Who the Hell is Sonny Dickson?
It's crazy how long the announcement is taking. If we don't hear anything tomorrow say goodbye to a new iPad in October.
The iPad 5 has been confirmed to have 2 Gb of RAM. The leak was from Sonny Dickson who has proven himself as a reliable source after revealing the specs of the iPhone 5S and 5C over twitter. He states that both the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 will have Touch ID and come in space grey, silver and gold.
He also stated that the iPad Mini will be running the A7 processor found in the iPhone 5S and will come with 1Gb of RAM. He went on to say the iPad 5 will have 2Gb of RAM.
He has also leaked several pictures of the upcoming iPad's (like he done with the iPhone's) on his twitter.

HE was made by Samsung long ago when Sony Ericsson was a high demand phone brand.Who the Hell is Sonny Dickson?
IF that is true, I can see a lot of people just going for the mini instead of the iPad 5.
That's totally wrong yet again. There is no implementation of Rogue that will deliver 1TFlops/sec. The G6630 will not and is not intended for that. Some future Rogue iteration with 16 clusters might but not the G6630 with 6 clusters.
PS3 and Xbox are around 240GFlops/sec in total.
I wasn't saying that would be in an iPad, I was only saying it could one day be in one. A PS3 GPU is 174Gflops and an xBox 360's is 155 Gflops.
I wasn't talking about the iPad but you specifically saying the G6630 tops out at 1TFlops/sec. Which it doesn't.
Remember to count in the Cell processors. They do have around 240TFlops/sec in total, counting GPU and the Cell Engine.
Now let's just continue the discussion about the next new iPad.
Apple sent out invitations for last month's iPhone 5s/5c launch exactly a week before the event. If they do the same this time then nothing coming out today probably means that the rumour of the launch being on 15th October is disproved but it still leaves plenty of time for a launch event on 22nd October which is another strong rumour going round. How long after the event we have to wait for pre-orders and then shipping is another question. Given the 5s launch process it's a question as to whether there'll be any pre-orders at all. It's crazy how long the announcement is taking. If we don't hear anything tomorrow say goodbye to a new iPad in October.
Now why is that? A new form factor, much lighter and thinner, better RAM and a more powerful variant of the A7, and bigger screen, improved portability and still you think alot of people will go for the mini still? Wonder what made you say that?Only because of retina and A7?

what time is the invitation usually sent? is it in the morning or anytime during the day? (californian time)
A7 with 2 gigs it will be replacing plenty of consumers laptops #Event invitations are usually announced ~12am EST. Past 6 events i believe were 10 minutes apart in the 12:00-:12:10 barrier.
Trust me ... I'm having an anxiety attack myself lol.

Event announced in another thread - Oct 22
@MartinAppleGuy - thanks for your reply, sounds good and I'll be upgrading from 1 to 5, hopefully they will actually have the stock
Am I the only one who thinks the ipad4 is plenty fast enough, and would be happy as long as the ipad5 maintains the good batterylife and gives you a lighter and smaller frame? Any bump in speed would just be a bonus.
If the iPad Mini 2 is the same resolution as the iPad what would be the logic in A7 vs A7X? The physical screen size has ZERO impact on the amount of CPU or GPU resource required, the only thing that matters is the resolution.
Having different specs in the iPhone 5c vs 5s makes sense because the iPhone 5c is designed to be a cheaper version of the same form factor. The iPad Mini was not designed to be a cheaper version of the same form factor, it was designed to be a different form factor, and therefor cheaper.
If the iPad Mini 2 and the iPad 5 are the same resolution I have every expectation they will have the same specs. If they have different resolutions (i.e. Mini supports the current Retina resolution and iPad 5 moves up, or both stay with current resolutions) they will likely have different hardware.
