Returning mine for a refund, has a light leak. And that I've realised it's easier to just use my MacBook Pro for all the tasks I would do on the iPad, not sure where it fits in for me.

My 64gb black that I queued 10 hours for also has screen leak, and a particle under the screen, and also a small scratch..... I rang the apple store today and asked if they had any iPad 2's and was told they had sold out, I asked if they had any put aside in case anybody has a defective unit (I then explained the problems) he told me that he can't say over the phone and I need to make a genius appointment.....I assumed that they must have stock for this scenario which is why he was all secretive.... I drove 20 mile to the store to find that they have no stock at all...... They were very understanding, they told me that as soon as they receive the next delivery they will ring me so I can come and swap the one I have for a new one, they gave me a print out to show that the unit is defective and it needs swapping..... So I am happy to use the one I have until I get the phone call...... Wouldn't b suprised if the new ipad has screen leak!!!! But I will just keep swapping them till I get one I'm happy with :)

I have a white 16gb wifi that a friend of mine asked me 2 get him when I was in the queue only to find out he was only joking (or he couldn't get the cash).... I am gonna return it to the apple store on Monday unless someone wants to give me £425 for it (it's still sealed) I live in sunderland

could be interested if still available

Similar situation here - found 2 scartches on the back.

Seems like only Regent St are the only store around me that kept a few back to swap out for dodgy ones, luckily they didnt need me to make a genius bar appointment or anything.

Give them a try tomorrow if you're local.

I'm happy to wait for the next (screen leak free) batch ;)

Wife's order confirmation finally came through but apart from that nothing's happened with it. Very disappointing.

What has amazed me is how popular the 3G models appear to be. I'd have thought that the extra cost and now personal hotspot is available people wouldn't have bothered.

Can't say I'm surprised - how many people have a huge data allowance to share between two devices?

I'm on the 3 One Plan for my iPhone 4 (so data usage for Personal Hotspot is not an issue) and still got a 3G iPad, mainly so I can use a local SIM for the iPad when abroad.

Have ordered off currys... for Monday *fingers crossed*. It says that they are preparing my items for delivery but have not taken any money out my account, is this normal?

Do currys send you a tracking number etc too?

I was tempted to buy from curry's but it said available within 28 days. no mention of a few days delivery. It that what it said when you bought yours?

I have a iPhone 4 and have ordered the iPad 2 3G

The reason I have is simple. I have an old cut down 3 PAYG sim in my iPhone 4 and when I top up £10 I get 600 texts and 150MB internet for 90 days. I never need to worry about texts, and just top up when I run out of internet - usually after 2 months (depending on usage).

Now to use that with an iPad would mean I have to more regularly topup. I have threfore using an old cut down 3 PAYG mobile broadband sim for £10 gives me 3GB internet for 90 days. I will just top up when I run out like for my iPhone.

Unfortunately 3 have now changed their new PAYG to 30 days from 90 days, but have left it for legacy users!

Ordered it on Friday when it didn't say about the "within 28 days". On the next page after i ordered, it said to expect it within 3 business days... just abit confused as to why they haven't charged me yet? or sent me a tracking number?

Could they have meant it ships within 3 days of being in stock? Guess all will be revealed next week....

Upon switching mine on and off I have noticed that I am noticing some backlight bleed in the bottom right hand corner.

I am thinking about making a Genius appointment for Monday to see if I can get it swapped out.

Now the question is, would they let me upgrade model or not and pay the difference? Even though I originally purchased it from PC World?

Please remember no screen is perfect; they will all have some sort of imperfection eg bleed, off colour temp, dead pixel etc.

But if you feel that strongly try and get a replacement of the same model and then go to the store the next day and try and exchange for a better model and pay the difference. Probably your best bet because I think exchanges have to be a like for like model since you keep the old box.

I wouldn't bother makingh genius appointments to replace iPads yet.

Give it a week. I am under the understanding that NO apple stores have spare iPads for replacement and that stock is so low that you are not likely to be given any "emergency" iPads unless the issue is much more serious or heart breaking than some light leakage... And that is assuming they even have any spare ones at all...

Just wait a week then there may he extra stock otherwise your just wasting time queueing to be told you can have a replacement but not for another week or two...

I did the same. I opened my iPad this morning as it was too late last night to fiddle with it. Noticed there are a couple of manufacturing scratches on the back and a faint rub mark. Called apple and they said I was the first to call apple with an iPad 2 problem. Haha. I said it was not a problem but a concern. Was asked to call the store so I did. They said call midweek when they'll likely to have stock and they can reserve me one for replacement. Possibly a different color as well as I really wanted a white one. Meanwhile they said I am allowed to activate mine a d use it while I wait.
