Glad we've got some solid info now, the tension in this thread was unbearable.

Finally persuaded a friend to be my line buddy, that's toilet and food breaks sorted ;)

We'll see you at the Bullring Apple Store!

Thanks for the replies, I'll look into it!

Btw, is it certain that you won't be able to order the ipad online at 1am and then pick it up at your store at 5pm? who says the online order cannot be used as a 'pre-order' as well?

iPad Friday :D

How quickly would they take the money though if i bought it online?

They would without doubt pre-authorise the card at time of order and then take the payment immediately prior to shipping.

But you have 7 working days with the online order after you take delivery to cancel and return it .... UK distance selling regulations.

Don't know if you could return the online order to an apple store even?

i'm doing both just in case!

I'm going to order online and queue up too, I'll cancel the online order if I get one in hand on Friday or receive it if its too late to cancel and sell it on (profit free) I know a couple of others who want one so I could probably do it without going to ebay. :)

iPad 2 Friday Fun

I am going to;

1. Get onto Apple's order site as quickly as I can from 12am on the 25th, order a 64GB WiFi & 3G in White and a Navy Smart Case.

2. Go down to JL@Home to see if I can get one there with discount, if not then wander along to PC World, Comet, Currys, Argos or Best Buy and pick one up there. If so, whilst waiting to pay, cancel my Apple order.

Worst case, I get the delivery within a week or two! Simples!

Can't wait for Friday now! Going for a 32gb wifi only, don't really mind which colour.
Who else is going to the Cardiff store?

I'm planning to start queuing around 12ish. Is that too early? (or late?)

I would think 12-1 would be fine if you want first stop. 2-3 if you want an iPad 99% :)

This is my feeling. Reckon the Arndale's going to be getting a few thousand at least.

Exactly my point that I have been trying to point out for days. No need to queue early. Just get there about 6 and miss the nuggets queuing and pick one up.

I will be having a few beers after work first :)

Nice combination. I call it the Jean Paul Gaultier and it's going to be very popular in Brighton apparently.

Popularity of models

Not sure if anyone has just joined this and missed the iPad popularity documents I was putting together: http://bit.ly/iPad2popFormandRes if anyone else can fill it in that would be cool then we can get a really good idea of what stock is going to be more likely to get on launch day.

I've just packed my tent and I'm off to cabot circus in Bristol to start queuing! see you there people!!

booya, there is an argos and a carphone warehouse at Cabot Circus as far as i know. do you think ppl will que there too?

in the mean time report back on the ques!

See you on friday :)

Currys

Just spoke with Currys nationwide on the phone and have been told that ALL Currys stores will be stocking ALL variants of the iPad 2 at the launch time of 5pm ..

Time will tell!

My Currys is one of the small ones!

Cabot has an Apple Store, a Curry's, a PC World, a Carphone Warehouse, numerous mobile network retail stores, and Broadmead has an Argos and an HMV so Bristol centre is a pretty good bet to get hold of one!

I'm gonna hit Cribbs instead though as I think the queues should be smaller, plus there's a John Lewis, HMV and Carphone Warehouse there as well. Also, it's inside which is good in case it rains!!

Even if they're sold out by six I can think of at least five other places within cycling distance that'll have one. I'll get one on launch day, I'm fairly certain.
