For me ios6 is a bit more lagging, also the maps update is a sin! Bring back google maps, more importantly street view. Does anyone know if or where I can get street view back?

Can't you get it through your browser like on your computer?

What features are there that I can take advantage of again? Facetime over 3g seems kinda pointless when I am using a 1 mbps wireless broadband card.

For one thing, siri is seeming mighty accurate these days. I used to have fits with it over pronounciation, but so far, it opens the apps I want it to quite well.

Absolutely YES!

Plus having the big screen for the 3D flyovers in Apple Maps is stunning!

LOVE LOVE LOVE iOS 6! Binds everything together seamlessly and unparalleled by any competitor!

Well ya, but I like it more on my iPad since its my traveller.... It was also awesome when browsing real estate.

Well you can pull it up on your iPad browser but I'm not sure if street view is available then. I wonder why it wouldn't be but I don't see it there.

Is it possible to play youtube video fullscreen with iOS 6 on the iPad?

Yes just add the Youtube mobile site in safari to your home screen.

----------

Anyone notice how when you open a new tab in safari the cursor goes to the web address bar instead of the search window?

Anyway to fix that ?

So far I'm digging this. Siri is funny, the Facebook integration is tight & being able to stream all my iTunes Match music OTA is freaking sweet.

So far I am liking it; but haven't had a chance to really dig into it. I've been playing with the maps mostly so far.

Yes I noticed it and welcomed it. I never liked how a new Safari tab would default to the search bar and open a dialog box. I just want a tab to open and not open dialog boxes.

But as far as fixing it, I don't see where there is or ever was an option to change it's behavior.

Did you try it?

On the iPad 3 with iOS 5, youtube site no longer plays fullscreen that why I was asking how it works in iOS 6...

You are right, its not full. Top bar of safari is present.

My bad, must be the meds...

I'm absolutely chuffed with it. It was worth the upgrade just for Siri! The rest of the improvements are just icing on the cake for me.

Hmm still debating,

-I never used the ipad to view the map
-not a major youtuber

I'm just not sure if ios6 is worth the bother, oh Siri hmmmm

And what bother is that? Pushing a button? Oh my.

The 3D feature on maps is very cool, but doesn't really help a person find out how to get somewhere. I feel the same way about Siri. When I asked Siri to find the nearest supermarket, it missed the closest three. Same with hardware stores. Why would I ask Siri to open an app when all I have to do is tap it to open it myself? I have to press the home button to activate Siri anyway. Cheese.

Yes, Apple will improve their maps over time but I can't see them sending out fleets of camera equipped cars to reproduce streetview that Google did anytime soon. Public transportation notations like where subway stops are in relation to your location are now completely absent. That's a big deal where I live. I use that on my iPhone a lot.

If you remove the gimmicky features, I'm left with improvements like facebook integration and redesigned content stores. So far, the "do not disturb" feature is my favorite of the truly practical improvements.

Honestly, I'm really really disappointed. Could anyone tell me if I can just do a restore from a 5.1.1 ipsw? I'd rather go back if it's possible.

Youtube is a killer for me. Viewing through Safari isn't really a substitute, as full screen mode is only for iPhone. Personally, I think the changes to the App store are also really poor. Style over usability. Don't really use maps on the iPad, so not an issue for me, and I have 3G (otherwise I would have really appreciated the new location of the bluetooth), but as it is I'd rather go back to what I had.

Which is the first time I've ever felt that about an upgrade :(

No actually i dont know. Worth what? Its a seamless free upgrade.

Well this seamless free upgrade seem to only remove some really practical features and only add gimmicky ones. Doesn't really seem like I would be missing out on much if I passed on ios6.

well lets see,
1: no you tube (f you google even though i know its coming)
2: no facebook or twitter options in the pull down
3: no panorama for ipad camera
4: dont really like the podcast app and dont understand why it was seperated
5: like having a clock app and cool that it shows the local temp, to bad the closest place i can get is 3 hours away and has different weather than where i am
6: the reel to reel in the podcast app is actually pretty damn cool
7: siri is good when it works properly
8: meh... its not as bad as it may seem like i think it is. just a bit underwhelming and has a few, lets say, quirks.

The new apple Maps is very bad compared to the old Google maps. Also no more youtube app. Other then that its great but seems like we are going backwards with some things on this update.

Just like i didnt upgrade to mountain lion on my 2012 macbook air because ML is buggy, i have no immediate reason to go to the new ios becayse who needs to hear siri. Its just a novelty. I have a google nexus 7 that does the same thing as siri and i played with the voice thing once ir twice and shiwed it off to some people but no need for it. :D

IMO the rendering of photos on safari now is laggy when scrolling, JavaScript is now slow too
