Looks like Ill be refreshing the iPad 2 webpage from 12. I heard orders started a little earlier than the 1am proposed time on the US site.

Pricing will be as follows: £399.00 inc VAT for the 16GB model, £479.00 inc VAT for the 32GB model, £559.00 inc VAT for the 64GB model.

The iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G will be available for a suggested retail price of £499.00 inc VAT for the 16GB model, £579.00 inc VAT for the 32GB model and £659.00 inc VAT for the 64GB model.

The drop in price is a welcome bonus. :)

Looks like my strategy is going to be:

1.Order online at 1am

2.Check Argos/Comet/Currys to see if I can reserve myself the model I want at a local store.

3. If 2 fails then I will be walking around town (after work) to see if I can be lucky and nab myself one from the highstreet.

What's annoying is that by the time you finish queueing, there's not much time to go looking around the other shops before they close.

I'll be looking for where there arnt any queues. I'll probably only queue up at the apple store if the queue isn't too large as they will probably have the largest quantity of units delivered to them.

7 hour wait at the Trafford Centre on Friday for me. At least now we know. Price drop is very welcome - offsets the incredibly expensive (but gorgeous) smartcover that I'll be picking up on the day too.

There's only a JL near my apple store so if i need to go to a pc world etc it'll take a while. :( thanks apple.

I'll check argos before if they have any to reserve then i'll skip apple altogether.

Just had a punt and rang Brent Cross apple store to see if they would put one aside for me LOL
The assistant said "we dont know a release time yet"
So I directed her to this link - http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/
She was shocked to see it and thanked me because she can now tell all the people who are ringing up lol

Seems a little odd that Apple have quietly released a statement to announce iPad 2 availability, and not actually specified UK-specific pricing (apart from, apparently, through MacWorld), and haven't updated their sites yet. Of told those of us that signed up repeatedly to those 'Notify me' emails.

When you say "confirmed" I haven't seen anything from apple?

With the iphone 4 and presumably with this, by the time you've heard anything through the 'notify me' link, it's too late.
