I love it on my ipad. The maps looks stunning and the other features are working like a dream. It's smooth and polished; just like it should be. :D i'm definitely happy.

There's not one feature in ios6 that I would use, so I'm not upgrading. Actually, losing youtube and google maps is enough to keep me from upgrading. I'm content with version 5.

You use e YouTube app?

Anyway, Safari got really fast with the update, and Siri is really cool.

Haven't messed around much with anything else.

Yeah, I don't think it's bad at all. I don't use safari at all, so i don't care about that. As for siri, it's nothing I care to use - even if it really worked.

5: like having a clock app and cool that it shows the local temp, to bad the closest place i can get is 3 hours away and has different weather than where i am.

Re #5: There is an app called Living Earth HD, I got it as a "screen saver / clock" for work when I first got my iPad3 - Since then they have stacked on feature after feature. Weather, temp, humidity, real time cloud cover, forecast... Oh, and the time.

Sounds like a plug, I know. It isn't. Just these days it seems 19 out of 20 apps is cool, then gets dropped / neglected by the developer, or breaks with an update. This is one of those rare #20s, like Goodreader. I appreciate developers like those.

Anyhow, back to the topic at hand, no real compelling reason for iOS6 here. I actually use my iPad3 for production, and I can't tell Siri what gets done on this iPad, I've got trust issues... ;). I'll wait a few months for everything to smooth out before reconsidering the upgrade.

I have an iPad 2, but I have to say that Safari is definitely quicker with iOS 6.

I'm on the iPad 3 and noticed the same thing. Safari is really zippy. I also noticed that handwriting is faster making it easier to write legibly. Especially noticeable with letters like E or R.

Try Chrome. I held off for quite a while using it on all my iOS devices, but finally gave in. It's a much faster browser. There's real value in it as well if you us it on your PC too.

Not to mention, that "nitrous" thing that everybody says is the reason to stick with safari, is available for chrome (and every other browser on ios) with a jailbreak.

I tried the beta and find this very smooth. I'm from the camp of people who buy apple products to use them the way they were designed, with all the unjailbroken software. Siri on my iPad is a bonus and I love safari and cloud browsing.

No problems so far. It has been about 15 hours and I've used my iPad for a few things from reading newspapers to streaming live tv. I haven't noticed any difference. Maps looks very nice. Update to mail to organize mail accounts with a VIP folder is great. Passbook has promise. I'm happy with the update.
And Siri seems like something I will use.

Im noticing a speed impact on both of our iPads, but the iPad 3 definitely seems to be getting hit worse. Maybe thats Apples plan all along because I was planning on skipping the iPad 4 but now I feel like getting it just for the A6 chip. :D

As for everything else in iOS6, Id say it ranks as a disappointment. Not necessarily because it contains 200 features that nobody asked for, but because it points out how uninspired Apple's OS division has become in the last two years. I think it may be time to replace Scott Forstall for someone who is actually excited about keeping iOS moving forward.

Going back to 5.1.1 ... Apple have closed the loophole which allowed the changing of icons using iExplorer followed by a reboot. You can't even write to the device using iExplorer now, and it was handy for replacing those annoying non-Retina icons.

iOS 6 compared to iOS 5 is about as Big a disappointment as "The new Ipad" compared to Ipad 2... Sure everything Works just fine and smooth - but theres just not that much new under The Sun...
With The Ipad - The screen is better, but batteri time so much worse... With The iOS there is Siri, a clock app... The worst seen map app and nothing new to ie The lockscreen or The overall presentation/appearence of things on The fab screen...
Overall it is ok and fine... But no more than that...

Yeah, Siri on iPad is even more of a gimmick than it is on the iPhone. I rarely use it on my 4S, and despite using iOS 6 through the betas, I hardly used it on my iPad other than for ***** and giggles.

Honestly iPad 2 owners, you're not missing out on much.

I'm back on 5.1.1 on my iPad, but keeping 6.0 on my iPhone.

The Appstore is "android-like" slow.

If I wanted a slow and sluggish system I would have got an Android.

Please Apple fix this awful appstore.

I've gone back to 5.1.1. So relieved I was able to. There is really nothing exciting about this upgrade for iPad owners, and a few things that are noticeably worse. I use YouTube every day. I wouldn't mind watching in safari (even though it's a poorer experience) if I could do it full screen - but I can't. The new app store is awful. Maps are amusingly poor (it shows shops near me that closed years ago, and towns misnamed).

I love my iPad. 5.1.1 is pretty much perfect and Im happy to wait till apple sort out the issues with 6 before trying it again.

I have found my battery life to be the same and the speed to be better.

Ditto. And, as others have noted, Safari seems a bit faster which is nice(r). Other then that, it feels like iOS 5 to me. I don't use Siri and, when I have, it's generally pretty poor at deciphering what I'm trying to ask.

I would rather be on IOS 5

I have found that this new release comes with some unwanted annoyances.

- The map app is far from finished. I would call it an alpha release. Google Maps is far superior. How about a choice until Apple gets its map app up to production release level?

- My battery is running down about 15% faster running IOS 6.

- Why take away the YouTube app? I want it back.

- When using my iPad for an hour or so it seems much warmer than with IOS 5.

- App Store app is crashing and is very slow to load. App updates are taking a very long time.

- I am noticing that email I delete from my GMail account using the IOS Mail app do not show up in GMail. Makes me wonder what else is not functioning correctly.

The corporate battle between Apple and Google is now causing collateral damage to customers. I think it is time for them to KNOCK IT OFF!!!!

I don't see IOS 6 as an improvement to IOS 5.

I felt the same. New AppStore is like GooglePlay. I miss the old but efficient AppStore. Ad free YouTube was nice too.
