?

i'm loving my iPad 2, i keep messing with the smart cover on it, it's just great. got it all up and running last night, not upgraded to 4.3.1 yet, tried manually downloading it last night, but it stalled out, some weird reason, it's only coming at 14Kbps, madness! and it's not my end as other sites are coming down at 700Kbps. I've still got to put all my music and photos on yet too, was just too impatient! lol.

i've noticed that, actually i think all sound from it seems quieter compared to the original iPad, could be due to the way the speaker is now, instead of being at the bottom it's on the curve.

Also, i will say i don't like how the dock cable sits, it's on the curve and looks and feels like it could easily snap when in there if you aren't careful. would have thought they would have made the dock cable specially for iPad 2 due to that

I got mine yesterday and it's great, worth the wait I was wanting a 32gb as home sharing makesup for storage size, that and I probably won't store any thing on it, having spent all day in the queue (really good crack though) I opted for the 64gb and the leather cover (superbly soft leather too)

Keep the faith guys, it's worth the searching.
