My iPad 2 64GB 3G Black has the backlight bleeding and a line in the rear camera. Rang Apple Care up and it was hard to explain to her, she did claim that my iPad was registered to another. So I rang my local Apple Store in which I bought my and they have plenty in stock and that plenty is for the Genius bar I must add just incase anyone gets hyper at the sign of plenty of ipads in stock. lol

So have to make an appointment with the bar but they have plenty of time today so will have to wait til them family comes home to show and ask what they think.

If I do go I will be asking nicely for a leather smart cover for my trouble and stress of not having it that long and the amount of faults that are with them.

btw its just 3 days old and I have been thinking about returning it when I noticed the problems.

Got 2 iPad 16gb black.

Gave one to my wife....

Que was a about an hours wait...at about ...others waited longer...

Long day...

Is their any restocking fees?
Recently they removed this can someone pls confirm.

And within how many days we may return if we don't like?
Is it 14 or 28 days?

I took my iPad 2 back to John Lewis and the very helpful customer service rep immediately refunded me and said if I wanted to buy another from the stock they'd just got in I could and if that was the same I could get another refund.

Sadly the second one had light leak that was just as bad so I called it a day and gave up. My online order is still open so fingers crossed for that...

Picked up my 64gb black 3G iPad at John Lewis today, writing this on it!

It's awesome, cheers to everyone on this thread for all your help in the hunt!!

Got mine from Regents Street today after an absolute mission. Great but serious backlight bleed so it's going back.

Bit disappointing after the hassle of getting one but not unexpected. At least I know :apple: should look after me.

Tesco delivered my 64 wifi black yesterday. Very impressed with their service so keep checking their site. Also not forgetting £10 off, 1118 club card points and quidco cash back! It's the sale of the century!!

Mine from Tesco had a clicking sound when you pressed near the camera and backlight bleed so i returned it.......they refunded me the extra tenner the code knocked off too :)

If I got one reserved at an Apple store do you still have to join a queue when you get there? or are you served straight away?

reserved! finally! 3rd night in a row trying. Southampton, west quay here i come!
the trick is to start at 20:59:30 and that should do it.

and in response to above post, you can just walk straight in at your reservation time and you should be served shortly.

"We’re sorry, but there are no pickup dates available at this store. Please check back later, try another Apple Retail Store location, or shop the Apple Online Store."

Both Covent Garden & Regent Street but then this message comes up! What's the point of this system?!

LONG MASSIVE QUE...even i was surprised...and shocked..all those were the people that had reserved..que was like crazy....it was busy all throughout morning ...doesnt matter what time u ordered...its first come first serve basis..really what matters is if you actually RESERVED....

only those that reserved que up...

I really do not like the apple reserve system. I have been trying for last couple of days but not successful.

However today, I walked in to the orange store today afternoon and asked if they have any iPADs in stock. i was expecting the usual 'NO' form them. However surprisingly they told me that they have just received the new stock and would begin selling it in an hours time. Thus i got my wifi-3g 16GB white on £5/month data rolling contract.
I would suggest try out the orange stores first thing tomorrow if possible

I don't get why everyone in this thread is so excited for their new iPad. Mine has a terrible bleed and I'm just fed up of it. Apple need to sort out their quality control before I buy a replacement for it.

depends where you go i suppose and how many people have reservations. you are given a time to turn up but i doubt people will listen to that.

and yes i agree with many people on here, its a silly system when you have to time perfectly when to reserve and try nights in a row to get one. but i cant see any other way of doing it

I don't know if you've realized it or not but there isn't a product in the form of a tablet (or ultraportable) that is better than the ipad (thats for software and hardware) and ease of use.

Just my 2 pence!

I have waited the long rush and will be getting one from pc world/john lewis in about 2 weeks time :)

I'm just saying I would highly recommend everyone to wait until Apple get their quality control sorted out before buying one. It's not fair to spend £500 on a tablet, which is in essence a screen, and the screen being of a poor quality, distracting when viewing video on.

well i didn't wait, got one on the friday it came out over here and no issues with mine, no bleed, nothing. am loving it, from reading comics or books on the train to work, to watching videos on VLC on my lunch break, playing fruit ninja in my break, browsing the web and using the sweet sky news app in the evening whilst hanging with the family.

oh and i just watched the new Green Lantern footage from wondercon in HD on the iPad via the apple trailers site, crisp, sharp and perfect.

but thats just mine. yours must suck
