As much as I enjoy reading about leaks, I wonder why Apple isn't cracking down on all this leakage!

Surely Apple is checking out the rumour sites?

So this is the end of an era for Apple. Now we shall see every part of a new device before it is revealed to the public officially.

I don't know whether to enjoy this, or be sad that the anticipation for the announcement is dying.

I find it more exciting seeing bits and pieces of an iDevice in the runup to a new announcement. Keeps the anticipation alive, you know? :)

Not really. It’s only when Apple has pre-announced products they’ve been able to maintain secrecy. Once a product enters production for availability “today” it’s impossible to maintain secrecy. But I remember the PowerMac G3 “leaking” way back in '96 or '97.

The products that manage to be truly secret are the ones Apple pre-announces like the original iMac, iPhone, iPad and iPod … almost everything else either leaks or no one cares enough to leak (e.g., a new AirPort Express)

these parts what leak together is only putting extra gasoline to my fire of exitement for the new ipad 3.
I just wish some more guys would leak the ipad 3 main board and could actually test it to see whats inside.

Someone should seriously unify all these parts leaks together and see what badboy comes to life.

Jokes aside, I'm shocked at the amount of leaks we've had of the iPad 3, compared to those of the iPhone 4S and the lack of rumours and leaks of a supposed new MacBook Pro.

The whole iPhone 4S was assembled pre launch:

ipad 2 could have been 1.5 but all this could make this upgrade iPad X. i happy with it all, so now my only upgrade i'd like to see is 128GB storage. my dream upgrade would be actual phone service. i carry a bag everywhere so if this could be my only device that would be awesome. but this will never happen.

according to MICgadget, its not getting the 128gb upgrade :(:(:(:(:(
But can anyone tell if those guys had been wrong before?

Bwah

This is no fun... they should release some fake ****... So we can shout al kinds of weird comments...

In all these audits and inspections, are they looking for how all these photos are leaking out?

iPad 2s?

I haven't seen anyone suggest this yet, but with all of the physical similarities to the iPad 2, naming the new device a 2s seems pretty logical.

Sure these leaks aren't really "Apple" as we think, but leaks are commonplace. And think the more smartphones in China, the more the leaks are spread.

And this is the rumored excitement some are anticipating. Think about everyone on here who is saying "take my money apple" this is advertising in a sense. All those on here who are uber excited will be in line on Launch and make another News Story for an Apple product launch/update.

The Mt. Lion announcement wasn't all fanfare either, but look how that story to out without a keynote.

Who says they aren't. They can't very well pull their business and go to someone else, Generally there isn't someone else to go to.

They could be enacting fines etc but we aren't hearing about that. or about the folks fired when leaks are traced to them. Probably because they weren't so shamed by what they did that they jumped off a roof like the guy from Foxconn a couple of years ago.

That said, they don't know about a leak until the info is out there and then the damage is done. Fortunately no one has leaked a fully assembled iPad with the software on it so as Steve Jobs inferred with the iPhone 4, you have seen pieces but not the full sum and it is mightier than the parts

When the iPhone 4 design was leaked and Apple introduced it in their keynote, Steve Jobs said something like: "you may have seen pictures of the iPhone 4, but you haven't seen the iPhone 4, and it is amazing". His point was that there is nothing like seeing the full thing assembled and working, and that you won't get with these leaks. So I doubt Apple cares too much about this. Sure they would prefer no leaks, but they realize its part of their doing buisness.

I think that quote is more appropriate when talking about a new form factor. Unless there is some revolutionary software included in the launch of the iPad 3, I have a funny feeling I already know what it'll feel like to see, hold and use an iPad 3.
