ABERDEEN WILL NOT BE GETTING IN ANY IPAD2 IN CURRYS OR PC WORLDS AND THE CLOSEST ONE THAT WILL BE GETTING THEM IS DUNDEE.

DSGI have allocated most of their stock to areas around london, then Manchester, Then Glasgow. The rest will be getting limited stock and some will be getting no stock depending on population and not demand.

They have a note on the their Intranet site (not internet)

Do you know how many have been allocated in the Glasgow branches?

Well I went into my local PC world on the way home tonight, and they told me they were getting in "under 20" of each model, so I should show up about 3 to make sure I get the model I want. Said they would be dishing out tickets to people at 5, and then selling them in ticket order. He didn't seem to think the launch was going to be a huge deal and even said "I doubt we will sell out of every model" and that "only about 10 people turned up for the iPad 1".

A friend just popped in and was told the same thing.

I finish work at 1pm so will be heading to the Metrocentre staight afterwards - wife offered to check out Eldon Square at midday and queue up if there are plenty of people already waiting. When I get to the Metrocentre, if I'm close enough to the start of the queue (in the first 40) I'll call her, she can go home.

I'm stuck in a meeting in Morpeth until 16.30, so I'm not able to be at the Metrocentre until about 18.00!

Think I might order one online too just to be sure.

Anybody been and asked at PC World Wednesbury (M6 J9)?

I spoke with PC World who actually had the iPad 2's in the back..

what he did say was only 6 models, and about half dozen of each.

He anticipated people queuing up from 9am!! wtf??

Just like others have said, there will be a ticketing system blah blah... so at least there's consistent news there...

another update.
called into pc world on way him, silverlink north sheilds. They told me they were supposed to get stock as they did with ipad 1 launch but this had changed.
He said the Newcastle store on northumberland street was 100% getting them and would have about 100-200 units, so thats better than what another pcworld store told me

is there still no confirmation as to when we might be able to use the reserve system on the argos site/phone line? my plan is currently to order from apple at 1am, but try argos on the friday, i'm stuck at work until 5.30 so can't get to argos til 6, tho a friend might pick one up at 5pm for me if poss. I'm stuck in Newbury, so still not even sure my argos will get any!!

Just installed iTunes in preparation for Friday and almost threw up. It's the only downside to Apple I think. But then again, I'm a PC user not a Mac.

those of you who have done this before for iPad 1 / iPhone releases.. how quickly do they get through the queue usually?

Thinking of queuing at Covent Garden, not sure when from, but it has just occurred to me that if I started queuing at 1 that doesn't mean a 4 hour wait, it means 4 hours until they start selling followed by however long it takes them to get 8million miles down the queue to me..
