iPad 2 UK Thread

I think the reason everyone is so frustrated on here at the moment is if they are anything like me they feel that they are being lied to and strung along by Currys/DSG group and having taken my money from my CC I am perfectly entitled to be pretty irritated that their three day delivery which runs out tomorrow is unlikely to be correct. :mad:

I rang customer services this morning again asking why if my delivery was due today or tomorrow they hadn't sent a tracking no, and they said you have been allocated one in a shipment that hadn't arrived yet, and so it will be with you within 28 working days. At which point I was extremely annoyed - not only had they taken money for a product they don't even have, but have lied to me over the phone, so I cancelled my order and will have to wait till Apple decide to ship mine.

I've also written to consumer direct, and informed them as well as put in a formal complaint with PC World/ Currys

I can't believe that they would take money and then lie in order to keep my order - rest assured I won't be buying anything from them again.

Also I recommend anyone who bought from them and hasn't received tracking info to double check that they have actually got the product, and that it's not just allocated to you from a shipment they have yet to receive.

Hope nobody else has this crappy service, and gets their orders as promised.
 
Ordered an iPad 2 WHITE 32GB WIFI from Tesco Direct this morning as they have stock - Got a delivery date for tomorrow :)

Managed to get 10% off the iPad 2 and smart cover as the mrs works there part time and used a £10 tesco direct voucher when you spend over £50 which save me just under £70 in total...

Happy Days!!!! :cool:

It's a requirement when processing payments when paid with a credit card that is not a requirement when using a debit card. For example - from Apple's cancellation email:-

If you have paid by credit card, you have not been billed for the items listed above.
However, if you have paid by debit card, payment will be refunded within the next 5 - 7 business days.

This was for an item not in stock for 3-4 weeks.

not taking a stab but i was at work too but i still managed to drive an hour and wait in line! and yes, i felt awkward looking like a geek in line and i would never do it again!

"Order status: At warehouse - dispatching soon"

Looks like I'll be getting my iPad (ordered at 7am this morning) tomorrow. My finger is a raw and bloodied stump from F5 bashing.

Yeah I tried that, got away from work an hour early 1hrs drive to nearest apple store, arrived at 5 to be met with 300 people outside !!
 
Made an order from Comet this morning, 16GB Wifi model (figure I'll use Personal Hotspot on my phone for data)

Delivery on Thursday apparently...

Can anyone recommend a cheap case to offer protection until my Dodocase arrives in a few weeks?

Mine has been like that since 7am as well. Given how the HMV order turned in to nothing yesterday I'm not getting my hopes up just yet!

Hello all
Been trolling here for a while (as I am not as Mac Loving as others here) and decided to finally setup a login...

I actually live and work in the Marylebone area and I have queued up at the Regent Street Apple store both yesterday morning and today, only to be told at 8 AM that they still have no sotck...

I was also disappointed to see that Tesco corrected the price on the Leather Smart Covers from £35 to £59 :(
 
My key dilemma is that I want an iPad 2 before I go on holiday on April 22nd.

Unfortunately, I have an Apple store card with £639 on it and can only use this in-store....As I will not buy another Apple product other than the iPad, I want to use this store credit...Annyoning thing is that this can only be done in-store and not online :'(

Thus, I have to continue trying my luck on Regent Street...It is literally making me lose sleep as I tend to try and be there by 7:20 (I was number 5 in queue both days and the first 2 people were the same ones)

300 people is good! mine was i am sure, 500 people easy in front of me! so did you get one then?

I am still hoping Currys will deliver my iPad 2
Placed order at 5.20pm Friday got the emails re 3 working day delivery
Checked with credit card money has been taken.
Yesterday got my tracking email which now says this.

Parcel with courier for delivery 29/03/11 HAYES HOME DELIVERY

So trying to be a believer and what it says above My iPad2 is out there
somewhere.

If we do not take Fri into consideration 3 working days is up tomorrow

Why do you have to queue, can you not just use the reserve link on the website to see if they have any the night before?
 
Anyone know how long it takes to remove a charge on your card if you cancel an order?

Canceled my Apple order and think I had a charge on from them. Not that it matters as I have a 1k overdraft anyway but my bank won't find it weird that I have a hold on from Apple then one on from Comet for the same thing will they?

Don't want anything to mess up my Comet order.

Bet you're happy! You will love it, mine from Tesco came yesterday. Very impressed with the swift service.

On a none iPad related matter, you have a lot of apps in your dock!

Took 3 days for me, I'm with Lloyds TSB.
