iPad 3 Announcement on March 7th with Quad Core and 4G LTE? [Date Confirmed]

RAM is a deal maker/breaker.
Dual or Quad, doesn't matter much to me.
RAM, on the other hand, means everything.

If they leave 512 in it, I'll wait for the 4th offering.

I believe the 4G chip backs down to international standards 3G when 4G cannot be found. That way, they can sell something that uses 4G when available but 3G when not.

yeah I have a feeling they're gonna save the 1GB for next time, which they SHOULD'NT, but we know Apple.... smh
True, but anything I know that is going to be a big file, I always prep ahead of time and load it up on my iPad at home...I'd never want/expect to DL a HD movie for the most part other then my home.
Everything on the go is more about web browsing and mail really.
But that's just me.

I agree. Multitasking and too little RAM is not a great combo. I hope they crank up the RAM beyond 512K too.

These could be. The last two are software more than hardware, and might be included with the next iOS.

As long as the available memory works with the system and OS and allows smooth running.
ipad 3 looks like it's shaping up to have some really nice specs. Too bad I can't record audio through my Duet 2 interface into Logic or Reaper with it.
Why would it? Different Device for different use. They could release a 128GB iPod touch this fall if they wanted. If they released a iPad 3 WiFi+LTE 128GB for $929 I would still buy but I think $829 is more appropriate. It has been years and still stuck with the same storage. It had to of come down by now.
I do not see Cloud storage becoming mainstream for at least 5-10 more years. It is because of current infrastructure cannot handle it. Plus I would much rather have that stuff on hand because I will not pay Apple for more than 5GB of storage yearly when I could have an additional 64GB of storage all the time. Plus the fact Apple has yet to fix the issue where Apps much remain on the device if you want to keep that data. Remove it and add it back you you loose that data.
Here is a real world example.
-I got home late and did not sync my iPad
-I get up in the morning go to work and come around 12PM I want to watch Serenity. Well I did not sync it but it is on iCloud.
-Since I am at the main office I am stuck with either a ~2Mbps 3G connection or a ~4Mbps WiFi connection. That is 1h 54m on 3G or 57m on WiFi.
-I say screw it and drive to the second office with a ~10Mbps WiFi connection. That is still 23m to download.
-I say screw it and just watch movies I had already watched.
And these times are not even HD movies. Imagine 2 to 3 times longer on HD movies. If I had 128 GB I could sync far more movies, apps, music and pretty much anything.

And the Bezel touch is interesting, as I've been secretly hoping for the same thing. Been thinking about how it'd work fora while now.
Don't get me wrong, I'd take 768 but I'm not sure how well that would work with these supposed specs.

If anyone doubts RAM necessity [resident apologists], then take a look at your iPad or iPhone 4s crash reports.
Apple designs their OS to work with less RAM, WTF ever
If this thing has a retina display and quad core CPU, it needs a Gig... but will work with less.
With all my ranting aside, Apple will low-ball the RAM because they have 0 competition and complete market dominance... and no pressure whatsoever

Have you ever typed something long in forum then had to open up another app just to come back to the browser for it to reload the page and delete what you wrote?
Yea, RAM matters. Apple should definitely go up to 1GB.

I actually view quad-core as a slight negative...
I'd rather have a dual-core Cortex-A15 than a quad-core Cortex-A9. Don't care about LTE since I'm just getting the WiFi model. But Retina display will be a huge, huge plus.

I usually go to Vegas, other than flights and hotels being cheap, all the extra's cost more. Including internet.
Im saying late April/May...June will be dominated by the iPhone rumors possible release.
Agreed...especially with the apps that would be coming out for that display.
I've heard that a lot. Care to explain why? I understand more RAM definitely improves multitasking but why would having a Retina display mean having to have more RAM. just curious.
