iPad 2 UK Thread

Hmm, I ordered at 5:10 from Currys on Friday and I have had no e-mail yet, just the first initial one :/

It doesn't say on the site but I found this...

For smaller items you have the option of standard delivery or store pick up. This will be next day if you place your order before 12pm Mon-Fri. There is also a 2 hour time slots available any day of the week.

So I assume it could be possible? You couldn't select a 2hour slot though, but it looks like they deliver on a Sunday...

I wouldn't have high hopes but it is possible I guess. I mean people here placed orders after 12 on a Friday and got it the next day... I assume these people live close to the warehouse?
 
So I am happy to sell my white 32Gb 3G ipad 2 plus navy leather cover and
SGP front screen protector and Invisible shield on back
(though I cut it up to fit ipad 2) and a 3 SIM PAYG with 2.5GB already on there for only the price of the ipad and cover...

Nothing extra - all that other stuff is included for nothing.

I only am selling it cause I decided to get a black iPad - I actually love white more I just don't like being so flashy! lol
 
So... I was expecting an iPad from America which didn't materialise and now wondering what my best course of action is. Do I chance the apple stores now and again or bite the bullet and wait a month for delivery? :eek:
 
If you can afford it head to Apple or one of the resellers.

I believe by Monday you could be able to find one - if you want wifi only they are easiest to find.

You can use John Lewis - but be careful of iPads from mobile shops - in fact I would avoid it as they may end up being locked - like happened to me - even though I paid full price... It is only thanks to AMAZING service from Apple that they swapped my locked iPad for a new unlocked iPad and I can use what I paid for!

So avoid mobile shops - even if they say it isn't locked they may have locked it inadvertently... the exception being if you want a subsidised iPad 2 on contract.

As for your US iPad - if your still waiting for delivery and it wasn't sent at LEAST Express mail then who knows when it will arrive...
 
I bought a cream leather cover to go with the black iPad. It looks swish but it is getting dirty very fast. Too fast. And I think cleaning it will be very difficult.

I think I may return it tomo and get 2 plastic covers for the one leather (+10 quid) as that would be more flexible.

I also have that navy blue leather but it doesn't go with black which is why I'm selling it and a red leather cover is on the way (waiting for ups delivery as I missed them on Friday).

I ordered from Currys about the same time as you have received confirmation of booking then got a follow up a few mins later with sales receipt no.

I phoned on Sat to confirm and check all was ok they could not tell me much as there system was done and said they would phone me back
which never happened.
Checked my card this morning and the money has been taken so hopefully all will be ok.

Same here.I ordered from PC World around 7pm on Friday and have only had the first e-mail,they still had stock at that time.Ordered a smart cover on Saturday and got all three e-mails
 
Got my iPad Friday but other half decided she wanted to upgrade hers yesterday so off we went , I was not hopeful. We just missed the last few at John Lewis in Newcastle but they are hoping for stock this week.
Went to cuurys/pcworld on Northumberland street and was amazed what I was told.
Assistant told me they and all retailers were completely out of ipads, no shock there!, he then asked if I was self employed or had a business account with them, I said no but asked why and he said they had loads in stock if you met this criteria, 100+ for some models
The model we are after is showing 57 in stock on their web site

My Tesco 3G 64GB has dispatched for delivery tomorrow. Managed to get an order in on Friay night so thanks to those that mentioned it on here. Will cancel the Apple order as soon as Tesco deliver.

Also nabbed a navy leather smart cover from Comet yesterday. Still had plenty of different colours in stock (but nothing else of interest).

From what I have read we should get a final email with a tracking number

It's the same with my store, my store doesn't stock the iPad 2, the only way you can order one is through a business account and then they ship it out to your house next day delivery I think, it's the only way you can get it if your store doesn't stock it

Sonhow easy is it to get a business account as I do have a side line business as well as my main job, just could not be bothered at time yesterday to go through it all with assistant

Pretty easy I think mate, my colleague said its pretty easy to go through, and the best of all you don't need to own a business, go into a pcworld or Currys that has a business centre and they will talk you through it.

Same here - phoned yesterday and they said all is ok. I'm not convinced though after the oops - error fiasco! Will phone them again today.

Same here. Was hoping status would have changed this morning cos I secretly wished i could have picked it up today. As long as it's there for 4pm Monday as scheduled ;)

I ordered mine are quarter past 8 on friday and received the first email of confirmation then about 10 minutes later two more emails Saying they are processing my order, hopefully we will get another email later today saying it's been dispatched so it can be tracked :)
 
Oo, got a text from Tesco saying that it should arrive on or before Monday 28th.

Also gave me a ref number to www.myhdnl.co.uk which says its "The parcel has been sorted at our hub" at 11.08, so I guess its not coming today xD

Roll on tomorrow! :D

Money has also officially been taken from my account.
