On my way to pick up my reserved black wifi 64 from the store. It's been quite a week. I fully expect to be told, sorry, there's been a stock problem...

'my' iPad disappeared from the shelf whilst I went to find some accessories. For a while I ws holding my breath, until they brought a fresh lot in from the back…

I wonder what their backlog must be like.

Actually, it wasn't that all were delayed which is why I was infuriated. in fact I ordered early and a lot who ordered later have received theirs as you will see if you read up the thread. But they did admit that there were "a lot of customers" who were affected. And it actually sounds like the backlog will be cleared in the next day or so... so good luck to everyone!

iPad 2 battery prformane

Hi I bought the iPad 2 on Friday at 5.09 :) and have found the battery amazing! Lasts 20 hours at least ! My iPhone 3GS lasts 5 if that! Even drains 20 percent over night :(

I didn't quite believe it'd actually be there till I had it in my hands.

Mmmmmm delicious iPads. Now to a) flog my old one and b) cancel the Apple order.

Unless I have backlight bleeding, yellow screen, stuck pixels, or really decide I actually did need that 3G after all.

I just reserved a 32 GB black wifi model for pickup at Churchill Square 1st thing tomorrow. Email confirmation already received.

Remarkably painless, apart from in the wallet! I hope my sis still wants the old one...

I managed to get one reserved too. Took three browsers and over 10 minutes of refreshing until eventually one went all the way through the process. Now I just hope I can get there on time, and it will still be there if I do!

FINALLY

Got a 32GB Black 3G reserved at Regent Street. Funnily enough the only web browser that seemed to work on the apple website was Internet Explorer (9 in compatability mode).

Will wait till i have a one in hand before cancelling my PCW order. If tracking number arrives before then, then i guess my reservation is up for grabs.

Reserving Ipad constantly times out. Reached the page where you select ipad, click on one, wait 5 mins, ...... timeout ! Bloody frustrating.

I'm having absolutely no luck with this reservation site a couple of times i've got as far as logging in and then just been waiting and waiting and waiting before timing out

EDIT: GOT ONE!

Managed to get a 32GB 3G reserved but Chrome and Firefox timing out, but Safari got me right through!

Roll on tomorrow :-D

So true. It does go through... eventually. I think it was about 9.10 by the time I actually got through the process without being spat out.

IPad blazingly fast and slick. Little animations you hadn't noticed before suddenly come to life. Everything just that bit cleaner and nicer.

And the home button is less 'clicky'. Just mine or is this a design choice given the new double-click multitasking mechanic?

I queued on launch day for me and my other half but needed another for my Mom. Ordered on the launch morning from Apple... nothing.

Ordered Saturday morning from Argos and it was delivered Tuesday. It angers me that Argos can provide faster service than Apple.

I agree. I ordered at 00.30 on the Apple website last frIday and they tell me delivery will be three weeks. I order last Friday night from Tesco (thanks to this forum) and Tesco deliver to me on Monday.

I find it incredible that ordering from the manufacturer directly as soon as they will accept orders, cannot get their product in my hands within a reasonable timeframe. Yet a 3rd party can?

Plus I got £10 off at Tesco using a coupon, and about £25 to come from Quidco. Apple do this time and again - the sole purpose has to be to generate hype but it just pi**es people off!

Loving my 3G 32GB black iPad 2 though...

the simple fact of the matter is, apple's online orders are coming direct from china as they're made, whereas all the retail stock has been coming from china since before launch... it's not like it's being overnighted...

How's everyone finding the light bleed? I'm taking mine back on Saturday, has anyone actually got an iPad 2 without the issue?

no light bleed on mine, properly tested it. it's perfect thankfully!!

Picked up a black leather smart cover from Argos today as the wife had ordered a red one from Apple but who knows when or if that'll ever ship. It's an ingenious design and works very well.

there shouldn't be much of a delay with the smart covers as they're easier to manufacture so will be more of them more often

Reserve and collect on the apple web site is killing me.

So far I've got to the login page three times and then it times out.

Aaarrrrrggghhhh.

Quick Poll - those successfully reserving, are you OS X users or Windows running Safari ?

Hello forum!

Well, after ordering at 2am last Friday direct from Apple, I've managed to snag a 64GB black 3G iPad from the Leicester Highcross Apple store using the reservation thing :)

16GB and 64GB 3G blacks still available, as is the 64GB wifi white :)

Thanks to this thread for letting me know about the reservation thing - appreciate it :)

What a fu....g joke.

You would expect a company like Apple to have a website that can handle this much traffic.

Have been timed out, or frozen out for the last 35 minutes trying to reserve a 64GB white.

Online order still says 25th,

and yes I know i'll get slated for this.:mad:

I give up. I was after a 32gb but after 37 minutes of crap and several false starts including not being able to login to confirm my reservation, they've all gone.

Apple you suck.
