Why do you have to queue, can you not just use the reserve link on the website to see if they have any the night before?

They only suggested this to me this morning (had no clue it even existed)

Do you know how often I should be trying to check for stock? Every 15 minutes? Every hour? Every day? Not really clear...
 
Just got my tracking number from Currys. I didn't order until Sunday morning when I was amazed to discover they had stock - so anyone who ordered on Friday shouldn't have any problems, payment processing aside.
 
Delivered

In work just had the magical call to tell me its waiting for me in the house.
Ordered from Currys on friday around 6.30pm

Maybe I can get some work done now, Roll on 5pm :D
 
Oooooo!!!! My Currys iPad is now in the hands of DHL!

At last .. got an email saying that DHL have the iPad in Lincoln .. it really is on it's way!!

Other news .. to those desperate before the end of April .. I would advise keeping your apple order (if you made one, I've still not cancelled mine and will not until Currys DELIVER mine!) and checking the online stores .. people do seem to be having some luck with Tesco, argos etc .. even though they're temporarily out of stock here and there .. I feel as though getting one earlier than Apples delivery time should be possible!
 
anyone know if apple charges restocking fee for any opened returns? i know they stopped it for xmas but dont know if it's being charged now again.

Friday - Ordered my iPad 2 (3G 32GB) at 19.11pm. Got the acknowledgement email straight away.
Sunday - Call at 15.45 from "Security" about delivering to work. (im pretty sure a fairly large building in the middle of the city know how to receive a package). Said I should receive it by wednesday.
Sunday - Email at 15.48 about there could be a problem with delivering my order within timescales.
Sunday - Email at 15.49 with order confirmation and receipt.

Currently no DHL tracking number :confused:

Just called, and it is a forward order. In the time it took from my order to then calling me about delivering it they had run out of stock and im on a shipment....no clue when.

Might just cancel my order, ive had enough of this iPad business. What a crap launch.

Thats exactly what they said to me and that even though they'd taken my money, and that the email said 3 working days it could be up to 28 working days.

At anytime when you've rang before have they told you it'll be with you within 3 working days? They did me, so I've contacted consumer direct to report them as they had taken my money for a product they didn't even have.

I'd urge you to do the same.
 
comet appear to have stock of some models, but is that one of those "we don't really have stock, we'll just allocate your order" BS line we've been seeing?

It still displays on the website as in stock even now but he checked on the system and apparently it's defiantly out of stock!:mad:
 
Taking a long time to deliver... Never normally stays "Out for Delivery" this late..

Posts like this are why I'm not dancing for joy until Tesco confirm that mine has been dispatched.
 
Thank you Currys! Finally an email notification and after all my abuse and moaning it looks like my iPad is sitting with DHL in Lincoln. I was about to spend my night waiting for the 9pm refresh on the instore reservations.

If anyone is looking for iPads in the Aberdeen area then my wife spoke to a very helpful guy up there in the Apple store who said they had received stock today and he believed it was a small supply of each combo. He was fully expecting them to go in a fastest finger first race right at 9pm though so that does seem to be the best way to get one if you can get on when the stock goes live at the end of the day.
 
Money for my wife's ipad has finally been set aside in the last 30 mins by Tesco after giving up on Apple and then HMV with their is it/isn't it in stock nonsense.

On the page of your local Apple Store there should be a Reserve Now link which will let you reserve an iPad which they'll hold for a day for you. Stock updates seem to be at 9pm each night.
